So I notcied on the play store that the latest Motorola Camera app appears to have some functionality with our Moto 360 watch. The screen shots show that you can take a picture with the watch (I would presume that this simply tells the phone to take a picture since the watch does not have a built-in camera?).
but I have yet to figure out how to do this.
has anyone been able to, and how so?
thanks!
edit: nevermind, figured it out by unblocking the camera app

Alright, this is my first thread, so bare with me. First off, my kindle fire is rooted, with 8.4.3 firmware. My first issue is my camera. Whenever i go to photos and tap on the camera symbol, it works for a second, and then freezes on whatever the camera was pointed at, without me actually taking a picture. Second issue, snapchat. I know kindle doesn't support it, but here is my thing. I don't have any other device that supports snapchat, and i also rarely use it. But still, time o time i use it, so i kind of need it. When i try taking a picture with it, it stretches my face. When i take the picture, it unstretches, zooms in, and crops my face. How do i fix this issue? I can send example pictures if needed.
Thanks for helping

For me, it takes absolutely forever to focus, and will usually only focus if I move my phone up and down/left and right (basically don't hold it still). As a result, I inevitably get blur.
I've tried using LG's camera app, and it focuses absolutely fine with no issue. Anybody else with the same issue?
Same problem here... I can't figure out how to improve this issue.
No one else is having this problem?

Not seeing this with mine. Seems to focus just fine, nice and snappy. Bell model, unrooted, Dalvik.

I'm on 100% stock Sprint. :/
I have a similar problem with CamScanner which I use to scan receipts....I think it has something to do with the fact the LG G3 has a UHD display and the app doesn't support that resolution yet. I'm on AT&T D850
No problems here. The picture is super-crisp at any distance. Then I press shutter and it takes maybe a second to take photo, then additional time to process/upload.
Google Drive 2.0.222.39
Running the same version here. I've noticed that if I tape the shutter once, a ring appears around the button. If I tap it again, it disappears. Sometimes that second tap takes the picture, but 9 times out of 10, I have to pan the camera around, pull it away or zoom in, and it snaps the shot, most of the time blurry because I'm moving.
Same issue.
Used to have the same issue as well. I just tried it now and Drive crashes after opening the camera to scan.
Google Drive 2.0.222.40, stock V10G-EUR-XX, Dalvik.
Completely unusable now

Dang, I tried refreshing my store and no update.
same problem here !
any solutions ?
You guys have the HDR on ? Tried turning it off ?
I tried disabling the HDR (was set to auto,) in the native camera app. I don't think that influences Google Drive though. Had no effect.
HDR off no effect here either
I just installed the latest Google Drive 2.0.222.51 and application started working. It still takes some time to focus on some shots, but is much better than before.
If you don't want to wait your turn to update Google Drive from the Play store you can grab it from here:

I have the G3 D855 10g version (with Root) and focus takes 1 second so works fine !!

mine is having the same old issue even with the latest drive app
Anyone else noticing that when they take a picture with the chase banking app (my particular one) or perhaps another banks app, that the check is always really grainy even if it looks good before you snap the photo?
This happens to me every single time and 90% of the time the bank wont accept the check.
I also notice the camera does the same thing if i try to take a picture of something off my computer monitor or tv (yes i know this isnt optimal use of the camera but its distinct and even my crappy ipad camera comes out better).
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping you can help me with an issue I've been experiencing since I just got my Moto 360 two days ago that I can't seem to get past. I have a Nexus 5 and it's running Lollipop 5.1.1. My 360 is up to date.
I am trying to use the My Design watch face to allow me to select an image from my gallery or my camera to set as an image for my background. Using Motorola Connect I select My Design, select Customize, then select Pick Image. I then select Gallery. When in Gallery I will select an image. At this point it instantly crashes and I get the error, "Unfortunately, Photos has Stopped." It gives me this same error if I use Photos to select the image or I use another gallery app, such as "Quickpic."
Things I have tried to do to fix this:
- Factory reset watch
- Uninstall and reinstall Android Wear and Motorola Connect
- Uninstall and reinstall all my gallery apps, uninstall all updates to Photos app
- Use different photo gallery apps
- I have paired with another phone and the watch seems to update fine when paired to another non Nexus 5 phone, however when they use the latest version of Photos to update they still tend to have some issues.
One thing to note - when I uninstall all updates to photos (I can't entirely uninstall it) and then attempt to select from the gallery it instantly crashes and says, "Unfortunately, Connect has stopped." At that point it won't even let me view images. So I'm fairly certain it has something to do with Google Photos not being incompatible with the Connect app. Does anyone know of a workaround?
Thank you!
I have the same issue. When I pick an image from Gallery, it says "Cannot load the image!" I have tried resetting the Moto 360 and reinstalling Android Wear with no luck. Pre picked images work, but I cannot load up new images. I can take pictures and use it as the watch face or use the Themed ones, just not from the Gallery.
Having the exact same issue. Uninstalled Wear and Connect, uninstalled updates to Photos, reset watch. Nothing.
Also on Nexus 5 and Moto360.
Same issue here. Can't set custom background on my 360 either running stock/rooted 5.1.1 on my GPS nexus 6. Hopefully a fix is coming because it did work before on stock 5.1. I briefly tried the M preview and hasn't worked since on 5.1(.1) or M.
Same issue here on Cyanogenmod 12.1. Crashes whatever photo selector I use, including the stock gallery. Still no workarounds?
Same here Nexus 6 I had no problems with 5.1 but moving to M then moving back to 5.1.1 its never worked since

Not exactly a workaround, but was messing around with watchmaker premium on Saturday and used that to basically do the same thing as moto Connect's my design face. I actually like that better since I can change the size and position of the clock, date etc. so if you have watchmaker or facer, you maybe could give that a try.
Had the same issue. However, I think that Google Photos was crashing the photo picker because the new Photos probably doesn't have a cropper tool. I cleared the defaults on Photos and then using QuickPic from Connect works to select the image from gallery, crop, and save the watch face.
However, the custom design watch face doesn't appear as selectable on the watch itself. How to get that one to appear?
[Edit] The problem was fixed after installing a system update.

You're spot on - thank you so much for the help. :good:
i am still having issues with this. I used Quickpic to select the picture, but when the process goes back to Connect it still gives me the "unfortunately Photos has stopped"
Still having issues, even with QuickPic... !
On Nexus 6 5.1.1
ok so now since my Photos app was updated it seems like it is working except for the fact that when I save the image i does not show up on the moto connect app where the custom backgrounds are supposed to be. Ahy help would be appreciated.
Same here with my Nexus 5 and moto 360!!!
Switched to a OPO, now images "download" but don't show up in watch face library. Sigh...
In my case It shows "saved" after I select the picture but it doesn't show on recents or as an option for me to select it
I gave up and downloaded the WatchMaker app. Works perfectly.
Same problem with Moto G and Moto 360. I can select only the old images that i have in the Connect.
Having seen the new advert for Nokia and their front and back cam simultaneous broadcasting. I've looked into this and it seems to be a hardware limitation on 3rd party apps being able to use both cameras at the same time.
Can pixel manage this?
has anyone else looked into it at all?
has anyone found any apps yet?
i've downloaded "Bothie" and "Frontback" - this gives a normal photo then it switching to selfie cam to take a shot then they both have half the screen.... close but not quite what would be asked for
