Hi there,
I installed the latest stable 10.0.1.0 ROM from Xiaomi.eu (OEICNFH) for whyred, and I noticed that after a completely clean install, the screen seems to "wake up" around once an hour as if someone touched the power button.
I've done another CLEAN flash (wiping everything), and left it there immediately following the install, and still it happens. I'm not getting any notifications but for some reason every hour and a bit, the lockscreen turns on for about 5 seconds and then fades back to black. I'm not touching the phone at this point and I haven't installed anything, so I'm wondering if there is something communicating with the device.
I tried disabling any sort of double tap to wake or raise to wake, but it still persists. I'm also rooted and trying freezing all the Mi Cloud, Mi Account....etc and Mi related apps, but still it persists. Any thoughts? Everything else seems to work ok, but it's very annoying.
Have you tried any custom rom and check if problem persist.
I have the same issue on mi max 3 fully stock and it drives me bonkers!!!
Happened to me also. Turned out there was a ghost in our house. Called the priest and he said the magic words to cast the ghost away. Now the screen doesn't turn on by itself.
JUST KIDDING.
Try to set your phone on airplane mode, if the screen doesn't turn on when in airplane mode then maybe it is a service that is doing it.
And also try to install Wakelock Detector to find out what is causing it.

So lately my double tap to wake stopped working. I still have gesture motions enabled, and the phone vibrates on the double tap so I know it's registering, it just doesn't turn the screen on. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm running SkyDragon version 3.0.4, android 5.01
Try reflashing the rom, without wiping. Or clean flash if not.
Or try another rom, to see if that works.
Mine is not working all the time as well, just started happening. Contacted HTC and they ran me through some sort of cache reset and it didn't seem to work. I've had the phone almost a year now, adult owned, no drops, no cracked screen, phone is in perfect condition.
Hey everyone,
couldn't find a topic about this yet so here I am. I recently got a Mi A2 lite and happily unlocked it, rooted it and so on. Worked perfectly fine till yesterday. Then suddenly it started to freeze. Meaning the fingerprint sensor didn't have any reaction anymore. I couldn't use the screen anymore either. I was able to start the screen by pressing the power button once, it was also possible to press it twice to start the camera or keep pressing it to show the restart menu or forcefully restart it, but no matter what I did I couldn't interact with anything on the screen. So I had to forcefully restart the phone and then it was working fine again until some time later.... I've had it like 6 times in 90 minutes so I decided to make a clean install and see what happens. Rooted the phone again and it was the same once again... Didn't change anything.
Now I locked my phone again (getting ready to send it back) and will try "stock" and see if the root has anything to do with it.
My guess is that it's a hardware problem but before I send it back I wanted to check if anyone here has another idea or solution.
Thanks in advance
Edit: Stock isn't working either, error still happening. I'm returning it.
New RN8T eea stable locked bootloader. One day it worked cool and then it began. First problem screen never goes off, it works all the time and doesn't want to lock, despite the fact that in the settings sleep is activated after 15 or 30 seconds, no matter what. Strangely enough, the problem disappears in airplane mode, unfortunately it returns after turning it off. The second problem concerns the youtube application, the control panel like pause or time shift does not disappear automatically, it also turns on by itself at random moments. Again, the problem disappears in airplane mode, but returns after turning it off. Factory reset has already been done twice. I encountered a similar problem with youtube earlier on the Internet and apparently it helped disable or kill accessibility, unfortunately it did not help, even removal by adb did nothing. Alternatives like Vanced or OGYoutube work even worse because the control panel never disappears. I thought that both problems may be related to ghost touch, but after a short test nothing like this occurs. I was thinking about unlocking the bootloader and throwing a custom to check if these problems are also there, but once it's a friend's smartphone, two before I get permission to unlock it, it will be a week. In the end it will probably be done, but by then maybe someone will find some magic solution?
Hi all,
I have a really strange problem with my Note 8T.
No matter what sleep timer I set it at, it stays awake and I have to manually turn it off.
When I press power, double-tap to wake and it goes to the lock screen it turns the screen off as per usual (few seconds).
But if I leave it on the launcher or the settings page for the lock screen etc, it doesn't turn off.
I have never had this problem before with phones or tablets (some of them really cheap ones).
I can set it to 15 secs, 1 minute, etc, but no, it still stays on.
I've gone into Developer settings and made sure the keep screen on while charging (though this isn't the problem) was off!
I've factory reset 3 times (and I've only had it a week).
I contacted the seller (through Amazon UK) and am really considering returning it (which I don't really want to do)!
I'm assuming it's a problem with the screen, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem and if there was a solution!
I really like this phone, it can be sluggish sometimes but I can live with that.
The screen not going off though, not only is that a screen and battery problem, but a security issue too.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
All the best in these trying times!
I suppose you could try reinstalling your ROM first and/or try to check if autolock works without installing any additional applications. If reinstalling helped, then it was a potential ROM bug. If autolock works without any additional apps installed, then some application might be working permanently in the background and disallowing autolock. If all that didn't help, you might want to get a replacement then I suppose..?

A few times a day when trying to turn my screen on to use my Poco F3, it will briefly flash on, and then immediately off, trying again results in the same outcome, and only waiting a few minutes or hard restarting my phone solves the problem.
I am using crDroid 7.9, and do not have a screen protector.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I'm sure it's crDroid. I don't use it personally, but it sounds likely. I'd update crDroid, or wait for an update.
Switch off pocket detection, seems like it bugs and it's allways detecting it is inside a pocket and not turn on.
