samsung note 3 neo (sm n 750) brick - Galaxy Note 3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi ,
I have been reading a lot on xda developers about how to root, back up and flash a custom rom. I Successfully rooted my phone and got the supersu app too . I downloaded a few apps like greenify and fullscreen to test the waters of rooting . I also downloaded rom manager , TWRP & helium . Everything was going smooth when i was trying to make a back up from rom manager it wasnt letting me and phone would just reboot when i tried .
Then i was getting a little restless and tried to work on TWRP to install a recovery and an option that was on top of install a recovery . It gave me few options to which i said yes ( something related to back up in sd card ) . Then it asked me to press yes to reboot and since then my phone gets stuck at the samsung logo screen and if i press volume down + power + home then it gives me a screen where it says " downloading... do not turn off target !!" . On this screen the current binary is custom and so is the system status .
No other key combination that i know of is working .
PLEASE HELP .
Thanks in advance

what recovery did you use?
if you can enter recovery menu by pressing upper vol+menu+power button,
try to find your rom file again, either in backup folder or anywhere you place it before.then flash it again.
if you had your rom file on computer, just flash it via odin. or if you can enter recovery mode, flash via adb also possible.

Well that's one of the perks of flashing a 3.xx.xxx.x ROM on 1.xx.xxx.x(4.4.2) firmware. You get to have extremely long boot up times and you won't have a proper working radio which leaves you with no wifi, data, gps, bluetooth...
Your OTA probably didn't work because of a custom recovery, not because it was rooted. Root does NOT prevent OTA updates from installing, though you might lose root access after the OTA.
If you're stuck at Boot screen hold Volume UP + Power button for 10seconds, as soon as the screen goes black press volume Down + Power button to enter into Bootloader.
Flash a custom recovery like TWRP. Go into recovery and restore a nandroid backup for your device.
first thx alot for replaying
i already got TWRP installed but the screen is stock on boot screen but still manage on the back ground to load my current rom as i'm hearing the log in sound of the rom :S
so i tried to power it off without seeing by holding the power key the power option pop up and touching random parts of the screen but i failed
i even waited for the battery to empty and factory reset the phone with no use
is these is any way even by adb to power off my phone
plzzz help
thx again for replaying

By the look of things you are booted in OS but have no screen, hence why try and hold power button in and randomly tap to shut off?
I told you already to Hold Volume UP + Power button for about 10seconds and then hold volume down + power to enter bootloader.
You can of course also just plug it in and try to reboot to bootloader using adb, if you have USB debugging enabled. adb reboot bootloader
As already said just hold power and volume up for around 12 seconds then immediately press and hold power and volume down. This will always get you into the boot loader.
However if adb is working just use the command above. Reflash the original boot.img and you should be good.

Use that to get back to the stock rom for your phone. Then after installing the right one, get the OTA

Never leave your device with an empty battery. In any circumstances.
Because you might not be able to charge it. Recover the device while you have some power on your battery.
Remember, this is a unibody device. It's not so easy to pull out the battery.

Cannot enter recovery mode

Hey All,
I have recently rooted my Xperia T2 with hopes of entering the wonderful world of customization. However, I cannot enter recovery mode at all. I have exhausted Google looking for a solution prior to registering here. I have tried everything from downloading apps such as Quick Boot to connecting to PC and trying the adb command ''adb reboot recovery'' and ''adb reboot-bootloader'' and of course I have tried the obvious of turning off the phone and then powering back on while holding the power button and volume up key at the same time. Performing that action shows the phone powering on with the Sony screen followed by a black screen where the phone vibrates 3 times and will continue in this loop if I don't release the keys, If I do release them the phone just starts normally. In all cases, that is is what is happening, the phone restarts and boots normally.
I have checked that everything is OK with the rooting that I did via the app Root Checker and and checked bootloader unlocked status via the command ''*#*#7378423#*#*''.
So, there you have it and I just can't understand why I can't enter the recovery mode. My main goal for the moment is to free up some RAM by doing the Link2SD method but without getting into the recovery mode, that seems hopeless.
Hopefully someone here can advise me.
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
I can't enter recovery mode too... also already unlocked my bootloader but recovery still unacessible.
See what I did:
(DONE) - Unlocked my bootloader;
(FAIL) - Tryed to root by using KingRoot (2 differrent versions, one that I saw in a tutorial and the newer version - cause I'm using the newer T2 Ultra firmware)
(FAIL) - Tryed to install a custom recovery and as a gift, my T2 started an infinite bootloop.
(DONE) - Fix the boot loop problem...;
(FAIL) - Enter recovery mode and flash a Pre Rooted Firmware;
(DONE) - Searching how to flash a custom recovery again...
(DONE) - Installed a custom recovery (TWRP)...
Now I have another problem... wen a I try to turn It on, It only goes to recovery, and the notification led blinks red and then purple. There's anything I can do to fix It?
The very same problem i am facing now
I wanted to upgrade to higher version of lollipop but not able to get in recovery mode though i have already rooted n installed NDR utils BUT not able to get in recovery mode even via app
Any one who can help US OUT ?? !
I have same problem i can't enter to recovery mode by hold power button and volume + or volume - i try a lot of other combinaison but it doesn't work , help us thanks
I know it's too late for a reply but if u still wandering for how to flash a custom recovery first you need to install one as our Sony phones doesn't come with stock recoveries as mtk and Samsung devices have. Now go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/t2-ultra/development/t2-ultra-xzdualrecovery-qa-t2823793 for Complete tutorial on flashing and downloading a custom recovery. I have installed it with no errors

Zenphone 2 bootloop , cant access recovery mode nor fastboot nor adb

Hello Guys
After doing deep search on this forum and try several unsuccessful solutions (recover mode, fast boot...). I decide to create new thread.
Symptom : A boot loop on Android Upgrade (There are 7 updates to apply).
I think, I know the cause but every solution found on this forum didn't succeed.
I tried to access recevey mode ( Power+Up, then release up ). --> When I release Up after vibration, I don't enter into recovery mode.
I tried to access my phone through fastboot or adb but, I have following message : "Wait for device". No detection so
Here is what I have done to be in this situation :
I've rooted my phone (thanks to forum explanations) --> No Problem
Installed this bull**** app "App Master" to freeze or put bloatware into trash (recoverable)
Everything was ok, since I noticed "Asus Start Manager" needed to update but was not compatible with my device. Strange isn'it.
So I've undertaken to restore frozen and removed app from app master. It asked me to restart and then, my 7 restored app seems to involve a big mess.
And now I can't Boot. NOte that android upgrade wants to suprisingly update 7 optimisations.
My next idea is to acces directly internal storage to remove 7 apk provoking boot loop.
Do you have better idea because if I remove internal storage, wararnty will be canceled and in addition I have no guaranty I'll able to read it.:crying:
Further more I hesitate to send it to vender since my device is rooted. They will answer it's my fault, and it's true sic !
As you understand I 'm quite desperate . IF someone can help me I'd be so grateful.
Thanks everybody and sorry for my english

Unfortunatly no.
bouhhh !!
Try to see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/unbricking-research-unbricking-method-t3162848
Ok i'll try it after work this evening.
I have nothing to loose so....
can u let me know. I failed with it.
U should have been able to access the boot loader at least.
while pressing and holding the volume up button , press and hold the power button until the set vibrates.
just when u feel the vibration RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON, NOT THE VOLUME UP BUTTON, 9as u have mentioned the oppssite in the first post) then it should go to boot loader menu.
I have a similar problem with ZF2. I access recovery mode by pressing the down arrow key and then the power button but the phone just reboots into recovery mode again. No dead android logo appears as others have suggested.
Try that : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3191244
Do volume up + power, once it vibrates press volume down rapidly about 3 times. Wait for a minute or two while on the Asus screen. Sometimes it will boot into recovery or it will vibrate and stay stuck. It worked for me.
A workaround
Hello Guys !
I've posted a workaround to my problem but I don't understand why it doesn't appear. I certainly made a mistake something.
Here is what I remember:
I tried several procedure described on asus-zenfone.com I finally found a soft which unlocked my recovery mode.
But finally it was maybe the fact to connect my device with usb which unlocked It (sorry I don't remember)
Once recovery menu was available, I downloaded official rom, copied it on an sdcard and installed it.
Good news, most of bloatware were desactivable !
Now, I have a device rid of the unworthy softs with an offical ROM.
In such situations I usually disassemble the phone and disconnect the power train of a few minutes. After that it booted recovery/bootloader.

I am able to access bootloader . But when i choose recovery mode, the phone enters into a boot loop.
. Here is what i have done:
1. My device was already rooted.
2. Tried to install twrp custom rom using usb adb commands
3. It showed successful. I fast booted into my device. Switched it off and entered boot mode again. then selected Recovery. But I was never able to enter into recovery (The Robot with error was not at all displaying).
4. Then i searched google and found my boot loader was locked. I unlocked bootloader using
https://dl.xda-developers.com/3/4/0....zip?key=dEgXp67KVlqwn4BL-w1kWw&ts=1505837086
5. Now my flash screen is in white background. I can enter boot loader.
6. Then again i installed twrp via adb and selected recovery mode. But when i choose recovery, the phone goes into boot loop.
Please help.. One doubt: MY Phone is ASUS ZENFONE 2 Z00AD.

Recovery mode of my ZENFONE 2 is not coming since i have rooted it

Hello, please help me. I cant access my recovery mode of my ZENFONE 2. firstly i rooted it using CWM. All went good. But when i tried to open the recovery mode after pressing power +vol up. the recovery mode was opening with Andy opened and lying down and the screen flashing an error. i thought flashing TWRP will be a good idea and it will work. From the PC side everything was good. The pc was showing that TWRP has been flased but when i tried again to open TWRP, by pressing the recovery mode from rectangular box at the top , TWRP didnt open. Even the recovery mode with error is also not opening. when i am selecting the recovery mode the BOOTLOADER is starting again and again . i neither cant access TWRP. i dunno if it has been flashed or not. I can see TWRP nowhere :/. please help me. how do i reach my recovery mode if it is not opening? And what is the problem with TWRP? is it flashed or not?? i dunno. i hope i have made my problem clear to you. Please help ASAP. plz help
same problem here
So, did you guys unlock your bootloader? Bet not...
For me, I'd flash back a stock recovery using fastboot and see if it works...
If you see the android lying on its back with error underneath when you go to recovery, then you need to hold power and press up volume key.
To replace stock recovery with TWRP you need to unlock your bootloader, this is also applicable if you want to flash a custom rom...
I'd suggest you go to general section, look for the stickied threads and do a butt ton of reading before you try doing this again...

Unable to go in CWM as device is in bootloop

Hi Guys ,
I tried doing factory data reset in my Galaxy Grand device. Unfortunately , my device got restarted and is now in a bootloop.
if i press VOLUME UP + Power + Home unable to do anything.
IF i press Volume down + Power + Home my device is asking me to go to download mode .
How to fix my device . Please help .
Try these and see if it works.
go to download mode.
Then install a new recovery mode like TWRP using odin, check if recovery opens .
(If it doesnt then again install CWM using odin, repeat this process until you get a working recovery).
Then install a new ROM (any ROM would work which is compatible).
