Is there a way to get the stock Jellybean launcher on Codenameandroid ROM. I find the stock launcher to still be the smoothest, and i dont really feel like i need any additional Launcher features.
grab Launcher2.apk from /system/app from a stock rom. push it to your device. mount /system readwrite, copy Launcher2.apk to /system/app. reboot, done.

You have to make sure to change it back to rw and they should be no need to install anything clear defaults on apex or whatever you using mind just asked me what I wanted to use as soon a I rebooted

there's no need to install it. that's what you've done when you pushed the file over to /system/app.

I'm on Juggs 5.0 and I tried pushing a themed version of the Samsung keyboard app (AxT9IME.apk) into my phone but it would not install. I tried pushing the stock one back but it would not install either. The apk file is present in my system/app folder but it just doesn't run or shows up on application settings or TB. I had a backup on TB but when I tried to restore the app TB just freezes as is restoring the app. WTF! I've tried using a apk manager to install it and nothing. I've tried wiping cache, dalvik, and fixing permissions then rebooting and nothing.Running out of ideas on what to do. Help please cuz that's hands down the best keyboard IMHO. Thx ahead.

Change the current keyboard to something like keyboard.apko
Then push the new one using rootexp change the permission to rw-r-r then reboot. It should install automatically if not press install then reboot the phone.

Yeah I tried that also, including deleting completely both of my other keyboards apk files and just leaving the Samsung one but still when you select input method the Samsung keyboard shows missing even thought the apk file in in the system/app folder....but thx anyways homie.

Wow...Am I the only one who had this problem?
**** it! I give up. Ain't gonna reflash...I found a good alternative... Thumb Keyboard...its very customizable to your needs so Im gonna roll with it. Thx for everyones help

well make sure you're not grabbing an odex file of it. Because its misleading if you're just pushing apk without knowing its a deodex one. If anyone get that?

The apks I used to try to reinstall the Samsung keyboard were from the Juggs Rom itself and from two other themes made for Juggs 5.0 (Kobalt and Bad Blue) so yeah they should of worked but all three fail to install. Its something from my phone. I think I'm missing a app that the keyboard depends on but I'm not sure. Thx anyways homie

K...Im not sure what you mean...when you view the Samsung keyboard app via a app manager lets say thru Titanium Backup it is labeled Samsung Keypad 2.3.5 but the actual apk file is labeled AxT9IME.apk just like the Android keyboard app's apk file is labeled latinIME.apk...There is no Samsungkeypad.apk.
The apk file IS present in my System/App folder but its not installed nor it installs when I try to do it. I know I done did something cuz I had it working and then one day when I wanted to type something I noticed the Android keyboard was showing and when I try to edit the input method the Samsung keypad was missing. I don't know WTF I did.
I am posting here because I wan't able to post on the ROM page. I am a long time reader but have, for the first time, found a question I need answered that I haven't been able to find by simply reading. I am running a JB Rom (4.1) and this particular rom came with Google Chrome as the default browser. I want to keep the Rom but install the default Android browser. I have downloaded the apk and moved it into my system apps but I can figure out how to get it to install. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks.
You need to make sure the permissions are the same as the other system apps and then reboot.

How do I do that ? I have tried fixing permissions in Recovery, but other than that I'm not sure how to do it.

Root explorer or es file manager find the /system/app should be browser.apk then hold on it and select properties and change the permissions. Should be the first row completely checked then the next row should only have the first two checked.

Nevermind, I figured out how to fix the permissions. Thanks for your help.
after i installed the latest version of my rom (infamous 2.8.5) i noticed it didnt have touchwiz launcher so i installed it from an apk i found here.
the only problem im having with it is there are certain widgets that i cant add to the homescreen.
every time i try it tells me 'not installed with permission to add binding widgets' (not verbatim)
i tried to install widgets from the play store they dont work either..i mostly tried clock widgets
any suggestions?
thanks.

Have you tried pushing into system? If you want a simple way of convert an apk into a system file, long press it in titanium, choose "convert into system file ". Older versions of apex use to have this problem. Pushing it into system solves it.

You can copy paste into system/apps and fix permissions then reboot. Just change them to the same as all the other apk's in the folder. But if it says donation version needed, I don't think I'll work

What are the permissions to be set at? I pushed this and the stock file manager to system apps, fixed permissions via recovery, but neither work. When I use Root Explorer to check the apks they show different permissions from all the other system apps. MusicPlayer and SecNoteMyFiles show rwxrwxr-x while the other apks show rw-r-r-- I guess I need to manually change them?
EDIT - Actually what happens is they don't show in the app drawer, so I tried to install them from the system app folder, but I keep getting an error "Application not installed".

No go for me. They just don't want to work. I don't know why. I was on the stock ROM via ODIN. Everything worked. I pulled five apks from the system app folder. Three of them work, but the MusicPlayer and FileManager don't. I tried them both ways. I left the permissions as is, rebooted, and nothing. I did what you said, and still nothing. Got me. I'm running Jedi Mind Trick JB 3.

First I want to thank you, and say sorry for making you help me so much, as I'm now realizing it would have worked if I just used your version from the beginning. I've been trying to get the one I pulled from my stock ROM when I was running it. It seems my APK is not the right one. Yours worked the very first time. It's also bigger than mine by about a MB. Where did you pull it from? I pulled mine directly from the system/app folder.
Also since mine didn't work for this, or my File Manager APK, would it be possible for you to share that too? Or tell me where to get it? Thanks again.

Install stock launcher apk, then uninstall nova either thru titanium backup or delete thru system/app using a file explorer
Edit: and don't forget to reboot after removing nova

Download any deodexed stock rom and open up the zip and get \system\app\Launcher2.apk. It's as easy as that . If you want to remove a launcher, open up the .zip and just delete it before even flashing the rom (though make sure you replace it with another). You can usually add/remove apk's from the rom .zips before you flash all you want as long as you do not force md5 checks when flashing (well, as long as you don't remove any essential apks).
MD5 check before changing apks
Do check for MD5 before changing apks, so that you know nothing else is different except the changes you made.
Simple way

You don't have to use other aps to get ride of it. Just delete some chache and data of Nova, reset nova setting, then you can uninstall it, forever from your smartphone. As simple as simple it self
