Nova Kernel test
Hi, installed the beta kernel which was smooth (after script modify) but the display has issues. It looks like the contrast levels are way too high so reverted back for the meantime.
Looking forward to next release :good:
I dont know how to read the changelog xD
if u have trouble flashing it, unzip it, then use fastboot.. simple..
btw, i've issues with charging. it cant charge when it's on. i can charge it when it's off. but when i turned it on, it goes to 0%. but i can still use it..
weird.. reverting back then. gonna wait for later release.
thanks.

i think it's confirmed, at least for me.. it cant charge.. on or off. the 0% battery is last for some times than it's dead. i cant "remove the battery". i plugged the phone to the charger and then wait some times, then i can "remove the battery", go to fastboot then flash fxp's kernel. now it's charging properly..
anybody has some issue? or is it just me?
thanks.
Here's a simple guide on how you can get excellent performance with good battery efficiency. Note that the "Kuro kernel" was created by kurotsugi and the "V6 Supercharger Update9 RC 8.2" was made by zeppelinrox.
What You Need:
1. A rooted Samsung Galaxy Y - If you don't know what root is click here
2. Kuro kernel - Note that I didn't make this kernel. It's made by kurotsugi, not me. To download and install, go to the original thread here
3. V6 Supercharger Update9 RC 8.2 - Note that I didn't make it either. It's made by zeppelinrox. To download, go to the original thread here
4. No-Frills CPU Control - Download at Google Play
5. BusyBox Installer (Get the one by JRummy Apps Inc.) - Download at Google Play
6. Script Manager (The one by devwom) - Download at Google Play
7. Android Terminal Emulator - Download at Google Play
Steps:
1. Root your phone.
2. Install Kuro kernel. Just simply flash through CWM.
3. Download and install No-Frills, BusyBox Installer, Script Manager and the Terminal Emulator.
4. Open Busybox Installer and install Busybox version v1.16.2 or higher. Reboot your phone.
5. Install V6 Supercharger Update9 RC 8.2. For instructions, go here
6. Now open No-Frills CPU Control. Set the max clock frequency as 832Mhz and the minimum as 156Mhz.
7. Set the Governor as conservative and the I/O scheduler as noop.
8. Click "Apply on boot" and on the bottom left corner, select "Apply".
9. Now open your Terminal Emulator. Type su then enter. Now type flush then enter. Do this every few hours to get best performance.
Now, you're done
*** Don't forget to THANKS kurotsugi, zeppelinrox and CarlDeanCatabay
Lol..

Conservative + noop gives the battery efficiency. zeppelinrox's V6 Supercharger script gives the performance.

Tested it's stable for me. If you get reboots lower your OC and you'll be fine. Also in about 2-3 hours i'll make another build that i've been testing public. (Smartassv2, OC tweaks, and less loggers and debugging which should make the system faster). I'll try to update kernel as much as i can because i found many useful msm/andreno patches.
P.S. if anyone worked with github PM me with a tutorial because i want to upload sources and i don't know how.
Cheers!

Where is 2.6?
Where is sources?
hi
Where is 2.6?
Do we really need all of those apps and libs packed within the kernel? I've checked and found neither of them in the stock ROM. Mine is E988 10b CIS version.

Can only supply rom under loop of letama's boot manager now.
If anyone are interested in trying it?

Hey.
I'm not really interested in your build, but rather in your sources.
Could you please upload them on github or something like that?
I can help you to fix your issues way easier that way, at least Bluetooth, NFC and SELinux should be easy.
You can also hit me up on hangouts, my email is [email protected], I used to chat with Letama before he gave away his Xperia S .
I can try it since I'm already installed bootmanager

Thumbs up for picking up abandoned dev project and bringing it back to life.
Please make sure you share your sources (cool to hear that @RaymanFX is willing to help). Fully working AOSP and OpenSEMC is what this phone really needs.
Good luck with development.

Sorry only for Boot Manager loop now. See description of Install, need Boot Manager to be installed first. You can Install stock or other under native and my rom under loop, there are many rom for Boot Manager in its thread.
I'm gonna wait for a "normal" version, I really don't wanna mess up with boot manager.

don't have many time to build and test now, maybe this weekend. sorry for that.
PS. Why not use boot manager? I always install stock rom in native and test rom in loop, so if there are any error found on test rom I can switch back to stock rom when I'm outside and can't flash the rom immediately. I think it is safe that won't miss any call or something I must use my phone to do. Anyway it is your choice.
