hello guyz i am new to thing rooting and flashing..can any1 tell me how can i upgrade my redmi 1s to lollipop step by step... i am now in jelly bean by default and i want to install lollipop any version plz help me...step by step hanks a lot
First of all you are not suppose to post questions here in general section, there is q&a section for that
Anyways coming to the question
1)First you need a custom recovery, here is link for that:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2907658
Read the first post carefully all instructions are there for flashing TWRP
2) There are many roms based on lollipop for Redmi 1s, you can search and install any of them,
Here's the link for CM 12.1:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3075376
Again read the first post for download links and installation instructions
3) For the ROOT :-
After flashing ROM head on to settings then about device there you will have to tap 7 times on build number to enable developers option, then go back to settings, select developers option and slide down to see root access, then tap on it and select apps only,
You're done
This takes time as a newbeee but keep patience
BANG that THANKS button

Hello guys.
I am a brand new Android user and a total noob when it comes to the whole terminology here (ROMs,Kernel, flash etc). I've been reading a lot and i got better i must say,but i still need to ask some questions and get some instructions.
I have a Samsung Galaxy ACE II - GTI 8160
The phone is rooted,i have SuperSU and this is the info bout the phone.
Firmware : I8180XXMF1
Kernel : 3.0.31D-K_v1.RC15
Android Version : 4.1.2. (official)
I'd like to flash a new ROM,and more specifically the 10.1 CM.
My questions are. Does the current firmware and Kernel version that my phone has, meet the requirements to flash the new ROM right away?
Even if they do,shall i "upgrade" Kernel to something better to increase performance (since i dont think i can upgrade firmware, couldnt find a newer Greek version).
New ROM will support Greek language normally?
Is there anything else i should notice before starting the procedure?
I'd appreciate some specific step to step instuctions of what should i do before flashing,if ofcourse there is something i should do.
Thank u in advance and sorry if there is a similar topic and i missed it

You're not the only one
Don't have any fear about putting on a custom ROM, just follow the instructions carefully and double check you've downloaded the right gapps file. I've done it a fair few times now, and any problems I've had have been sorted by reading this forum.
Thanx a lot for ur responses guys. I'll try to read more before i do it,just to be absolutely sure about my moves.

Well to do it, it's very simple, if you're on Windows just follow up this link:
If you are running Ubuntu or an Ubuntu based distro on your machine the process is different, and it's more complicated for a new comer.
So in order to make it simply for the user i released this zip containing an automate script so just run Zenfone2Root.sh into a terminal window and leave it work.

**Warning** From the latest update(The one from 04 November) Xposed Framework is not working anymore, by installing it you will result into a bootloop

Q8: I heard there is a WhatsApp group and a Telegram one, which one is the best? There isn't a best one here, but a more secure one yes there is one, and that one is Telegram of course. Me and some developers are on the Telegram group. We don't use Whatsapp because our numbers would be exposed to all the users and sincerely i and the others don't want that.
Here is the thread for the Telegram Group.
In case you still want to join the WhatsApp group here is the thread
Q9: I rooted my Zenfone, i'm on stock and i want to update it. What to do?Don't worry your answer is covered entirely here
Q10: I have unlocked bootloader and i want to upgrade my stock ROMIf you are on stock ROM and you got unlocked bootloader you are able to update your phone only and only if you didn't touched any system files, like xposed, root etc.. In that case yeah you will end into a bootloop or the installation will even fails.
Q11: We will have Android M?Ok so, this was and it's still talked very much by the whole community... Nothing is confirmed for sure,we're hearing some news about the fact that Asus is actually working on it,but officially nothing was announced yet. But don't drop your hopes guys cause Zenfone 2 got released this year so normally the Android M upgrade will be for sure confirmed, but we don't just know when. A talk thread about this can be found here
Q12: What's the difference between dirty and clean flash?Maybe you will be heard this many times on the forum,or if you didn't heard well i will tell you what's this all about:
Basically dirty flash is when you flash a ROM by cleaning only cache and dalvik and by complete flash we're intending to have besides the wipe cache and dalvik also the wipe data. .
Q13: I saw Asus also released a tool to unlock the bootloader what to do?Yeah, this thing was also discussed by some users. Well if you're unlocking your bootloader by the "Unofficial method" made by us on XDA Asus will not have the possibility to track your phone (Warranty things), so if you're unlocking the bootloader with the Unofficial method Asus will not directly know that your warranty is lost but if you're doing it with the official method then yes.
Q14: I'm on CyanogenMod but i want to go back on stockNo problem if you want to go back on stock, just pick up the latest stock factory ROM from here: but for the fact that you're using the TWRP you will also need to modify the updater-script of your zip in order to fit and make you flash correctly the stock ROM so for that just head over here
Q15: The stock ROM is full of apps that i don't use, how to get rid of some of them?Try looking here:

This is an informative thread in order to don't make threads for already answered questions, and to maintain a bit the order around.
I will continue to update this thread as much as i can for all the users.
Hope that's help a bit the new comers with this device

Stock android on ZF2
Hi.
Thank you very much for the super informative post. I am going to buy a ZF2 and I want to check if it is possible to run stock Android in this device. This is more an option for me and not a necessity. I just do not like customizations such as ZenUI, HTC Sense, TouchWiz and so. I have chosen this model for the price vs functionality otherwise I know that I could go for a Nexus model or a Motorola device that run on near stock android.
Thank you again.
P. S. I have never rooted any of my android devices so far. I am not familiar with the process and I always have the fear that I may brick my device.

Oh, and sorry, missed out on how to root and install:
For rooting just go step by step on this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294734
In case you face trouble with: Make sure only 'Auto reboot' and 'F.Reset Time' is checked, then please uncheck the 'Auto-Reboot', and try. It will work. I would suggest not to reboot, and install SuperSu [The latest SuperSu can be found here: http://d-h.st/IFy7 [APK File for people wanting APK post rooting and flashing]; http://d-h.st/LYsj [RAR file for Flashing for the first time in Recovery mode].
Triangle Away latest: http://d-h.st/8anG
Post the Rooting, please install the ZIP file of ROM and the GApps via Flash. Also, ensure that you install both the ROM & GApps without rebooting. Via Flash means copy to external SD card and then from Recovery mode install zip from sd card.
Hope this helps
CWM Recovery - http://d-h.st/MlVf [ZIP file]
CWM Recovery - http://d-h.st/31qx [MD5 file]
In case you require it..

steps:
1. Root your Redmi 1s. follow this. it is fine even if u are in MIUI 8 http://en.miui.com/thread-104048-1-1.html
2. Install Twrp. Follow this http://en.miui.com/thread-224337-1-1.html
3. Choose from a wide range of ROMs, here in the ANDROID DEVELOPMENT Section
ill suggest a few the way u wanted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-1-t3075376
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/orig-development/cyanogenmod-13-0-t3265044
http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-1s/development/rom-aicp-12-redmi-1s-armani-t3483484
I suggest u this rom.its official cm14.1 by fefifofum https://download.cyanogenmod.org/get/armani-latest.zip
U must flash gapps from "opengapps " site. Chose arm ,7.1 and then pico gapps. Download them. Then flash rom i.e the first zip i linked then flash gapps after rom. Enjoy. U can watch videoa on using twrp and flashing rom if u r new to this.
Hello everyone,
this is my first post in this forum, so i'm excusing in advance if this is the wrong place for this post.
I have a samsung tab sm-t110 which is very slow on every action. I try to format it, but I see no improvement. I then look around to know a little about root and roms.
I read several thread in this forum and i have some question.
1) I'd like to speed up my tablet and remove unnecessary apps, do I just need to root it? If yes, can you confirm is this thread the one I need to follow carefully?
2) What action do you suggest to do after?
3) If you think it would be better use a rom, which one do you suggest?
Sorry if my questions are silly, I'm new and wish to know better this world before starting manipulating my devices
And thanks to whoever will spent his time answering
As far your device, you should first root it . And thn use 3rd party soft wares to delete the unnecessary apps. This will help a lot and you can also download Lineage for your device .
I root the device successfully
Thanks for the clean and easy-to-follow guide (can't write in the thread, it's closed)
For now I'll try using the rooted device with some app.
Really last question for now, what would be the best ROM? The Lineage OS that seems will be out for the end of July?
Its cynogenmod

What version? I've looked through v12.1 to 14 and neither seems to have the T110 listed as compatible
