So I sent my tablet into a repair shop for a battery issue that they had to take the tablet apart to fix and when I got it back I noticed that the inner apart of the headphone jack was chipped and I could see the corner of what I assume is the motherboard
I was wondering if the damage could have been caused during the repair, such as when they were opening the tablet, as it was not there before and I don't know what could have caused it.
There also appears to be a slight gap between the shell and the black part of the jack but I could not get a good picture of that.
Picture here below
perhaps ?!? remove your cover, can't see anything.
On this picture, It should or shouldn't be a repair damage, it should be also your own damage.

The chip is on the inner part of the jack, you can see a bit of gold colored metal, the case is not obscuring it.

My nephew was zealously playing mushroom wars, and while he was trying to angrily eliminate the enemy shrooms he was pressing entirely to hard.
I now have some seriously bleed behind the corner of the screen where the offending shrooms were. Also there are blue streaks in the same corner. which are in my opinion a much worse eyesore than the bleeding.
I assume he has not only pushed the LCD away from the digitizer, but also irreparably damaged the LCD it'self. However I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I can do to fix the streaking. I am going to tear it apart and try to fix the bleed issue.
Giving you a thanks for the AD reference
Why not try seeing if you can get asus to service it? I've never seen that happen on another glass-covered device even with excessive force used.
Looks like too much pressure was put on the unit causing what is behind the screen to be pressed upwards toward the lcd/glass. This is normally a metal shield of some sort. Pulling dents out from it may be possible with some sort of dent puller/suction cup but there is a frame in the way that may cause you issues from looking @ http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+7+2nd+Generation+Teardown/16072. Also if the soft battery has suffered any crush damage or bending it may puff out and need to be replaced or you run the risk of a runaway thermal event at worst or just reduced run-time at best.
Don't you also need to remove a warranty voiding sticker to access the shielding in the first place?
I blue myself?

I actually have the same thing, have had it on 3 separate units too. Gave up on trying to get a new one after the third and will be trying to send it int asus. None have suffered any damage or abuse either.
I have the same problem out of the box. mine looks like a warped outline of the motherboard. I've been on the fence about loosening the screws on the motherboard to see if that helps, but that means removing the warranty sticker. Has anyone else tried?
Recently i received my Xperia Z1C White. After some careful checking (that happens when you are a techy) i noticed that the frame bends slightly inwards at the back side. I made a small example of what i mean on a photo. The problem is. If you can press those parts of the frame inwards, what happens with the waterproof seal between that part of the frame and the plastic bezel on top of this? Is this the case with every Xperia Z1C or is this a rare problem?
I suspect this also is the reason why you can hear a sound while pressing the screen slightly.

Same on my phone, but only the charging port side, and my phone squeaks too.
Me too - i can also press the frame inward. Oh my god, i´m a bit confused now...lets hope everything is ok and water is no problem for that...
*EDIT* But i have to say that this also is an issue to find on my Z1 !
Had a bit of convex shape on the back, barely noticeable. Hairdryer and pressing did the trick.
And no, don't be too harsh to the phone.
Glue seems to be unequally applicated.
Made in China after all.
I don't know why, but it doesn't seems any problem with my white phone.
I wonder hwo wide spread or problematic this is. On a normal phone this wouldnt be a problem at all. But on a waterproof phone every error can be a problem.
Mine seems to have the same microscopic gap on the back around the docking port.
I dunked it in a bowl of water and let it sit for 5 minutes. Took it out, dried it off - no problems.
The back of mine flexes when pressed hard in the center, but there are no gaps at the edges (even when pressed)
Is this something they'd accept a warranty replacement for? Where do you go about requesting such?

I think no warranty on this, they will probably consider it normal.
The problem with high precision designed devices like this and iphones is, that if something is a bit off you notice it easier.
I do regret it a bit that i didnt exchange it within the 7 days that it is possible to exchange a product after buying it in holland. But if it is widespread, then the case of a phone without the flexing frame/misaligned frame would be very small.
For anyone worried about the waterproof nature of their device, the only thing I can say is - test it. If the product works as intended you're golden. If not, you're covered by warranty.
I'm avid photographer and diver and with all new waterproof equipment, the first thing I do is test their waterproofing by either dunking them in the tub or the sink full of water.
You've bought a device with a capability which you should be able to trust. No need to find out 1 year later when you drop it in the toilet that your device is faulty.

Same here, only a small gap around docking port that can be ever so slightly pressed in under higher-than-normal pressure, never noticed it in every day handling.
Mine keeps pulling hairs out of my beard!

I believe there's a sensor-like surface when you open up one of the flaps (the micro-USB one I think). It's a small white square and it turns red when in contact with water.
This is how the service centres know that you are complying to proper usage. So do be careful not to get the internals wet
That would make sense

I have exchanged mine, still a little flex around the charging port but the back is definitely more flush. No small gap and less cracking noise when pressing the back as well. Very content with the built quality of this phone now.
I received my G Pro back in May sometime off of eBay, and I believe it was refurbished, but I don't quite remember exactly. A little while after first getting it, I noticed a little blob under the digitizer of the device, not on top. I have no screen protector on this device, so that wouldn't of caused it. At the same time, I noticed that dust somehow sneaked it's way under the screen as well. I'm wondering as to how this happened, but I think dust snuck through the earpiece. I'm not sure what the cause of this mysterious "blob" is, but that could be because the digitizer is separating from the LCD screen. Any help on this? I cannot provide pictures because I am new here, so no outside links, and the files are too large to post.
I do know that in a galaxy phone, the screen is adhered to the glass. If you replace just the glass, you can't replace the "glue" that was between the screen and glass. If the GPro is also designed like this, then you could experience the symptoms you're experiencing. To remedy this, you could attempt to lift the screen up (do not force). If it comes up easily, you could attempt to clean under it with some alcohol and soft lint free cloth. Then perhaps place some adhesive around the edges that are allowing in the dust. Good luck.
The digitizer is not removable on the G Pro, at least that's what a repair representative told me. He told me the only way to fix this is to have the device completely replaced, which is impossible for me.
the digitizer and screen are not glues together on the G Pro! I have changed my touchscreen/digitizer and they are two desperate pieces. I got dust under my screen a month after I changed my digitizer. ! the area along the sides of the screen for the adhesive stripes is very narrow! if I had o guess you adhesive slipped or was not sealed correctly from the factory or something and now u r getting dust under your screen.
Okay, I guess I will be returning the device after all. I don't really have any other option.

What "refurbished" means on eBay I understand to be kind of broad. It could mean LG refurbished a phone, or a seller bought a broken phone and fixed it thus "refurbished."
The screen issue might be a poor repair job.
I will be sending the phone out tomorrow. Does anyone know the typical turnaround for LG repairs?
I dropped my 1gen N7 which cracked the screen and left it completely unresponsive to touch. I got a replacement screen digitizer LCD off Amazon and installed it myself. It works, but but most of what should be black is red, on half the screen most whites are teal, and there are ghosts/shadows under the keyboard letters and other random stuff. Did I likely get a bad lcd or could a damaged ribbon cause this? I'll try to get a video of it, but I don't know if it'll come out accurate. If it works I'll post a link to it.

If you look closely at the lcd ribbon (amber, not silver), the end going to the motherboard has a snap-on connector. It has to snap straight top down; otherwise, it would bend the pins (most likely on the motherboard side), and that in turn will cause the kind of distortions you described. Look with a loupe of at least 10X and you will see if anything was damaged on both ends (ribbon and motherboard connectors). If you see pins that are just bent out of shape, you can try to bend them back, but be very gentle. Once they break, the whole motherboard would become unusable.
Also, the EMI tape covering the connector must be preserved and stuck to its metal top side. Without it, the tab would have all kinds of interferences.

Thank you very much for your help.
I'm guessing the emi tape was the silver piece of tape. That was the only thing I couldn't save. As soon as I peeled it off it rolled up and I couldn't get it unstuck from itself. Where could I get some, or is there anything I could substitute for it?

If you're in the us, give me an address and I'll send you enough to replace the lost piece.
So yes it has happend I dropped my G3. LCD is fine but the digitizer and the silver frame are done for. For a moment there I thought I'll replace only the digitizer but the frame is deformed so I'll just fork more cash and replace the full assembly (LCD + digitizer + frame) my only concern is the IMEI S/N sticker. Can the sticker be heated and transfered from my old assembly to the new one, has somebody done it? As I see no gunk on any screws I'm guessing that the only way LG warranty service may see my unauthorized replacement is by the IMEI sticker. Or can the sticker be removed without losing the warranty?
I've searched for the answer but couldn't find any related to G3.
i did change the whole frame and lcd, and the sticker went away very easily, you should not have problems just be carefull and if you want, heat it a bit

Thanks, I'll change the frame and wait with the sticker transfer any idea about what temperature should I use on the sticker? I'm gonna use my hot-air soldering station.
no idea but as i told you, mine went away in few seconds without heating
