Which modem do I need and where to find it ? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I installed CM12 and my data goes crazy, so I checked on the modem and it's indian ("DD")... i'm in France. Would anyone be cool enough to tell me what modem I should install and where to get it (warning, CM12 means android 5.1.1) ? I assume it's just something I flash in Philz or through Odin? Thanks very much to anyone who reads this

It's OK, I finally fixed it by flashing MJ9

Can't Install CM11 on my S3

Can someone tell me what is going on with my phone... I have the latest MJC modem and I cannot install CM11 ROM?
Do you have custom Recovery installed ? If so is that latest version ?
yes the RECOVERY is the latest version, also I experience some bad CALLS meaning that when somebody calls me they cannot understand what I'm talking can someone tell me how I can flash the latest bootloader and modem without damaging my phone in any way?
Please post the exact Recovery version and error message you get when flashing CM 11.

[Q] Note 2 bricked

Today i flashed CM 11 with CWM and after rebooting the baseband and IMEI were gone. I tried to flash the baseband but nothing happened. I then tried to flash the stock rom touchwiz through ODIN and it failed. Now the phone reboots asking to connect to KIES and do a recovery which i can't perform.
Any clues about?
Thank you in advance,
Davide

Thanks for the prompt reply. The Rom I flashed is the 4.4.2 snapshot.
In the meantime i flashed this pit file from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137008
and now the CYM is back and working but still no baseband.
Is there any way i can reinstall the stock rom ? is the partition a problem?
I dont have a backup of the EFS folder (I made it once but i cant find it)
EDIT: CWM is installed and working
is your IMEI Same..?
i assume there are several reasons, it can be a simple fix by installing a stock 4.4 KK which will eliminate the problem you are facing, iin past week, i done alot of experiences on my bricked note 2, specially the failed PIT flashed, i tried couple of them but at the end the only thing turned the phone in right direction was stock KITKAT
you can find that in the the post i posted earlier.
i am 100% sure you will get your phone back to life.
also remember to when you are done flashing go to stock recovery and wipe data and cache. It is needed after re-partiton to form the partitions correctly
edit: best keep a nand of your current rom as well
4.4.2

Exactly. Flashing the official stock rom based on kitkat 4.4.2 (which has been released few days ago I believe) solved the problem. I'll try to flash CM tomorrow (tonight get.cm is not reachable and can't download the android app).
Thank you!

Just wanted to ask you something. I installed the Nordic version of the latest Android update which is at the moment the only one available and I have the impression that the voice quality is not that good. I was wondering if this may depend on the baseband version installed on this one. I'm from Italy and kitkat 4.4 is still not available in my country. Flashing a different baseband may change the situation? If so, Is there a baseband more compatible with this touchwiz version and the Italian telco providers?
Thank you again,
Davide

[Q] i9195 upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2

Hi guys! I have the italian firmware for the i9195, i9195XXUBML4. I have alredy tripped my knox, so i don't care about the warranty...
If i flash the GT-I9195XXUCNH5_R1 deodexed from @ladislav.heller, will i face problem with modem or something else? I already have some experience with my ex s advance and with my current tablet ( tab2) wich are both with cyano, so i can understand something
I cannot try it because if i flash something i want to be sure that it is compatible with my phone, i wouldn't brick it
Sorry for the bad english xD
@Alecotro Before flashing that ROM you must upgrade your modem to cnh5. Links for that modem are on the ROM's thread.
When u download that modem file extract it and flash it with ODIN as PDA / AP. Repeat and verify if your modem changed. Check baseband in settings>about phone for confirmation. Once u are done upgrading the modem u can flash the ROM via custom recovery.
Without modem u will face connectivity issues and force closes. I am using that ROM and it is perfect.

Thank you very much! Will the different modem have problem italian carrier like wind (don't know if you know it)? Cause with my s advance i always had the same baseband whatever the rom i flashed...
And, in the future, if I flash something like cyano, will i have to switch back to my old modem?

No CM is independent from your modem.

Wifi Problem (I747M)

Hi,
I rooted my I747M and installed CM 11 D2LTE Rom 4.4.4 KK. (I tried with CM kernel and Quantum Kernel)
Everything work well, except the Wifi, it's not stable, going up and down all the time. So i tried to install different modem, all the other modem (From HERE I747M) are not working (WIFI is working very well with thoses modem but I have no Signal with Koodo) .... dont know why !!!
Should I try the AT&T modem ??
The only modem that work is the I747MVLUFNK2 Baseband & Modem (Koodo).
Is there other Baseband / modem that I can flash to get a stable Wifi !????
Thx
PS : Sorry for my bad english
What bootloader is on your phone? You should make sure the baseband/modem matches your bootloader. Does the problem occur with stock ROM?
My baseband/modem matches my bootloader. I didn't want to go back on the stock rom because i hate all the samsung Apps. But I think i have no choice, I will try it tomorrow to let u know if it is working good or not.
Thx for your fast answer
You should verify your bootloader before trying to go back to stock as attempts to downgrade a 4.3 or newer bootloader could brick your phone.

[D855] not rooted, need help flash modem

Hey guys
So here is my problem.
My GPS is really bad at the moment. I just found out its because it's not the best version of the modem that's inside. 20a instead of 21c.
So I would like to flash it into 21c.
Since my phone is not rooted, is that a pb?
If not, can you guys gimme a hand to flash it?
I downloaded a .zip file with the right version of the modem on a different thread. But what do I do with it?
I tried to follow the "go to recovery" as mentioned but I just don't know where to go.
Therefore can I update to 6.0 without losing all my files? And then switch back the modem from 30B (6.0) to 21C ?
Thanks
