Is somebody experiencing issues with the external speaker? Everything was normal until suddenly the speaker started to sound like is broken. I am using viper audio and I am not sure if this is making the problem. But, somebody can tell me what can I do?
Actually I realized that my external speaker is damaged (even if I don't know how it happened) in conclusion I decided to buy the the spare part at zandparts. Believe me or not this is a great phone and having a galaxy note 3 too, I prefer this one a thousand of times.
Update***
I replaced the speaker and everything is working fine again

My speaker was broken too but it's very easy to replace it and the speaker's price is very low on aliexpress or ebay. I found a how to on ifixit.com
Aha. It seems that i'm not the only one. I replaced the speaker in March in ASUS service center and it breaks again now.
hi all, experiencing same problem with my zenfone 2, sent the device to a local repair shop but they said that problem with the chip on the board.
They changed 2 speakers and same problem, what you guys think ?
The thing is that I could still hear some sound at very high frequency but things such as music or youtube no.

Hello Folks,
I've been searching the forum and haven't found anything specific to this. My Nexus 7 Wi-Fi 32GB (2013) had this problem for one day before, then fixed itself for the past couple months. Randomly during a youtube video the other day the top speaker stopped working. It has since stayed mute. The bottom speaker works fine.
I've tried rebooting the bootloader, restarting the device, checking for updates, plugging in headphones and taking them out, etc.
My device is completely stock, running update JSS15R.
Any suggestions, please?
Thanks.
Return it for a new one if you can. If you can't sounds like you need to find an Asus repair center.

Well, damn. There were no warning signs, no buzzing or distortion. Would a factory reset work perhaps?

You could try but this sounds like a hardware issue not software.

Fyi OP, I have the same issue with my nexus 7 2nd gen. I first noticed the problem when I received a new case, put it in, and fired up youtube. I suspect it has something to do with the magnet to trigger the screen to come on/off.

Could someone that is a little more knowledgeable chime in and tell me if it is even possible for this to cause the malfunction with the speaker?
I have the same problem.
My 32 GB Nexus 7 2013 does this too randomly. Except I can at times make the top speaker work, and not others. And the top speaker shuts off at random whatever I'm doing doesn't matter. Should I get a replacement?
I've noticed that if I squeeze the tablet even slightly to the left of the headphone jack, the top speaker will turn off. It comes back on if I rotate the tablet a couple of times. I noticed it when I had gotten a new cover, thinking somehow the cover was causing it.
Not exactly the case as the cover just happened to clip on to the left of the jack, causing the slight pressure. Gonna see what Asus has to say.

Hi,
I've the same problem with my Nexus 7 2013 32GB WIFI. Did you send your device to Asus? If yes, what did they say? My device is already out of warranty and so I've to repair it by myself. Which parts has to be replaced?

The connector on the motherboard does not grip that of the speaker tightly. It doesn't take much for connection to get loose. Which of course shuts off the speaker. Open the back cover and reseat the speaker wire. The speaker itself rarely goes bad. And if the bottom one and the headphone jack still work, you know that the audio circuit still functions.

I opened the device and unplugged the top speaker and replugged it and closed the device again and now the top speaker works great. Thanks again!
When I put the volume on max and 2 levels below max I hear a buzz after every word when someone calls me.
I don't think this is normal? Do more people facing this buzz? If not, I will return the device!
Thanks

Ok. It is nog a very hard buzz. But it sounds like a part is vibrating because of the high volume. Maybe my speaker is not placed right.
I will send the phone back for repair
Mine doesn't either - Doesn't sound right if you'll excuse the pun !
I have the same issue, on high volume in the earpiece you can hear this buzz nose that sounds like there is a small object in the speaker that jumps on the membrane.
don't have a solution yet, did not buy it in my country so it will not be easy to replace my unit.

Ok I actually found a post on the net, that sounded crazy at first but I tried it anyway and it actually helped!!!
Just thought I would post this as a reference for anybody that is experiencing the "crackling" noise in your ear speaker. My ear speaker recently started crackling very bad and it was hard to hear the person I was on the phone with. Even with the volume turned down about half way, I could still hear a little crackling sound but could barely hear the other person. I thought I had blown the speaker and was about to order a replacement online, when I decided to do some searching. I found the solution. It may sound crazy and a little weird, but it worked for me. To fix the crackling noise, put your mouth on the ear speaker and blown in and suck out. After I did this my speaker worked like normal again. I guess the vacuum and pressure moves the speaker cone and gets it straightened out.

Well, I noticed the same on other handsets in the store. They seem to suffer from the same issue. Hmm, gotta get adjusted to it..
Hey,
I recently got my phone back from an RMA and my the phone's ear speaker doesn't work at all. This prevents me from using my phone as a phone unless I use speaker phone which is not ideal in most situations. I really don't want to send the phone away on another RMA for what is probably a small hardware misconfiguration, does anyone know of how to fix this a resource for doing so? I am having no luck on google.
Thanks,
E. Lensherr.

I had encountered the same problem with my old HTC ONE X. When I searched on net I found that many people like me were there facing this problem. I adopted one suggestion from there and installed a third party app 'SOUNDABOUT'. Now with the help of this third party app sound can be routed via desired channel (Speaker, Head Phone, ear piece or blue tooth devices).
Hope this solves the issue.
Thanks.

Sent my phone in for an RMA (Repair) last week, still waiting on getting it back.
I opened mine up today to replace a cracked screen and kind of looked where the earpiece speaker is behind the mounting frame and kind of push the contacts out a little. Im thinking maybe it wasn't making a good connection. But nonetheless it works now. I dont know if it was because of that or just my luck at taking it apart and putting it back together.
Camera now buzzes like a mosquito and has problems focusing, particularly in low or well lit areas. Do I need to replace the camera hardware itself or is there something I can do to fix? A hard reset & clearing caches did not help.

Mine did this twice, I had too many programs open once and second time I received a call during video recording of newborn meets sister for first time very disturbing to find out after the recording the sound was messed up. At least the video was ok on the baby shot. But the previous the video was shaking also.

Yes, I am good on memory. I agree that the sound is terrible when it does this...Do you still experience this?
Finally, I thought I was the only one. Usually when it starts buzzing I smack it a bit to stop and then I can focus. It's gotten worse and worse though. I'm thinking it might be a hardware issue

No but I did hear the mic making funky buzzing sounds last week and now I'm having battery issues. I'm thinking I may flash my twrp backup file. I need to back up phone first.

I've seen many posts about this around the internet and from what I've read it does seem to be faulty hardware. Not faulty enough that it will cause an issue, but enough that it creates this annoying sound. I've had this buzzing/whirring/mosquito sound (that I can actually feel, holding the phone near the camera) for about 6 months now. I haven't had any issues running any software though. The biggest culprit is using snapchat for me. It happens almost 100% of the time.
I read on some forum(can't remember which at the moment) that if you place a strong magnet by the camera while it's buzzing, the sound should cease. It's not a permanent fix but it's something.

Interesting...
I have deeply considered replacing the camera itself...especially now that the Note 7 is done. I just don't want the hassle of taking this apart.
I woke up today and got on Facebook and started watching some videos and noticed the speakers were crackling really bad. I restarted the phone right away, it came back with the same issue. I toggled the Dolby Atmos off and it got quieter but doesn't seem to be crackle free... I have no clue what's going on, or how to fix it...
Well, I got on Razor chat support and of course it came down to me doing a factory reset... and it still had the issue afterwards.. So, getting a replacement :/
:/
This has happened to me to but ive got an unlocked bootloader and twrp.... Bit nervous about sending it in to razer, had any luck with your replacement?
I'm having the bottom speaker crackling issues. I got in touch with razer and a week later am still waiting for them to send details on where and how to send it back to them. They made me do a video. then had to upload it to YouTube so their engineers can look at it. Very slow and poor customer service.
By the the sound problem is intermittent and happens at various volumes and sometimes not at all.

I replaced my first and second phone due to this. Now i have the third one that does not seem to have the same issue.
Is it crackling or is it vibrating? mine where vibrating so stuck them back down saved a repair and Razer OK'ed me to do it under warranty
The adhesive they used between the phone and the plastic did start to loosen and agreed with razer as the tape was still in place but was exposing some of the speaker. We agreed that the best option for me was to re stick it down with some strong adhesive tape. I took photos of the problem before and told them what i did to repair the problem after reseating mine I no longer had any crackling and sent them a pic after to show them what it looked like and they were still happy to replace the phone for free. I did just say in this case don’t worry about the replacement as I don’t have the time to follow their process but if the phone goes wrong in warranty and ofc covered by warranty that they would be happy to just send me out a replacement phone.
My speaker have that exact same problem ..I contacted. The support for over 3 weeks now and I even made all the steps but noone responsed to that ...I think they now , that they where in trouble

Same here. Factory reset did nothing. Turning of atmos did not fix it either. They ended up replacing the unit. Boy, did I have to jump through a bunch of hoops! Make sure you keep that receipt. Agree that customer service is slow.
