[Q] Supported audio files. - Moto 360

I couldn't find anything posted already, and just wanted to know if there is a list of supported files types with the Moto 360. All my music is in lossless format at the moment and wanted to see what format I would need for syncing to the device itself. I have scoured google several times for an answer, but have ever found one myself. Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks =)

Its based on gMusic so presumably the support should be the same.

There is no music or video stored on the watch it is used as a remote to whatever audio or video player that you use on your phone

Wrong, any music you download on the Google Play Music app on the phone can be uploaded to the Watch. (tick the "Download to Android Wear" in the Google Play Music settings)

Stands corrected
I did not know that bit of information since i quit using google play music app years ago and keep it disabled; here is some good articles on it http://www.droid-life.com/2014/10/24/how-to-store-music-on-android-wear-for-offline-playback/ http://www.androidcentral.com/play-music-android-wear-how-use-it-and-what-it-still-needs but it has limitations; storage on watch 4GB, that is for all apps and music you will run out fast, play music makes it is extremely clunky to pick individual songs (see the android central article) , but my biggest concern would be battery life, (that streaming Bluetooth connection to you headset will eat the battery alive.) .

True on all counts, I'm going to try it while working out to see how much it kills the watch.

sweet, will be interested to hear about this

Probably easiest just to create a Moto360 playlist and sync that one.

deezer (orange swapables)

Managed to get deezer working as an orange swap able on my nexus. This gives me a premium account and therefore the ability to download tracks for offline listening. Very impressed so far. Music choice seems varied but bear in mind I'm 40 so my tastes might not be everyone's ....
The android app seems a little clunky and I can't see any way to play downloaded tracks in any other app.... has anyone managed this???
To get the swap able working use dolphin browser and convince it you are on a GS2. Will post the string later if anyone is interested ......
I've been very impressed with the deezer service.
I to looked for a way to play offline music in another app. My guess is the deezer app caches the files in an unreadable format. Similar to how google music does. There is an app available now that is able to convert cached files from google music into a readable format and let you play them in another music application. I doubt it would work with deezer. But someone could release something similar.

Struggling to understand how the "my mp3s" bit works. It doesn't seem to find existing music on my phone and half the instructions are in french
it didnt find any of my music.
I have a question for you guys. Can you play songs on the Deezer website? I'm getting really frustrated with how it changes all the time!
At first I couldn't, then it started working for a few weeks. Then it stopped working again for a couple of weeks. And then since then I've been using the Deezer website for unlimited music for ages. At least I think that's how it's been, basically it's been on and off!
Now today I went to play music and it had put me on to a free account and I had to activate my Orange subscription (for like the 3rd time now, does it do this every month or something?!), and now I can't listen to music on the website. It's killing me because I use it allll the time on my laptop!
if it is still actual:
i've been looking into the files deezer stores lately and found out:
they are mp3s!
they just hash them before they save them and then somehow decode them when it's playing.
if someone is interrested to know more about it and understands java quite good let me know and i'll hook you up with the info you need
I'd be interested in finding out how to save the hashed MP3. There are quite a few albums on there I've downloaded and as I swap my phone regular but the limit on freezer mobile devices is two.
Cheers
Gurry

Any news?
Hi guys.
Any news on deezer decrypting music?
I also found out they're mp3-s, but can't get a way to dehash them by any possible chance, Anyone had any luck?

Itunes alternative

Is there a program I can use as Itunes, sync it to all the music stored on my PC (even though Apple has rearranged it and taken over)?

iSyncr try that
I using MediaMonkey (http://www.mediamonkey.com/) to sync my music from pc with HOX. It can also sync music from I devices as well.
Thanks guys.
Windows Media Player (Free and built-in to Windows) also works. I actually use WMP to sync to a USB drive that I leave plugged into my computer, and then use FolderSync on my phone to automatically sync with that drive over WiFi.
You could also try Google Music: upload your music collection (free for storing up to 20.000 songs) into the cloud, and download locally on your phone what you want to listen.
Google Music is US only at the moment, but you can find some tutorials on how to use it outside of the US.
JP.
I like Double Twist. Very nice interface on the Android app, with the added bonus of serving as an airplay source, so I can stream music and video from the One X to my XBMC setup via wifi. The desktop app is quite simple, but has wifi sync and a number of other good features.
From what I know the closest (aside from the ones mentioned above) application to iTunes is DoubleTwist
use mediamonkey with playerpro on the device, then, using the sync back ratings extension in MM, you can accurately record plays, skips and ratings back to MM. you can then build smart playlists to exclude tracks you have skipped many times and have the device sync'd to that playlist.
How about an App that fools Itunes into thinking the X is an iPod? I guess that's impossible lol
use notpod. im using it with my one x to itunes. works a treat
Doubletwist products are on sale on the market right now
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I tried Notpod, it was overly complicated. Doubletwist cured my ills in seconds
I stick with Media Monkey to,i think is the best out there at this moment (i even forgot about winamp since i am using MM).
I use my ipod to play music in my car's head unit...is there an app and cable that enables me to use my phone instead, including album art?
I use doubletwist with air sync. In my opinion itunes is one of the most hideous programs ever written.

Hell yeah, i hate it with a passion, so pointlessly complicated.
I know it's an old thread, but I've just decided to make that jump too, so tried MediaMonkey and found its layout to be out of date and unhelpful as well as ugly, just trying Double twist now.
---------- Post added at 08:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:46 PM ----------
Well that didn't last long, in the 4 years since this thread, Double Twist only works in tandem with iTunes not as a replacement. So the search continues....

Why not try something universal like Syncthing if you want to run the service via wifi?
Or FreeFileSync or DirSync Pro if you prefer using the usb cable.
In perfect conditions you should get max 300mps = 37.5 MB/s via wifi versus via usb 480mps = 60 MB/s.
You don't need the library support that Itunes give you. Android supports file managing. Most media player apps support both library view with metadata from either .cue etc or embedded in the file, and file folder view.

Best music player?

I am on the hunt for the best music playing app. I currently use Google Music, as it is one of the best I have used to date. My problem is with the new limitation on devices I am eventually no longer going to be able to use it because I flash new roms all the time.
I don't want to store all my music on my SD because it is not exactly the most efficient way for me. I want to be able to stream my library just like the way Google Music does it, but I can't find anything that works as nice.
I'm sure I will not be the only one that will encounter this problem with the stupid limitation thing.
Any ideas???
I thought Google had fixed that a couple weeks ago? Have you tried checking on the Google Music webpage on your computer?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA
Yea, Google responded pretty quickly to that uproar
http://www.androidmag.com/google-resolves-music-device-de-authorization-issue-now
I'm all for Google Music because of the cloud integration. I still find it amazing that I walk around with my 15,000 songs and 100+ playlists in my pocket.
I believe the stock audio player for CM9, Apollo, will also be a market app if I'm not mistaken. Anything from those guys is definitely worth checking out
thanks. I didn't know they fixed it. I cleaned up my device list now. Let's just hope that they don't put a limit on this in the future.

What is the best music app?

So there are several different music streaming services out there, who in essence have the same music and pricing structure.
What I am asking is which has the best performing app (not service) on Android 4?
My vote is Deezer as I use it daily on my Desire and it is quite good but not perfect.
Rdio looks like a very well developed app, whereas Spotify has several negative reviews.
Opinions?
I love turntable.fm when it works lol.
And I like soundcloud as well.
Normally I use Sony music Unlimited because of the sheer number of albums available unfortunately it isn't available officially for the nexus and the side load crashes.
I've fallen back to Pandora, tune in and rdio

Most of the time I use Google Play Music since I've got over 1k songs already up, and they let you have a max of 20k songs. I can't imagine being able to find 20k songs that I actually like. No syncing across my computer/phone/tablet, just upload the files once into Google Play Music and then stream it anywhere.
The rest of the time I use Pandora.
So is Google Play Music the online store to rival iTunes that is only available in the US? Or is it the Android "Music" app to play local MP3s?
Pandora is interesting but also only in the US...!

Agreed. Our N7 is our first tablet, and first Android device and I immediately liked the 20,000 song storage ability.
Love xda, getting some great ideas from just browsing around here. :good:

Google Play Music lets you store songs you own, in the "Google Cloud", allowing you to play your songs from your phone/tablet/pc. You literally can upload all your mp3s into it - no questions asked.
You can also play music locally with it. And then the Google Play store also has music you can purchase which is added to your collection.

How do i store music in the cloud? I have like 10 gigs of music on my phone I wanna share at least some with my nexus 7.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I know Deezer lets you do the same as Play Music. You can upload to the "My MP3s" section of your Deezer account and stream them through the app.
It works quite well, but in Offline Mode obviously only the albums you download are available not any of the My MP3s tracks.
Also one flaw of Deezer is you cannot sync a single track for Offline playback, only full Albums.
My favorites in favorite order:
N7
Google Music
Cubed
Jango
I do own Poweramp, but like N7 better. I find Jango much nicer than Pandora. Cubed is just visually cool. I use Google Music on my PC at work 90% of the day.
edit:: sorry, I missed the "streaming" comment. Therefore GM and Jango only.
For playing music, the answer is simple - Neutron. It is amazing. What's even better is that you can get a special version for Tegra devices. Here's a link:

You want the NeutronMP_64.apk. If you are an audiophile like me, then you will be in heaven. Grab a good pair of headphones (NuForce is an amazing brand that not many people know about) and enjoy!!

i think the only way to upload is to install the music manager on your pc. you'll then select the folders you want it to upload.
NeutonMP is awesome for its sound quality , but I hate its interface. I love n7 player interface but their sound quality isnt as awesome as neutonMP.
I'd bought both Poweramp and N7 and switch between them. Using Poweramp more and more. Like the album art display much better, more sound adjustments (not that it matters much on a Nexus 7). N7 starting losing album art (or not finding it), so it's not getting used much.

Decent Music app for Car Head unit?

Hi all.
just wondering what everyone is using Music app wise on their head units?
I'm using the default which is on my Eonon Head unit but i find that the "random" function always ends up playing the same songs over again.
Just looking for something that will work great with the head unit and will give a random or shuffle option? possibly if it can show cover art as well?
thanks

biggest problem is lack of ram, any solutions?
A gig isn't enough?
I'm really enjoying using Google play music on mine.
Obviously you need data but all my music is uploaded to the free version and it's got all box art and suggests mixes associated with your music taste ect.
I use DSub to stream music off my server at home. It works well and my entire music library is at my fingertips. You need data but the app will cache songs so you don't have to re-download songs (or don't have a data connection while driving through a remote area).

I'm surprised at how little I see this suggested. The majority of the reason I want an Android head unit is so i can use Google Play Music straight from the head unit. I have plenty of data, so I dont have to worry about it, but if you are worried about data, you can set Google Play Music to download songs and cache on wifi
I cant make the Poweramp works fine... (
