Because why flood the forums with same problem that has been discussed already and make solving the problem more difficult by dividing the information to several topics about the same thing.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
because the forums werent flooded since this topic hasnt been discussed a lot,
This is a major issue with this device. My Nexus 6 doesn't experience these issues, neither does the iPhone 6. There has been several threads about the problem here and on other sites.

On the hunt for a music player if it exists, as far as I know only the stock music app and play music appear to show support for the id3 tags streaming via Bluetooth.
Now the only app I've really come across with good folder selection is still poweramp, but it appears poweramp doesn't play too well with a2dp as it takes a a few button fidgets to get the player to start playing when connected to Bluetooth.
So at the moment it's trading one feature for the other, id3 tags and somewhat normal music streaming with the stock players, but no folder support so I'm playing everything on my phone, ringtones, notification sounds and music.
Poweramp works well if I'm just using headphones as I can select just my music folder on my extsd. But the lack in id3 tags and initialization of music through a2dp are horrible, but not unbearable.

Going to try UberMusic today as I completely forgot about it until I saw it's awesome ui again.

Mort Player should be the best bet. The close second is winamp (it costs you to have folder function).
Thanks I'm going to look into that as I've been using PowerAmp and realized it has the selective folder function but still no bt id3 tags.

Is there any third party music app that supports playing your google play music files?
Poweramp shows tags over Bluetooth just fine on my Pioneer deck.

Yep, after the update they're supporting it. Found 'the' player. Nice ui and does everything I need. And comes with an eq.

try player pro. It can display id3 embedded album art.

I read this post and now i'm curious. I have a new Alpine car deck with bluetooth. My android 4.1 play's well with the stock app but with poweramp there is no id3 tags.
what Poweramp version do you use ?
Hello all, i was about to start a similar thread on another subforum...
I am looking for a player capable of almost everything you discussed here.
i have tried several but none has came close to what i need :
- Play mp4 (as video or audio -> vlc play it)
- Edit tags directly on the app (comments field in particular)
- display name of the artist - song name on the video during the playback (i am surprise how almost every player only show song name)
- SD Card
- If possible be able to continue to play even if close the book cover of my galaxy tab s
- good bluetooth integration
i can do without the last two but the others are really needed.
thanks for the heads up

I remember I used to be able to play audio out of more than one app at the same time. But since 4.1 I think I can't do that anymore. I run aokp as my rom.
Did google remove that ability in 4.1 by chance? I'd appreciate any suggestions.
i dont think so, could be that particular rom or kernel. Why would you want too anyways that has to be one of the most annoying things in the world...

While playing music with Play Music, it would be nice if email notifications didn't stop the music briefly. I would like to be able to hear both at the same time.

This. Also I like to listen to a police scanner stream at the same time as music. It used to work fine but now I only hear the first one to begin playing.
I've been searching for awhile using many different key words, and don't know exactly how to word what I'm trying to say, but is there an app or any method of capturing the audio signal of anything being played directly by the device?
For example, I listen to a news podcast every day on TuneIn, and sometimes there's a snippet of a news story that I want to share with my friends. The built in TuneIn recorder outputs a proprietary format which is impossible to convert without a PC, and I don't want to spend the time doing that for a 2 minute clip. I'd just like to record it on the fly using my phone, so I can send it via MMS or email (preferably mp3).
Is there a way to record the audio directly from internal soundcard before it hits the speakers? The only way I can do it right now is to record the speaker output with the microphone via voice recorder, and obviously the quality is poor at best.
Thanks
Ok. This might seem really weird, and certainly not what the app is intended for. But..I think this might work for you. I use beyond pod as a player, whether that matters or not, idk. I also have an app called Ringdroid. This app allows you to take any audio file on your phone and edit it/slice it, and turn it into a ringtone. When I open ringdroid, all my podcast audio files are also there as options to slice and dice. I can slide the slider to where I want the cut to begin, and another slider to where I want it to end. Then hit save, and it's saved in my sd. Might work?

Dude, really? Did you read my post? I have TuneIn Pro and it outputs a proprietary format, not a format I can share unless my friend has TuneIn Pro also .

You can try File Converter from play store. That application converts audio files, video files, text files, and many more to the format that you want. Then you can share with whoever you want via email or text.

No, I'm just lying and made everything up to play a joke on XDA members. Just recorded 4 different clips on 4 different stations, and it places files corresponding only to the TuneIn application in the TuneIn Radio folder along with a .nomedia file. Adding a .mp3 to the files doesn't help, all the audio applications say "Cannot open file type."
Search Google and you'll find plenty of other discussions about this, so let me ask you, are you sure it records in mp3? Because your case is not the common one.
Oh, and don't litter in my thread and insult my intelligence with nothing useful to add to the topic. Now **** off.

I couldn't find anything posted already, and just wanted to know if there is a list of supported files types with the Moto 360. All my music is in lossless format at the moment and wanted to see what format I would need for syncing to the device itself. I have scoured google several times for an answer, but have ever found one myself. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks =)
Its based on gMusic so presumably the support should be the same.
There is no music or video stored on the watch it is used as a remote to whatever audio or video player that you use on your phone

Wrong, any music you download on the Google Play Music app on the phone can be uploaded to the Watch. (tick the "Download to Android Wear" in the Google Play Music settings)

Stands corrected
I did not know that bit of information since i quit using google play music app years ago and keep it disabled; here is some good articles on it http://www.droid-life.com/2014/10/24/how-to-store-music-on-android-wear-for-offline-playback/ http://www.androidcentral.com/play-music-android-wear-how-use-it-and-what-it-still-needs but it has limitations; storage on watch 4GB, that is for all apps and music you will run out fast, play music makes it is extremely clunky to pick individual songs (see the android central article) , but my biggest concern would be battery life, (that streaming Bluetooth connection to you headset will eat the battery alive.) .

Probably easiest just to create a Moto360 playlist and sync that one.
Hi all.
just wondering what everyone is using Music app wise on their head units?
I'm using the default which is on my Eonon Head unit but i find that the "random" function always ends up playing the same songs over again.
Just looking for something that will work great with the head unit and will give a random or shuffle option? possibly if it can show cover art as well?
thanks

I'm really enjoying using Google play music on mine.
Obviously you need data but all my music is uploaded to the free version and it's got all box art and suggests mixes associated with your music taste ect.
I use DSub to stream music off my server at home. It works well and my entire music library is at my fingertips. You need data but the app will cache songs so you don't have to re-download songs (or don't have a data connection while driving through a remote area).

I'm surprised at how little I see this suggested. The majority of the reason I want an Android head unit is so i can use Google Play Music straight from the head unit. I have plenty of data, so I dont have to worry about it, but if you are worried about data, you can set Google Play Music to download songs and cache on wifi
I cant make the Poweramp works fine... (
