I recently bought a used XDA II. I cannot find the camera nor the album software on it and the button on the right does not work. I am reluctant to do a hard reset as I think that the rom has been updated to the latest version (including the lansacape setting) and eveything works beautifully otherwise and i really do not want to upset this....
Does anyone know of a way to download camera and album ?
I think those guy that used b4 jus downgrade from Wm5 .....
can anyone help me ?
cant believe this got no answer.....
check your settings, the button may simply have been de-activated to stop accidental starting.
the rest will be in there, use file explorer to check.
otherwise you need to flash an extented rom on the device
it should give you the cam software and the likes

Dear All senior members of this forum,
i'm confused in understanding the areas taken care by updating the RADIO ROM of UNIVERSAL. can anyone just list down the benifits for updating a radio rom.
i want to make sure if one has to stay updated with the latest radio rom available of would the stock radio rom (Mine 1.09.00) stays fine forever.
looking forward,
farhaan rehmani
hi farehmani, I'm not a guru nor a senior member. But from what I understand.. updates radio ROMS are musch like the same as updated sortware. It has fixes for old problems like bad reception, low quality call audio... stuff like that.
But from what I've heard, the best radio for you also depends on your carrier/location... so just try all of 'em out. See which works best for you... you can easily change radio ROM versions anyway (no need to do hard reset, a soft reset is enough).
I would say, "if its aint broken, don't fix it"
Generally, the latest radio ROM gives you better reception, better sound quality. There are some people on this forum, who had problems with their device with respect to the latency of their devices in answering the calls. Most of them got it resolved by upgrading their device to the latest radio(ATM, the latest one is 1.15)
So, the bottomline is that if you facing problem(s) with your device regarding its phone part, the, you may consider upgrading the radio
thanx but i have another question...
Thanx for answering,
i asked this question cuz since i updated my pda with Jwrightmcps's ROM 2.02.00 WWE. i am unable to send MMS (there is no problem in settings) as it keeps the mms in the outbox with a pending sign of clock on it after uploading 95 or say 99%. secondly i was unable to sign in the MSN Live with this.
i used Radio 1.13.00. Could this be the problem. cuz i used 1.14.00 and 1.09.00 with previous versions of Win CE ROMS. they worked like a dream.
pls. advise.
farehmani.

the mms problem is not in the radio rom or Jw's rom. you just need to download the cab file with your operator settings and then you will be set.

I concur, it's not really the radio. It's either the WM6 ROM itself or you haven't got the correct settings.
i have read the wiki but still dont get it i can unrar jw newest rom just to get the radio only.but i have radio 15 from other source.how can i put it to my device?thanks
Hi there ,
Well I just purchased a Diamond from a little shop down here in New Zealand . The problems started when I tried to register it on the HTC web site and found I had to go to the hong kong site to get my SN working .. I think that means I got a Parell imported version? Which is mostly cool since this phone hasnt offically been released in NZ .. BUT
I find the interface very laggy, which led me to here . Now I have tried all the tweaks in the tweak section and that has helped a tiny bit , but I think the real answer is going to involve me diving into ROM land . Now here is where I ask for forgiveness in advance, as possibly this info exists elswhere, but I just need a few questions answered before I risk hosing my new toy .
1. what sort of info do I need to know before applying a new ROM? i.e current ROM revision in my phone ,radio ect .. and more importantly how do I determine the ROM or ROMS that are currently in my phone , can i get an exact copy from somewhere
I am not too sure if Changing the rom would do anything to the radio , in fact I dont really 100% get the concept about rom updates vs Radio Rom updadtes .. does the diamond have separate roms for radio ?
So do I need a specfic rom for my region ?
Basicly I want to see if a new rom would help me in terms of the performance of the phone , but dont want to risk loosing anything in terms of radio or telephone calls .
its a good idea to backup your current ROM.. you can search the forums for how to do a ROM dump or look in the wiki.. or you may find that the current ROM on your device is already posted by someone here in the forums.
Flashing the current ROMs released here doesn't update your radio (unless its some official ROM containing a radio in the package). ROM is the operating system, etc.. Radio is the thing controlling radio functions (gsm, wifi, gps, etc). New radio ROM can possibly give better connectivity, battery life, etc.
follow the guide at www.modmydiamond.info for step by step flashing instructions.
hey there and thanks for being kind ,
I guess my worry is that somehow flashing it will prevent things like the FM RADIO program from working , or maybee make it impossible to connect to my phone company or something like that .. Sorry I am really new to this and dont mean to be a pain ..
at this point, i highly doubt that as the ROMs are still quite heavily based on the official ROMs that have come out.. anyway, you could always flash it back but if you're really scared about the consequences, then ROM flashing might not be for you..
nah, I am not THAT worried ha ha , i used to be really scared of the boogieman tho , in the end i looked under my bed at midnight and never worried after that. Going to follow this rteally awesome guide and let you know how I get on
yep all flashed and happy .. next question . is there a way to add all my apps tomtom ect and then somehow dump a ROM including all twaeaks I have made ?
i think you could dump it, but when you flash a different ROM, you can't restore just the tweaks and stuff that way.
do a search in this site for "SASHIMI" it will auto load cabs, and reg files and stuff.. it'll take you a little while to get all your reg files together (i'm doing it now.. zzz.. long overdue) but after that it'll be a snap to flash ROMs and get back up and running.
For all new pro2 users i made a cab for the FM radio found on the first OEM Rhodium posted on the forum.
Update - When i receive my device i'll continue to try and see if the radio is there or not.
thank you
Unfortuntly returns "The file FMRadio cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its component not found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
Am willing to try other thing but i will say am very impressed so far how quick it's working and the fact battery came nearly fully charged
try the new link
Also install the sdkcerts.cab. i'll attach
still no luck i'm afraid
same error ??? did you install sdkcerts and reboot ???
just tried again maybe someone else can try currently i'm having to download via a slightly suspect link until later and at my home computer
Hi
Installed certs, then radio, then soft reset ...
When you run FMRadio you get the message that FMRadio.exe - the file 'FMRadio' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
i.e. what the other person experienced.
Would be nice to see this enabled if possible.
Paul.
guys, try it again !! IT should at least open !!!! and i'm hopping it works
Sometimes error messages are off topic
It might be failing to find the missing hardware component and just giving a general error implying a software component
i need feedback from my last update :S
try and execute fmradio.exe from windows folder !!!
Why should the fm radio be missing ???
http://www.htc.com/nl/product/touchpro2/specification.html
sorry for the dutch .... at the bottom it says "special funtions .... FM RADIO - G sensor" .

It has been taken out already. Look here.
have double triple quadruple checked still no worky with the files above. I'm NOT willing to crack it open to look but software wise i'll give most things a go but i highly suspect it's a no go so internet radio it is for me when i want it
You need to sign any exe's or dlls that you're installing for the FM Radio. I don't have it right now to upload, but there is a certificate signer program that will allow you to run those files
Also, make sure that you have removed the application lock in the registry or it will not allow you to run unsigned programs.
my main problem is that i do not have my pro 2 to test it, so i'm a litle blind here !!!
i have the signer
So is the FM radio hardware there, just not enabled then?
Yes, that's the most likely case. And it may be that HTC enables the FM radio in a future ROM update, just like AT&T did with its most recent touch pro upgrade. However, we should already have proper drivers/software from other devices with identical hardware (i.e. blackstone, raphael, etc.), so why not give it a go and put the "developers" in XDA-Developers, and get our FM radio back!

Well, if the PCB module is there AND the antenna that would be great!
Yes why would they keep the hardware and not enable it. They probably removed the hardware to save cost. Unless the antenna is a track laid out on the PCB.
I prefer pay a little bit more to have the FM HW component (not expensive component)... crazy HTC change...
Hello gurus.
Would some one be so kind to help me to find radio for DIAM140?
So far whatever radio i try - i get No Service message, althought the phone was working before the Radio update.
Please don't point me to the search resuts, they lead to outdated info.
