[Q] Uncontrollable behavior on Galaxy note 2 sgh-t889 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello to all!
I have Galaxy note 2 SGH-T889 with ROM Slim-4.4.4.build.9.0-OFFICIAL-8278
Kernel: [email protected] #6 3.0.101-India-v4.3.8-OC-LTE-AOSP_Hybrid-lollypop
Sometimes, mostly after finishing call, it happens that it begins in totally chaotic manner launch apps, make calls, go into settings menu and etc. Only reboot helps which is quite difficult to initiate in this case.
Can somebody suggest something?

It looks like your phone is possessed....try an exorcism....lol...
No, but did you try the old factory reset?

Did you change anything in the Development Options like the back ground process?

//No, but did you try the old factory reset?
Yes, it was done just before reflashing.
//Did you change anything in the Development Options like the back ground process?
No.
Now i think can it be Xposed framework? I didn't install much modules. Just couple. For network and something else. Now it is uninstalled already.

Hello!
Can anybody, please, give me more answers? I don't know what to do...
I made all wipes and factory reset and reinstalled pure Slimkat 4.4.4
Still problem continues...

If you got oil or grease anywhere on your phone it can mess it up like that. Take it out of its case if you have one and clean it with a cloth dampened with peroxide. Clean front and back and the inside and outside of the case too. Hope that helps.

[Q] Disable the camera, through firmware disable

hey does anyone know a way i can disable the camera on my evo. My work does not allow us to have cameras on our phones. I thought instead of putting epoxy or something over it i could just delete the firmware any ideas?
-chris
Question, are you rooted?
Use a rom where the camera dosent work anyway

I sorry guys I'm a bit of a noob.... when t comes to this type of programing/developing... were can I get a rom to do this... or do i have to develop my own ?
rooted meaning it is not unlocked?
-Chris
Why not just get a silicone case for your phone and sandwich a piece of black plastic (cut from a trash bag) between the case and the phone so that it covers the lens? That will render the camera inoperable but is easy enough to undo if you want to use it when you're not at work.
Front camera also for the loss. I'd go to whoever your camera nazi person is and discuss your options before potentially messing up your phone for nothing.
yeah i spoke to the camera nazi lol and he told me i need to disable it so that i am unable to reverse it.... So i know people have got away with deleting the firmware. I would rather do it this way so that if i wanted i could hard restart it and get everything back. The other option is putting epoxy over both cameras... i was hopping it didn't get to that... any ideas?
Thanks,
Chris
Well the easiest, albeit time consuming would be to root and nandroidyour current firmware, and load up a second Rom, Luke the desire hd Rom and back that one up two and just switch between the two accordingly through nand restore

Screen inaccessible once engaged in call. WTF?

Usually I can hit the power button to bring the screen back but sometimes it won't happen, like just now I hit the call button then realized I didn't want to talk, so I hit the power button and nothing happens and I can hear the phone ringing and i'm left I
With the only option to huff the phone at the wall in frustration(come on, you know a cell phone has given you that impulse before) and then the person answers and I gotta tell them in my rage, "look I really didn't want to talk to you but my phone decided otherwise, so sorry bye". Someone please help before I destroy my phone then bomb T-Mobile HQ or Samsung, whoever is responsible. Thanks in advance

are you rooted are you using a costume rom? you need to give a bit more info here, if you want help. Next post try saying Im rooted using XXX rom, have flashed before and all was well and have cmw installed or any variation above that might apply, at this point I think you are stock which I would seek warrenty.
Oh sorry, maybe I should put that info in my sig or something. I've got bombardier, not sure which version but it's old since I never kept up on updates. So maybe I should be posting this in that sub forum? I wasn't sure if it was a ROM issue. Mind you this issue isn't consistent, and sometimes it seems to just take too long, like this case after the person picked up the phone, before bring the screen back, and that the system is lagging maybe(?). I don't know but it happens enough.

That rom isn't being developed anymore, it's been long forgotten and the dev got a new device. Have you ever wiped cache/dalvik cache? fix permissions?
Not regularly. Perhaps I'll give that a shot and if no luck maybe it's time to find a new ROM. Thanks

Try megamix?
If you are looking for a new rom, I would recommend you looking a megamix, it's has the ICS port too.
Oh cool, thanks. Didn't know ICS was ported already

[Q] Phone randomly began to Reboot

Recently had a Galaxy S2 do something strange and I wanted to see if you guys can decipher what really happened because I have no idea what caused this to happen.
Let's start off with some other info....I was running:
CWM Touch Recovery 6.0.1.8
Cyanogenmod10 Nightly 111212
I simply turned it off once the battery was getting low and charged it, once it was done I turned it on and it made it to the lock screen and then restarted. It would continue do that indefinitely until I removed the battery. So I thought maybe something went wacky and got corrupted so I went back to stock....When Odin restarted it I made it to the Android Welcome screen and it restarted again just like before. So then I got really desperate and did a factory reset and erased all my personal data along with a different stock rom...ICS stock. Nope, it STILL restarts.
Additionally, T-Mobile is replacing said device for a new SGS2, but now I'm afraid to root it. Which is why I want to figure out what happened to it. I'm starting to have suspicions about my extended battery I bought because when this restarting issue began, I've been using them for a little over a week and I haven't done any cyanogenmod updates or flashes recently.
on another note, if I do decide to root again, which Recovery should I use? Preferably one that doesn't require me to use Darkside Superwipe or cache scripts. I'd prefer a Recovery that can do it without scripts. And if you could provide the link, that would be great. I don't care if it's touch or not.
I have been using TWRP for awhile now. Supposedly the built in Wipes are very effective. I like the look and aesthetics of it. I don't think the issue you experienced had anything to do with rooting and romming. I think you may have had a legitimate phone issue. Don't be afraid, just be prepared with backups and knowledge and such.

Thanks for your input, As a precaution, do you think I should stop using the unofficial extended batteries? Because this started about 2 weeks after using them.

I would go a while without using it and see if the issue persist. If it does then you'll have your answer. Either way.

Sounds like your phone's power button is messed. You can try using a small flathead screwdriver and put it into the sides of the power button and rock it around a little bit. If that doesnt work i guess youre going to have to take it to a repair shop or if you have warranty just bring it back.

[Q] Optimus G Sensors not responding

Hey there,
I have been having some issues with my LGOG over the past month or so and I have just started to look into possible solutions.
I first noticed that screen rotation and proximity sensing seemed to be non-functional. I always had problems with screen rotation, but it basically stopped completely after I rooted/unlocked (using manuals on XDA and FreeGee app). I was stuck on ZV8 (couldn't upgrade because root) and figured that an updated ROM would solve my problem.
I have now updated to Lifeless v11 ROM and have found nearly every sensor (including light, sound, proximity, gyro, etc) to be non-responsive. I then thought this must be a kernel problem, so I tried flashing Joker's test kernel (from Aroma) and his Stockish 2.1.1 kernel. No dice. Additionally, I tried to do a sensor calibration and was given the message "Calibration failed. Try again".
I realize there is a possibility that this could be a hardware issue, but is there any other possibility I have overlooked? I have isolated some error messages in logcat, if that would help at all.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Seems like a defective phone. You should return under warranty.

Awesome, will do. Do you know if they will give me trouble for having messed around with things? I suppose I could always just restore my old backup I made with the stock ROM and re-lock the bootloader and unroot.
Do you think I need to go through that? Not that it's the end of the world.

Honestly I would just in case. Ya know? They could say you messed it up with whatever you did and whatnot.
Just for kicks and giggles.. What ROM are you on and what tweaks did you add?
Scratch that. Try reflashing the ROM after a system, cache, and dalvik cache whip. Very well could have been a bad flash. If that's not the case then clear, lock, and unroot.

Very cool, thanks for your great advice!
I was on Lifeless v.11. I tried your suggestion (wipe caches/system and reflash), but unfortunately no dice. I also tried rolling back to my stock backup and there is still no functionality. Seems like I have a broken unit. :/
I'm going to roll everything back as much as I can and cover my tracks so I can try and get a replacement this weekend. Hopefully they don't jerk me around too much in the process!
Thanks again, and have a good week(end).
EDIT:
BTW, I had installed all the tweaks that were installed with Lifeless (quite a comprehensive list). I thought that might be the issue as well, but seeing as how my stock backup is still giving me issues, it looks like it's strictly a hardware issue...
If you have insurance through Sprint you honestly should not need to worry about them knowing you had the phone rooted or anything. They asked me if I rooted the first android phone I had, but said they didn't care, they just had problems with reflashing rooted/unlocked versions of the phone before so were being safe. Now it's to the point where I just tell them I broke it lol. I took my LGOG in yesterday after a failed update/flash back to stock at work. Told him exactly what I did, they ordered me a new phone (New, not a refurb cuz they were on backorder ). I was actually able to get it fixed, and even let them know, and they said they already ordered it so I'll have a new phone on Monday either way lol.
I try to flash back to stock still, just in case that one day they decide to change policies without me knowing. But if I'm in a hurry I don't worry about it.

dont think you are gonna walk in and walk back out with a phone. the G is on backorder. I've been waiting on a replacement since the 16th and still nothing.
Just for future information:
I went into the Sprint Store this afternoon and found, just as others suggested, that they would need time to replace it. They kicker was that they told me that there was no way that I would get a new phone as a replacement. I could expect a refurbished model of unknown quality.
I finally found out that I could take up the issue with LG directly, so I opted to do so. They informed me that as long as there was no impact or water damage (which there isn't), they would do their best to either repair or replace the phone. The problem is that I have to pay to ship the phone to their Texas plant and then wait for up to a week while they repair the unit.
This isn't the best of circumstances, but I figure this might be the better solution. I will be taking photos before I send it to be sure that whatever I get back isn't a random refurb with cosmetic damage (mine is almost pristine).
I'll keep this thread posted with how everything goes.
Same problem
guyz i got the phone from my teacher..he told me that every time he try to factory reset error comes"boot secure error" and phone cant factory reset and also rotation sensor not working ..i flashed official v19G and after that evert single one sensor no working, literally every sensor in showing 0 value through exilar app..any solution which can solve this ..???
my phone model is F180K
That's not a sprint phone. Ls970 is Sprint model,

[Q] Screen is unresponsive with finger

I was running the tweeked rom on my Note 2 and was loving it, was running great for a few days...
Today the screen froze when I went to unlock and check a missed call. I am unable to get any response from my finger, nothing... The S pen does work though.
T-mobile tech knew nothing about how to fix it. I tried a different rom and still the same.
Any suggestions? Calibration? Anything? Thanks so much.
As it exists across roms, it regrettably sounds like a hardware issue. Have you tried flashing a stock odin? Likely won't help but it might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the reply. I am afraid that is a pretty big problem too, related to hardware. 10 minutes before the finger freeze I was just realizing how much I loved the phone with the Tweaked Rom and totally set-up.
Anyways, it's going back to T-mobile. I used Odin to flash to stock and used Triangle Way to reset the flasher... Now I am scared to root it and run a rom on the new one, but I know it was just a freak incident...
Just sucks, I hate getting a refurb replacement... I don't know what dirty, grungy, smelly pocket it's been in for a couple months, uh...
I had an issue on my first note 2 where the top right and left of the screen couldnt register the s pen, had to send the phone back. I flashed jedi as soon as i got the second one and been happy ever since.
Moral of the story, DONT WORRY AND FLASH AWAY. ur right, it was a freak accident and it wont happen again.
