These zips may replace files in modded roms causing breaks in themes, mods, ect
Use at your own risk and make a backup prior to flashing
Suggested that you flash the zips, wipe cache and dalvik and reboot and let the system re-optomize
All mods will be compatible with my debloated odexed/deodex roms that will be posted shortly.

Yes. This was editing the database files uaing a sq editor.
You are flashing a entire modded .db file.
Open the zip and look at the directory
Data/data/com.android.providers.settings/
And the install script is the other location in zip. It is just replacing the 1 file it wont clear your cache / dalvik so you need to do that after install so it re runs the db file
It also can be changed in the xml file but it will only work with a full rom install since the xml files only get called at first install

Hey, is there a repository or anything for .zips for me to add on to CM7? Such as; i downloaded an LG widgets .zip to flash (didn't work by the way) with clockwork, but i mean that kind of thing. Even if there isn't a repository is there any you'd recommend me add on?
Thanks!
Damn...zips or apks? Someone mentioned how to add apps to the rom zip so they would be system apps or part of the rom. I remember it being easy sounding but forgot. Glad you asked before I did.

zips, you install them using recovery like any other rom, and it becomes part of the rom, like when you install CM7 it asks if you want an add on with all the google apps in it with your rom, (talk, youtube etc..)
That's not what I'm talking about as that is pretty obvious. Say you had 30 apks you wanted as part of the roms build. There is a place in the rom zip they can go before you flash the rom. That way don't have to make a ton of zips or build 1 large flashable.zip unless you just enjoy doing everything the hard way

If you open the zip file, and go to System > App, you can copy the apk's in there and they will install when you flash the rom.
You may need to re-sign the zip though, or toggle signature verification in clockwork mod.

Based on the mod for the Xoom tablet and the Lenovo Thinkpad tablet, here is the MyScript Notes Mobile app for the Note 2.
This mod is based on the port for the Xoom, but the script is redone to account for the different file system in the Note 2. Enjoy.
Feedback is appreciated while this is being worked on. This currently only works on Touchwiz ROMs. You must be rooted with a custom recovery.
Version 1 is for AOSP ROMs.
Version 2 is for TouchWiz ROMs.
Installation:
1. Read the FAQ in the next post.
2. Download the zip and transfer it to your phone's microSD card, if necessary.
3. Boot into recovery.
4. Flash the zip.
5. Wipe cache and dalvick cache.
6. Reboot and enjoy.
FAQ
1. Why doesn't the wheel appear when I write a note freehand and then try to convert it afterward?
Currently, the only solution to this is to factory reset (wipe /data) to clear the lib data and allow this to function properly. Use the updated V2 where this is fixed.
2. Why do the first few pen strokes look bolded, then change to thin strokes?
This seems to be an issue in the apk itself. I'm not entirely sure what's causing it, but there is no current fix for it. It doesn't harm anything, it just look weird at first.
3. How do I install this?
See the first post.
looks like a cool app
the video reminds me of someone writing in a diary or journal...i suppose that would be a cool way to use it..an electronic diary
the zip is flashable? you cant install the app with an apk?
This is cool someone asked about it b4 I got it to install by using root explorer and copying over the .libs. The app works very well at changing your handwriting to "normal" text It would get about 90+% of the words correct. Thanx Cajun

I'm betting that there are some lib files that are fighting, since S Note installs some that are named identically. It might not hurt to revise the file names within the libs, but fixing the references after that could be a pain.
The app is darn good, but not perfect. It inserts full carriage returns at the end of each line instead of just wrapping a single line.
It is my go-to S Pen app, since the HWR in S Note is so kludgy.

I see. I'll have a look at that thread and see what can be done.
@Owen
I did figure out what is causing the wheel not to appear. The MyScript libs are already built into the Note2 TW ROMs for the S Note app. When my zip is flashed, it overwrites the existing libs, but leaves behind the data file for them, causing some minor glitches. I don't see any way to fix the bolded lines at the beginning of the notes, though. I'll see if I can locate the data files and have the zip clear them. The existing libs are newer than the zip.
The problem is because other devices did not rely on the MyScript engine for transcribing text like the Note 2 does. S Note is built on top of this functionality.
Looks good, keep up the good work. Will give this a through testing when I'm home from work.

I was worried that the MyScript app was overwriting the libs. We need to update the MyScript zip to change the names of those libs, and fix all the internal references. If we overwrite lib files that S Note uses, we might get unexpected results.

Actually, it should work fine without the Myscript libs. The ones already installed should be fine. Try this zip and see if it works. This zip does not have duplicate libs or overwrite anything.
To test this one, please make a backup of your ROM, then fully wipe everything including /system. Reflash your ROM, then reboot. Open S Notes and save a couple of notes. Doesn't matter what you type. Next, reboot into recovery and flash this zip. Reboot and see if the wheel works and if there are any other hiccups.

So far, so good. I followed your directions exactly, full wipe and reflash. Created a few notes to make sure S Note was fully initialized, then flashed the v2 zip from recovery. First few strokes are still fat, but the wheel shows up fine...for now. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Keep up the good work!
I just have to say, I LOVE this phone. It has never been so fast and easy to completely wipe and restore a device. I can have the whole operation done in just under ten minutes, with all my apps fully restored. Phenomenal.

Is there any way to unflash zip files? I flashed some mods for my toggle bar, and I think its killing my battery. I was just wondering if there was any way to get rid of them? Thanks
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
The best way I know of to "unflash" a package is to:
1. Find the files that were flashed with the zip.
2. Extract those stock files from your ROM.zip.
3. Push them over and set permissions with a root explorer. (I.e. ROM Toolbox)
Reflash your rom only wiping cache and dalvik this will restore rom and leave your user data and apps intact

The best way for me is to just keep regular backups of your working setup that you can restore back to.

Im not sure but I think to get the aosp lockscreen you just have to delete the lg lockscreen. I don't think our lockscreen is that bad I just don't like the shortcuts.

Yeah, if you go in system/app and delete lgelockscreen.apk, you'll have the built-in AOSP lockscreen. It has this annoying ass grey bar at the bottom though that you can't get rid of. Also, you can download Mobint's holo lock screen from the market and paste that into system/app

I had removed the grey bar and tweaked some variables back in December. It works on deodexed or odexed ROMS doesn't matter. It's made for unmodified stock ROMS (I was using with exposed mods ok). Just push the file below (framework-res.apk) to the system/framework directory, set permission, wipe dalvik & cache then reboot. You might want to rename your old one first just in case you have a problem or want to go back.
