A few times a day when trying to turn my screen on to use my Poco F3, it will briefly flash on, and then immediately off, trying again results in the same outcome, and only waiting a few minutes or hard restarting my phone solves the problem.
I am using crDroid 7.9, and do not have a screen protector.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?

I'm sure it's crDroid. I don't use it personally, but it sounds likely. I'd update crDroid, or wait for an update.
Switch off pocket detection, seems like it bugs and it's allways detecting it is inside a pocket and not turn on.

does anybody had the same problem? and how can i solve the problem?((((
have u tried a hard reset? ive never had this problem so i dont know, tho i guess if u sync with pc and save all all your wanted files and do a hard reset, it may sort it.
i've already tried hard reset, rom updating etc...
the problem is still there...((
i've switch "turn off the phone after 3 minutes" off, maybe it would help...
because problem was appearing most of the time if device was lying for 10-20 minutes without working...
update: nope, it's still black(
Think you have a bad device. A problem that is know is that the backlight will turn itself of (but you can still see the screen). This is some times the case with mine and I have the 1.40 rom, however I have had this problem with other roms so it must be some software that I use.
i'm also thinking so...
now i noticed that if you turn the device on and get a black screen, if you wait a minute he will switch the screen on. but why?
good day personal, my cell phone has a problem and can not solve.
often the device turns itself off, entering a kind of standby, where the screen goes black and lit buttons. But do not do anything, I have to reincia it, which often can only with the connection with the USB.
sometimes also the applications close one by one, this process stopped ... until the phone get the dark screen.
someone knows how to solve?

Maybe just try to install another rom.
Have you tried a reset? Otherwise, install a custom ROM.
Sounds like a software bug. Use a custom rom!

Hi everybody,
Is anybody else having the issue that the screen starts blinking (turning off and on) when you turned the screen off and later back on again?
At the moment I can use my phone only right after rebooting, after that the screen will keep going on and off till I reboot.
I have experienced this a couple times so far. The screen just keeps waking up a few seconds after it turns off (either from timeout or manually turning it off) and it loops until I reboot.
Interestingly it also happened on my 6P once. It might be an Android 7 issue or a rogue app? I think it happened to my 6P before I got the 7.1 beta OTA.
Kicking this one up cause I get the feeling I bought a broken phone.
I also checked and when I do a factory reset the screen flashing also happens during the setup wizard.
Hi there,
I installed the latest stable 10.0.1.0 ROM from Xiaomi.eu (OEICNFH) for whyred, and I noticed that after a completely clean install, the screen seems to "wake up" around once an hour as if someone touched the power button.
I've done another CLEAN flash (wiping everything), and left it there immediately following the install, and still it happens. I'm not getting any notifications but for some reason every hour and a bit, the lockscreen turns on for about 5 seconds and then fades back to black. I'm not touching the phone at this point and I haven't installed anything, so I'm wondering if there is something communicating with the device.
I tried disabling any sort of double tap to wake or raise to wake, but it still persists. I'm also rooted and trying freezing all the Mi Cloud, Mi Account....etc and Mi related apps, but still it persists. Any thoughts? Everything else seems to work ok, but it's very annoying.
Have you tried any custom rom and check if problem persist.
I have the same issue on mi max 3 fully stock and it drives me bonkers!!!
Happened to me also. Turned out there was a ghost in our house. Called the priest and he said the magic words to cast the ghost away. Now the screen doesn't turn on by itself.
JUST KIDDING.
Try to set your phone on airplane mode, if the screen doesn't turn on when in airplane mode then maybe it is a service that is doing it.
And also try to install Wakelock Detector to find out what is causing it.

New RN8T eea stable locked bootloader. One day it worked cool and then it began. First problem screen never goes off, it works all the time and doesn't want to lock, despite the fact that in the settings sleep is activated after 15 or 30 seconds, no matter what. Strangely enough, the problem disappears in airplane mode, unfortunately it returns after turning it off. The second problem concerns the youtube application, the control panel like pause or time shift does not disappear automatically, it also turns on by itself at random moments. Again, the problem disappears in airplane mode, but returns after turning it off. Factory reset has already been done twice. I encountered a similar problem with youtube earlier on the Internet and apparently it helped disable or kill accessibility, unfortunately it did not help, even removal by adb did nothing. Alternatives like Vanced or OGYoutube work even worse because the control panel never disappears. I thought that both problems may be related to ghost touch, but after a short test nothing like this occurs. I was thinking about unlocking the bootloader and throwing a custom to check if these problems are also there, but once it's a friend's smartphone, two before I get permission to unlock it, it will be a week. In the end it will probably be done, but by then maybe someone will find some magic solution?
