Can the pixel handle front and back cam at same time? - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

Having seen the new advert for Nokia and their front and back cam simultaneous broadcasting. I've looked into this and it seems to be a hardware limitation on 3rd party apps being able to use both cameras at the same time.
Can pixel manage this?
has anyone else looked into it at all?
has anyone found any apps yet?
i've downloaded "Bothie" and "Frontback" - this gives a normal photo then it switching to selfie cam to take a shot then they both have half the screen.... close but not quite what would be asked for

Problem in video call

Hi all, appreciate if anyone could help me on my issue. When I make video call to my friend, I can see his cam but he can't see mine. It seems like the front cam is not turned on as I myself also can't see my cam displayed on screen. I am not sure this is the hardware (front cam) issue or firmware. I am using HTC Hermes WM6.
Or is there any way for me to check the functionallity of the cam?
hello i have tha same problen since last days
so u mean previously ur cam is functioning? Any idea what is happening? Any expert or user who faces this before and know how to fix? Or at least anyone know how to test the functionality of the video cam (hardware).
your solution is:
the FLEX cable on the front cam is disconected, call a local lab or do it yourself.
I have uploaded a solution to the main hermes forum in the past 4 months.
i had this problem before. it's one of the buttons on the screen during a video call which you need to enable your own camera for the video call.
The connection of the camera to the main board is known to come loose from dropping the phone, etc. If your phone has taken a few tumbles it's highly likely this could be the case, if you've tried everything software side and you feel skilled enough, open it up (void your warranty) and plug it back in (it's quite straight forward, you just need to be very attentive and careful). Otherwise, send it some where to get fixed.

Camera cannot focus at distance

I got a warranty replacement and I'm finding the camera cannot focus at distance. Up to 1 foot it focuses great, but anything farther is a mess. Even with manual focus at infinity it doesn't work.
Sad quality control?
What about with video ?
Give the lens a clean. Take a good look at it and see whether some dust got trapped on the inside. Give it a tap and see if it moves.
With the camera app closed and not in memory try clearing the camera app cache and restarting. If that does nothing try clearing the camera data too.

Same thing with video. I had read about clearing cache/data, so I tried that as well. Even tried factory reset. It seems this camera just cannot set focus at infinity. Used several other camera apps with the same result.
Same here .. Got a warranty replacement for my bricked G4 (boot loop failure) and the new phone has serious camera focus issues. Will not focus on infinity and even at short distances has grainy unfocused pics intermittently. My old G4 camera was amazing even at infinity on max 4.0 zoom super clear pics. This one not even close. Video is the same. Very disappointed. Maybe I need a new Camera module? Any advice would be helpful.
I feel like I need to see what sprint ir LG can find out but sure they will say it works fine but I know better. Arrg!
Hi there,
Did you get a solution for this problem? I have noticed the same situation, focus for close objects, macro, works amazing, but for far objects it's out of focus, I notices for stock and 3rd party apps. I've tried Google camera, Stock camera, LG G5 camera, LG V10 camera, Pro Shot, Camera FV-5, Open camera, this issue also happens for video. I start to suspect that issue it's hardware.
Any suggestions?

Camera mode issues (numbers)

Recently, when I turn on the camera there are numbers on the upper right corner of the screen such as 31503, in front facing mode and 7104 in rear mode. The camera has never had this problem and the pictures still turn out perfectly fine. I just don't know the numbers are there and I want to get rid of them. I'm also wondering if I wanted to reset the phone's camera would that delete my pictures? Any suggestions would appreciated!
No it wouldn't delete.

the numbers are still there...but reset didn't affect my pictures either
Use Motorola camera port. Maybe it would help. And disable geo tagging.
form your explanation i think that you are talking about the number of photos that the memory can store, so for the front camera it will store more than the back camera as it has less mega pixel and less resolution

Camera issues

My camera takes a single shot and then freezes. The single shot doesn't get saved either. Doesn't seem to care if its front or rear camera. 3rd party apps don't work, they show a black screen, but act like they are taking pics, there is just nothing there.
I am rootedand / unlocked on the stock ROM

Front and Wide Angle Cams Don't Work

I once made a mistake and deleted the whole internal storage (not photos and such but everything). Ever since, neither front cam nor wide angle cam works. Macro does, but these two, which are "vital", don't.
I reverted to stock ROM now, but still even with original ROM neither of the two work. It shows 0.6x, but when I try to switch, it just doesn't do anything. The camera doesn't force close, it just doesn't do anything. I'll go back to custom ROM now again, but want to be able to use these two cams. I cannot talk to my family over any app, something is badly broken and reverting didn't solve the issue.
Anyone knows how I can fix it?
Thanks in advance for replies - if there'll be any.
