So lately my double tap to wake stopped working. I still have gesture motions enabled, and the phone vibrates on the double tap so I know it's registering, it just doesn't turn the screen on. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm running SkyDragon version 3.0.4, android 5.01
Try reflashing the rom, without wiping. Or clean flash if not.
Or try another rom, to see if that works.
Mine is not working all the time as well, just started happening. Contacted HTC and they ran me through some sort of cache reset and it didn't seem to work. I've had the phone almost a year now, adult owned, no drops, no cracked screen, phone is in perfect condition.

I rooted my brother's slide a while back and installed a stock froyo based rom (I'm not sure which one). He had been having some minor issues with his phone (no big deal) and I had been planning to switch him over to cyanogenmod, but this morning his screen would not go to sleep no matter what he did. It just wakes up immediately. He suspects that the device is registering a push on the optical trackpad, because when he tried to restart the phone, it auto selects and sometimes confirms options for him in the popup menu. The trackpad wake seems to be preventing the phone from sleeping, but it could also be something else.
I thought the best course of action would be to install CM6 (he had the older clockwork recovery so I thought i'd put the stable 6.1 on there to walk him through the steps while I wasn't physically present to mess with his phone). The installation went perfectly, but the problem is persisting. If i'm not mistaken, cm6 comes with a custom kernel of its own so that's probably not the issue. Also, for some reason, when his phone wakes up after attempting to be locked, it now briefly shows the lock screen and jumps ahead to the recent apps screen (as if the home button has been long pressed).
This problem is baffling us. If any of you have any ideas what might be wrong I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys.
EDIT: I thought it would be worth mentioning that in recovery, the trackpad function seems to be normal (according to him). He's several hundred miles away from me at the moment so I haven't seen the issue up close myself.
I'm using my dad's Note 10.1 (2014) and I've been experiencing some problems. The screen would randomly just turn off (but it doesn't shut down) when I looked away. I thought it was the smart eye detection feature thingy but when I checked, it was already turned off. Another problem is that the home button and/or the capacitive just randomly stops working. Had to reboot the device in order to get it working again. At first I thought it was some hardware problem but I'm pretty sure it isn't. So yeah. Does anyone face the same problems? I've heard this device have some software issues that causes this but after some searching I got no answers.
Hi
I have your problem too. i have thiss issue on Stock rom. i use for one day Resurrection Remix ROM. i havn't see this issue.
Hello,
I'm on stock rom, nothing fancy installed on my #HTC10 however I am unable to wake the phone by double tap to wake when its locked. I tried it all including cache wipe, factory reset, calibrating g sensor... Nothing fixed the problem.
Any suggestions?

Just one idea: Did you maybe accidentially disable the gesture in the menu?

Greetings,

It sometimes stops working. You need to disable it and re-enable it in the gestures menu for it to work again.
to me it does not work. just did reset but nothing. nougat 2.41.401.3
It's not working for me sometimes, but sometimes works.

Are you trying it while the phone is lying on a table? It's only working if you hold your Phone upright.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA Labs

I am holding it in portrait. I tried all combinations and could not get it to work. I took it to HTC Service, lets see if they can figure it out.
Its such a disappointment...

Hi did you manage to resolve this? My phone started doing the same, after I got it from service with a replacement screen. Sideeffect was, that it didn't respond to touch in recovery mode either.
I took it to htc service once again, they fixed the issue in 2 weeks or so. They told me the phone had to be updated to a new software although I had the latest version of Nougat then. So although it did not make too much sense I am glad the phone is working fine now
I'm not as lucky as u, I changed the LCD three times still not working the SC said it's HTC 10 issue where the LCD always with the motherboard.. Only solution is to keep testing with the parts till it works. It took me a month plus for testing two batches of the part. Still the same, I collect my phone back with dissapointment.
It's amazing how these things still happen to htc 10
Hi there,
I installed the latest stable 10.0.1.0 ROM from Xiaomi.eu (OEICNFH) for whyred, and I noticed that after a completely clean install, the screen seems to "wake up" around once an hour as if someone touched the power button.
I've done another CLEAN flash (wiping everything), and left it there immediately following the install, and still it happens. I'm not getting any notifications but for some reason every hour and a bit, the lockscreen turns on for about 5 seconds and then fades back to black. I'm not touching the phone at this point and I haven't installed anything, so I'm wondering if there is something communicating with the device.
I tried disabling any sort of double tap to wake or raise to wake, but it still persists. I'm also rooted and trying freezing all the Mi Cloud, Mi Account....etc and Mi related apps, but still it persists. Any thoughts? Everything else seems to work ok, but it's very annoying.
Have you tried any custom rom and check if problem persist.
I have the same issue on mi max 3 fully stock and it drives me bonkers!!!
Happened to me also. Turned out there was a ghost in our house. Called the priest and he said the magic words to cast the ghost away. Now the screen doesn't turn on by itself.
JUST KIDDING.
Try to set your phone on airplane mode, if the screen doesn't turn on when in airplane mode then maybe it is a service that is doing it.
And also try to install Wakelock Detector to find out what is causing it.

Hey everyone,
couldn't find a topic about this yet so here I am. I recently got a Mi A2 lite and happily unlocked it, rooted it and so on. Worked perfectly fine till yesterday. Then suddenly it started to freeze. Meaning the fingerprint sensor didn't have any reaction anymore. I couldn't use the screen anymore either. I was able to start the screen by pressing the power button once, it was also possible to press it twice to start the camera or keep pressing it to show the restart menu or forcefully restart it, but no matter what I did I couldn't interact with anything on the screen. So I had to forcefully restart the phone and then it was working fine again until some time later.... I've had it like 6 times in 90 minutes so I decided to make a clean install and see what happens. Rooted the phone again and it was the same once again... Didn't change anything.
Now I locked my phone again (getting ready to send it back) and will try "stock" and see if the root has anything to do with it.
My guess is that it's a hardware problem but before I send it back I wanted to check if anyone here has another idea or solution.
Thanks in advance
Edit: Stock isn't working either, error still happening. I'm returning it.
