Im not sure but I think to get the aosp lockscreen you just have to delete the lg lockscreen. I don't think our lockscreen is that bad I just don't like the shortcuts.

Yeah, if you go in system/app and delete lgelockscreen.apk, you'll have the built-in AOSP lockscreen. It has this annoying ass grey bar at the bottom though that you can't get rid of. Also, you can download Mobint's holo lock screen from the market and paste that into system/app

I had removed the grey bar and tweaked some variables back in December. It works on deodexed or odexed ROMS doesn't matter. It's made for unmodified stock ROMS (I was using with exposed mods ok). Just push the file below (framework-res.apk) to the system/framework directory, set permission, wipe dalvik & cache then reboot. You might want to rename your old one first just in case you have a problem or want to go back.

Is there a way to get the stock Jellybean launcher on Codenameandroid ROM. I find the stock launcher to still be the smoothest, and i dont really feel like i need any additional Launcher features.

there's no need to install it. that's what you've done when you pushed the file over to /system/app.
No USER friendly! Sorry I can't create update.zip
Need Safestrap for BackUP and change permissions (chmod -R 755 /system/framework/framework-res.apk).
This mod can open for you full screen display in Razr M without loose toggle bar, just copy framework with style what you want to /system/framework dir, and change permission to file.

Developer only?
Does this work for the developer and regular versions? Anyone tried this with the official JB OTA from Verizon?
I used Root Explorer, not a terminal. Running on stock Verizon Jelly Bean, retail version.

It Works!
Yeah, FINALLY! Get rid of that craptastic waste-of-space navbar.
If anybody want to know, here's how I did it:
Note: I used root explorer
1. I used my windows 7 machine to extract the version of framework-res I wanted.
In my case, i'm on the 4.1.1 JB Verizon OTA, so I chose the 4.1.1 noV-Hbutton.
2.Copy the framework-res of your choice to the root of your internal storage card.
3. Using your file manager (Root explorer in my case) copy the framework file from your internal storage to "\system\" NOT "\system\framework\". Note, if you do this step and it asks you if you want to overwrite "framework-res.apk" STOP!
4. Using your file manager, write down the permissions for your existing "\system\framework\framework-res.apk".
5.Go to the framework-res.apk you just copied "\system\framework-res.apk" and change permissions to match those of your existing framework-res file.
6. AFTER the permissions have been changed and verified (I exited completely out of root explorer, then re-opened it and double checked that the permissions where the same) you can safely move and over-write the file in "\system\framework\".
7. Here's the reason. If you just copy the modified framework file straight from your internal memory to its home in "\system\framework\" the permissions won't be right, and there is a VERY good chance you will end up in an endless bootloop. Copying the file to "\system" first gives you the opportunity to modify its permissions BEFORE overwriting the existing framework file.
Good luck!
Update: Not sure why, and it isn't causing any problems, but every time I reboot the phone, it goes through the "android is upgrading your apps" dialogue".
Guess I got lucky avoiding a bootloop. I just copied the new file, went to /system/framework, renamed the current file, and pasted in the new one. Then all the applications crashed, I rebooted, and changed the permissions. I did have to sign back into all my accounts (Google, Facebook, etc), but zero issues since then.
I'm still loving it! The nav buttons took up so much space. The new version of LMT that you can trigger from the bottom makes it perfect.

Yea just decompile the framework from the rom you want and edit the lines in the op to all zeros. It's located in the "values/dims.xml" (I think). Recompile apk then drop in the meta folder from the original framework inside the new framework (I used 7zip). Just copy to phone, set permissions, and reboot.

Your phone has to be rooted and you need to have any root explorer installed.
1. I'd suggest to back up SystemUI.apk and SystemUI.odex from the folder /system/app and to think about a recovery plan if something goes wrong.
2. Copy my SystemUI.apk into the folder /system and change its permissions to rw-r--r-- (644).
3. Delete SystemUI.odex from /system/app and move SystemUI.apk file from the folder /system to the folder /system/app with a replacement of the existing file.
4. After a successful replacement you will probably get some errors, all you need is to restart the device.
PS if you don't know or understand anything from the above firstly read about it then act or otherwise you can damage your smartphone.
I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong.
That all makes sense, only thing I don't know how to do is change permissions for the apk. How do I do that?
EDIT: using both es explorer or androzip i'm unable to move the file to the system folder. I have no idea how to get it there. Should I try a different file explorer?

To change the permissions you need to go to the file properties. After that just cut-paste it into the app folder. Es file explorer always works for me . However it had a strange behaviour when I tried to use 'copy to' or 'move to', so just cut-paste.
Finally got this going thanks to your patience! I had to leave the permissions to rwe and only copy/paste would work for some reason. Had to reset my wallpaper and turn data back on after reboot.
Otherwise all good, thanks!

The AOSP lockscreen is already built in. The HTC lockscreen just automatically overrides it. If you freeze the HTCLockscreen.apk or use a file explorer to rename it to HTCLockscreen.apk.bak then the AOSP one will work on its own. The only downside to this is that you have to unlock your phone to be able to answer a call.

Ahh OK.
If it returns, then you're likely on a stock ROM.
Sense Roms are now system write protected.
Meaning you can't modify the stock system files while booted to the OS.
You can flash a script in recovery that can delete them however.
Most custom Roms have the system write protection removed.
You can also use adb while in recovery to delete files.

I like Samsung Email app but I hate the all whites in it so I managed to track them down almost 100% for the screens I could access.
As you may know app already has built-in black theme that is suppose to activate by simple change in csc features.xml but it is disabled by Samsung. There is a hard coded boolean "IsBlackTheme=false" in smali so I changed it to "true" and activated the black theme... But no wonder why they left it "false" - the theme was I say 50/50 complete and the composer didn't work at all so app was useless. Few days code reading and figured it out... the spen layout was crashing the composer. Fixed it, completed the rest of the theme and here it is.
It 's a vrtheme (thanks goes to those guys), flash it in recovery. Make sure no other themes alters SecEmail.apk after that... or simply reflash it.
And some screenshots... Enjoy...
EDIT: OK... sorry guys, it's back...
I was trying to avoid wiping the entire dalvik, but the patching happens so fast that there was no time to delete the dex. So now it just wipes dalvik completely and it works.
That's what you get when rushing things... Please, redownload...

Now your app is themed, push it back to /system/app and change permissions to 644. Done.
That's what flashing do exactly, same thing and you have your original email app backed up on sdcard.

Im on stock rooted 442, and when explore the zip, I see the apk is not a apk but a dir and files.... Is there a away to combine them back into a apk again? I know I should know what it is called but. I'm having a noob moment.

Glad you asked... don't do it... theme is for 4.3 ROM, it most likely wont work with your 4.4.2 email app and you will have to redo all settings/accounts.
But if you wanna try it anyway make backup of your original email app and do what I said in my previews response to you. Drag and drop everything in that directory to your apk with 7zip and all modded files will be replaced and you will have your apk themed. Then push it back and delete /data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@[email protected], restart phone. If done in recovery you might get away with loosing settings/accounts etc.

Just FYI did not work for me. I drag dropped molded and rebooted cleared cache and all that and all it did was make app unavailable.

Man when I saw this thread and the screenshots I got all kinds of excited!!! I've been looking for this everywhere. Not sure why the stock email app is probably the least inverted app on the phone but the one I use the most. I as well though am on sprint and now NC5 firmware so not counting on this working but what a work of art! Would love to have this option on the sprint note 3. Very nice work though!!!
