Problems after returning stock - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have a Verizon lg g4 and I recently rooted my phone and decided to go back stock. Upon doing that my phone no longer boots normally, like if I just try to turn it on the screen stays dark and doesn't boot up but if I pull the battery and hold the power button for a few seconds and then wait 10 minutes and put the battery back in it has a better chance of booting back up. Also when it does decide to boot up I have absolutely no sound except for when I make calls or use a Bluetooth speaker. Any ideas or suggestions? Either way Im getting a replacement Wednesday

How did you return to stock? Did you flash the KDZ? Sometimes I found it better to flash the older KDZ and let it naturally update OTA.

I used the kdz that the forum provided. I wouldn't mind giving that a try

[Q] My screen stays black when I turn it on

I recently rooted my GS3 because I had heard many pros of rooting your phone. So I did. A few days after, I decided to mess around with my boot animation and when I rebooted my phone the screen stays black, but everything else comes on i.e my phone vibrates when I get new calls and messages. So, I was wondering if I needed to do a hard reset or something? I currently have CyanogenMod 10 installed and was planning on converting back to the Stock Android ROM. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Try reflashing the same rom to see if it overwrites the boot animation.

Does the screen ever come on or is it just blank when you boot it up ?

Edit: I flashed the Stock 4.1.1 ROM back on and everything seemed to be working fine until recently. I can't get my phone to connect to the WiFi at my house. It recognizes other networks, but not my home network.

Sudden death?

My TMobile note 2 quit working last week. The battery was low and the phone was unused for part of the day. When I went to get it for charging, it showed this weird and useless screen. Since then I've tried charging, pulling and re inserting the battery, in all cases the most it will do is just the one weird screen as shown. I bought another battery and charged it fully before using, same result. It was unlocked but otherwise stock. I had not yet done the most recent update, I think it was on 4.1.1.
Is there anything else I can try before contacting Samsung?
Thanks.

Did you try getting into recovery

Try to go into Download mode. Turn off the device then press Volume Down button, Home Key and
Power Button simultaneously. And then, press Volume UP button in Warning Page to enter the Download Mode. If you can get into the download mode, then flash factory stock rom with Odin. You can try to flash factory stock rom from Kies (run Kies from your desktop) as well. I am hoping the drivers for graphics is corrupted. If so then this would fix that problem.
If neither works then your only choice would be either warranty or insurance. At this point it is hardware problems. And there is nothing you alone can do to fix it.
Have you tried opening up the back and checking the display connection?
You can watch this video for guide, it's quite easy.

[Q] Boot Loop/Won't Boot

Hi everyone,
My S3 would all of a sudden just turn off and I wouldn't be able to turn it back on. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in. The phone would turn on by itself, but once it flashes the S3 logo, it would go black and the power button would become unresponsive. Sometimes it would keep vibrating. The only way I was able to keep it on long enough to re-flash/do a hard reset was if I took the battery out and left it overnight. But when I managed to re-flash/hard reset, the problem would come up again after a few hours. I was wondering what might be the cause of this. The first time it happened I was just streaming music, the second time it was just charging. I just got it back from warranty because of a loose power button and this problem was never there before. I was wondering what might be the cause of the problem and how I can go about remedying it. Thanks!
Sounds like the battery is failing. To be sure though, you said you can get it up and running for a few hours, right? That should be enough, but first make a nandroid backup. Then recharge, then do a full wipe and odin flash the stock firmware. (Only do this if you are certain it won't die during the flash.)
Are you on a stock rom now? If so and you're not sure enough to use odin, factory reset, including internal sd, and see if it continues.
If it does go to a Tmobile store and see if they'll let you test with a known good battery.

I did a full wipe and odin flashed it with stock firmware after the first time it happened. I thought I was in the clear, but it happened again couple hours later. I've tried it with my spare battery but it does the same thing, it would turn on by itself, flash the S3 logo, then the screen would go black.
I'd take it to T-Mobile, let them see it happen do their thing, and ask them to note it on your account if they tell you to call support.

Phone goes into download mode randomly!

I had my phone in a little portable safe as I'm traveling abroad with airplane mode on and wifi too. 7 hours or so passes and I pull my phone out. Its on a screen that says downloading 1 custom binary or something along those lines and has Andy the android saying do not turn off. No one knows the combination to my safe and no one went into it. The phone said not to turn it off but I did anyway and everything seems fine as I type this. Has any one experienced any thing similar? I'm running X15.

Go ahead and turn it off by pulling the battery. It says do not turn off because that mode is used to download firmware and could brick your phone. Since your not not downloading anything your good. Possibly try installing new firmware using odin and you can look up how to do that on here...just make sure you are using the correct firmware for your phone like don't use Verizon.

That happened to me the other day. For me, as soon as I put the battery back in, it went back into download mode. I had to hold the buttons down for recovery while installing the battery.

LG G3 D851 Stuck in a boot loop

So I've had my T-Mobile G3 for less than a year. It will be a year on September 8th, and before I send it off to LG to see if they can do something about it, I want to try to fix it myself. I haven't rooted my phone or anything like that. My phone just, over time, started restarting on its own to the point that it just loops the LG logo (sometimes it manages to make it to the T-Mobile logo). I can only use my phone when its plugged in to the charger. Sometimes it will restart when its plugged into the computer but most of the time it works fine. I have tried factory resetting my phone and now its slightly worse as now the LG logo shows up and immediately shuts off to show it again and thus the cycle continues.
Could someone please help me with this problem? I'm sorry in advance if this is in the wrong place or has already been resolved. I'm new here.

Pull the battery from the device and wait 10 seconds. Then hold volume up and plug in the USB. If you see the firmware update screen get the lg flash tool and restore your device via kdz
