i know it sound weird but, yesterday i bought an htc one m9 its a new one., everything works flawlessly on it received update etc.. earlier today i saw something under the gorilla protection like dust i didnt care much as i though it was a deadpixel then some hours later meaning just now i saw another thing which is definitely not a deadpixel, its a dust. does anyone know how to solve this problem? and is anyone facing the same problem as me?

Bro, I think you must replace your handset. It must be a defected one.

:/ yes me too i think so..cause there is a gap between the metal frame and the screen and thats where dusts is getting in.. thanks bro
Isn't the digitiser fused to the screen to prevnt dust getting underneath? Wouldn't want to go back in time and get dust inside like the Desire and Sensation I had! Certainly never a spec got under my M7.

I notice a piece of lint under the glass on my desire. Not highly noticable, but still... I suppose its kind of impossible to make a screen thatsize and have it sealed with zero foreign objects undreneath? I read that this was a common problem with the nexus one. not sure if its common on Desire, or if the dust was there when I bought it, or got in in the last 3 days.
I wouldn't consider replacing it or anything, not over that. Maybe over a dead pixel, buit not some lint. anyone else notice anything under their glass?
yup got same, a tiny piece above the menu key, about 2 mil from the bottom edge of the screen. not enough for me to send it back though.
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
yeah I read quite a few threads on the matter. Theres a good chance you'd get the same in a replacement model so not worth it if its minor. Loving the phone though. some piece of kit
I didn't notice anything under the glass screen so far. I got mine on March 27th.

Well that's not true. I have had an HD2 for several months now and as we know it has an even bigger screen than the desire.
My point is that I have absolutely NO dust particles under my glass. I have looked and looked, under sunlight etc. NO dust. Why? Cus on the HD2, the LCD is glued to the glass/digitizer wich makes it impossible for dust to get in. On the Desire, I believe this is not the case wich means dust will eventually build up under there with time.

Alas you are right. I have more dust under my screen than I did when I got the phone 2 months ago. So... I guess it's not airtight. well, not that I expected it would be. maybe they could not glue the amoled screen to the digitiser/glass in the amoled screens. who knows.
solution
ive posted a reply about this on the phone restarting thread. essentially htc said that BOTH the dust and phone restarting are their problem so ive had the phone replaced within a week
This is a massive problem with the Topaz. Dust gets in by the top of the volume key. Thankfully it's only noticeable with the phone switched off, so it's not serious issue, just very prevalent.
HTC need to improve their sealing process between digitisers and their screens.
I had dust under the screen after 1 week on the left hand side. Pretty bad design fault from HTC if you ask me. On my old HTC Magic dust came in from the speaker grille and then fell down from the top of the screen.
Back on the desire though I got a case and screen protector from amazon and no more dust has appeared since then.

They offered to take it in for repair (as opposed to replacement). Ah well. I'll hold onto it as its minor. I heard of some guy on here sending it off for repair only to get it back with more dust in it than originally.
I think the best thing is to examine the unit on the first day of purchase with a fine tooth comb. If anything is wrong then send it back to clove or hantec or whoever for a direct swap replacement. Next time... When Desires future heir is born I will do that.
I read about screem gap but i was unsure what exactly was meant. I just took a closer look and found out that there is a tiny gap between my screen and phone on top in which dirt fills in and it pisses me off. I havent dropped my screen once and if i push the top left part of my phone i can hear a sort of "click".does that make my phone faulty? Im really annoyed vy the dirt that fills in... Apart from rhat phone has no problems.

send it back. that is what i am doing. left hand side of the phone between the screen and the plastic you can see dust getting inside there to. plus if you press the left hand side tad hard you can hear it creaking as well. i called HTC to see if they could replace it for me straight away without sending it for repairs..waiting for an outcome tomorrow...if they say no i will just send it for repairs and hope they find the problem and either fix it or replace it then...i know it will drag for a week but at least that way you know one way or the other it will get fixed...
i was going to say if it does not bug you then leave it..but you sound just like me that even though the phone works fine it will bug you cause you know it is there
should i go to my provider or directly cpntact htc? And just to understand it better. Gaps are not supposed to be there, am i right?

Dont replace it as you have no other problems. Go to HTC repair center and just fix it. If you replace there may be a chance of getting more faultier one.

It amazes me some of the reasons people will find to return an otherwise perfect handset. Considering the amount of serious problems floating about this phone, I don't think a creak or 1mm gap between the bezel and screen constitutes a return. Get over it and enjoy the phone.

Ive heard that the one x was made in 2 different countrys taiwan and china... china being the worst built ones buttt I must have a really faulty dhd. I've had it for 10 months now and my screen moves, doesn't fit right on the phone as there should be a lip round it but isn't my speaker isn't straight so is sloping. Looks like the cnc machine hasn't cut it right. Power button is really recessed too far in..... I think a little sqweek is nothing to really worry about if the screen falls out then ya I'd send it back.

well that is what worries me about the whole damn thing..if it gets to hot to soon and in two months down the line the screen actually does fall out
TBH ive just checked mine and it does have a slight gap with lint building up already (bare in mind ive had this phone 2 days) Also have the yellow blotch on the screen AND a dead pixel. This is by far the best phone ive ever owned...But my word these little niggles are grating on my moobs! Ive never had to send a phone off to a repair centre before but im not really willing to put up with the problems the phone has (however ridiculously small they seem to some ) You expect some software issues in an early batch, but dead pixels, discoloured screens, gaps occuring out of nowhere between the screen, its a bit much really! Im gunna have to get it sent off soon i think, gutted!

Vacuum cleaner with a soft piece of cloth on the vacuum tube to avoid scratches.
Just another option
To the OP: May I ask what serial your phone has?

Do you even realize how big 1mm is?!!!! Get a ruler and see please....
I doubt even a blind person could enjoy a phone with a gap big as that. You would not just see this, but also feel.
I have a gap that's about 0,1-2 mm big (measuring with paper, which is about that in average I think 0,1 till 0,3 I think but also not sure) and its around the whole screen on both sides of the ring.
Ugh...1mm...
But seriously guys, how big are the gaps it makes you return it?
I mean should I return it with 0,1 mm ? (maybe less) seen a bigger gap on SGS 2.
Hi guys
Seems like my lens' front glass is doing some kind of micromovement, as if the glue wore off, melted or something.. Anyone else having this? Do you think it's some big deal or should I ignore it? Thx

Don't think I can, it's so small I'm not even sure there is some movement.. Though I'll try
I can confirm this, guess the glue gets weak. Didn't cause any problem though

I have experienced the same issue.
When new, my HOX camera glass sat about half a mm out from the metal rim. Now with everyday use it has been pushed back inside the metal rim, it sits about half a mm inside.
Not sure if its related but my camera no longer focuses anymore, no matter what rom.

Mine also did that... Also the glass was very scratched.
I was sending it in for repairs (other reasons, wifi and screen distortions) and I also mentioned the camera glass thing.
They replaced the mainboard, battery and cover

Don't think it's related actually, though I think the camera might be a bit unsure about focus, as if the focus lens (which are not the front-protection lens) were unstable or something.. But can't proof anything, I'm not sure if it has always been a bit like that or what.. No big deal anyway.
So I'm not the only one having this problem, at least it's not giving any issues anyway!
Hello everyone,
few days ago, my sister's almost brand new Desire 816 began taking blurred photos, so I decided to take a closer look to the camera and noticed that thing you can see in the attachment.
I really don't know what happened there, but they do not seem like ordinary scratches. I really don't know how to fix them, and I really don't think this is covered by the HTC warranty.
What should I do know?

i was having same issue few days ago i tried cleaning my lens but it didn't help so the only solution is to buff your camera.. as the body is made up of plastic some amount of carbon comes after a while so all u need is to make it buffed. i don't know from where you get this service in your country. Here in my country there are many shops who use certain compounds or chemicals to buff plastic and make it look like newer , cleaner and scratch free... it does not harm your phone ok search google about buff..... best of luck

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I've had camera phones since 2004 and I've never had such an issue with none of them.
Actually, here in Italy, I really don't now if I can find this kind of shop, but maybe I can do some "do it yourself".
Hi, i bought my m9 used a few months ago, in mint condition so to say, now i saw today that it has cracks in the frame on the front in all 4 corners. Pictures in the link http://imgur.com/a/z4WCf as i wasnt able to upload to xda for some reason.
Does anyone else have seen this issue? It bothers me much, because i wanted to bring it in for warranty, cuz the phone was sometimes randomly turning off and the notification LED is basically non working (i think thats a known issue, cuz the LED is so weak, that its barely seeable in absolute darkness)...

I've got the exact same issue but on 3 corners and one in the side above the volume rocker in terms of quality this device is the worst I've owned been in a case since release date, tempered glass screen protector etc.. And this happens, If I was you would call HTC try and get a fix or new device and sell it..
