Do we really need all of those apps and libs packed within the kernel? I've checked and found neither of them in the stock ROM. Mine is E988 10b CIS version.

Tested it's stable for me. If you get reboots lower your OC and you'll be fine. Also in about 2-3 hours i'll make another build that i've been testing public. (Smartassv2, OC tweaks, and less loggers and debugging which should make the system faster). I'll try to update kernel as much as i can because i found many useful msm/andreno patches.
P.S. if anyone worked with github PM me with a tutorial because i want to upload sources and i don't know how.
Cheers!

Hello People
Since long time I have seen many people struggling and requesting someone to share GREAT devil kernel.
*****And here I came**** So I requested DerTeufel1980 and luckily he accepted to share the kernel
without compiling from source i.e. by extracting from his supersonic HellyBean ROM.
That is enough talk
How to install
1-Make sure you run JB 4.2 with stock CM partitioning.
2-Reboot into recovery.
3-Choose kernel zip and flash.
4-For better performance wipe cache & dalvik cache.
N.B. I don't make any modifications to the kernel, I just extract the kernel and share it.
Kernel Source : https://github.com/DerTeufel/samsung-kernel-aries
Features
1. Linux Kernel 3.0.83
2. Normal OC Support ( 1200 , 1300 and 1400MHz steps )
3. Live OC Support ( up to 150% )
4. Voltage Control support
5. ZRAM Support
6. SWAP Support
7. KSM Support
8. Dynamic FSync Support
9. RAM Choice ( 382 , 395 , 408 , 439MB , with auto patching of Bigmem libs )
10. CPU Governors - performance , powersave , userspace, ondemand , conservative , interactive , smartassv2, lazy , lagfree, minmax, lulzactive, wheatley
11. IO Schedulers - noop , row , cfq , zen , deadline , zen , sio
12. XZ Compression support.
13. Devil CWM v 6.0.3.0 Semi Touch Recovery.
14. BLN support.
Latest version Changelog
+ update to Linux 3.0.83
+ update i/o schedulers from Linux 3.4
+ added fiops v2 i/o scheduler

For bug reports please don't over pollute his ROM thread and report over here and I'll test it with HellyBean and report it to him
Kernel will have the same date tag as the ROM version it is extracted from.
First, so every hellybean release? Also it would be great if you provided deviltools as well.

Will upload a new version tonight with devil tools already included in system/app
Edit : no it will be better if I included it in data/app so that you're free to delete it or keep
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Better as /data/app I think too cause you know there's that issue with NsTools that sometimes needs a fix perms to give access to governors settings.. Well the fastest way to fix perms on DevilTools is to use fix permissions apps from market and apply fix perms on it only but the app won't see DevilTools if installed as system/app.
It's about the same but will just spare a reboot to recovery, check that system is mounted, fix permissions,wait....or use RomManager which with the fix perms process will be little long too.
Why not do the whole fix perms by using RomManager or going to recovery, Mount all partitions and apply while we're on it but as it's not mandatory better have choice.
Can we also report bug's ?
Because wifi isn't working here with devil kernel and the latest cm nightly.
And of course thank you very much fort making the kernel accesible

Modded Stock kernel - d802
Features
Based on latest LG source
Built with Linaro 4.8 stable toolchain
Optimised with -O3 compiler flags
Various other optimisations to make it very fast and stable

Updated CPU drivers from Code Aurora
3 phase thermal control (temporarily disabled)
rgb screen colour adjustment
faux sound control
CPU voltage control
Compatible with G3 ROM ports (tested on Cloudyfa and Optimus)
Please see changelog for more features and updates.
I will not be adding overclocking and extra goveners as I really don't see the need for it on a device that performs as well as the G2 does already.

Damn, it's good too see that dev community is getting bigger.
Oh and I can confirm - for example dorimanx used 20B source in His kernel update, and dr87 will use it in upcoming Mahdi Rom beta update.
Btw, it would be nice to see a nice AOSP kernel, just an advice

Actually my touchscreen is faulty, nothing to do with the kernel though. I talked with lg because I would tap on a link for example and it would select one about a centimetre below it.
I've got to sent it back to 3uk for replacement.

okay thanks sir , that's feature is great too if we got it
As I see, you pulled open commits from Gerrit. Nice work. Hope they will be merged soon. BTW, is multilanguage fully supported? I was curious about this, but I am lazy to build and test with unmerged changes.

All features from official and my latest home TWRP builds are present, and there are some of unmerged TWRP features and a couple of my fixes in tree, that are referred to the cache partition.

Yes you are right commits are from the guys i mentioned
For translation i had to rework the theme (because there was only a variable for "install" word )
Btw thx for your tree

Yes, I remember that in all locale examples there was only variable for install button. So that's why I wondered if it completely works.

You're welcome. And my work is shallow in that tree (some changes in fstab and some build flags), it is almost all by @PecanCM (even base ftab was taken from his TWRP build for AOSP KitKat). BTW, I hope you use one from TeamWin repo, not from my GitHub.

The one from mine lacks USB storage mode and fixes for /cache. And there is one essential change that isn't merged even to official tree and can be found on Gerrit: decouple from msm8960-common, as msm8960-common now is empty in CM repo. Without that change you can't build for our device (if you don't pull older android_device_sony_msm8960-common from GitHub), there are some necessary configs there (such as CPU arch and type etc.).
---------- Post added at 18:04 ---------- Previous post was at 18:03 ----------
About theme, I'll ask if I'll need it.

Yea the common change is the same like our Xperia L device (where i mainly build)
So that stuff was well known
I just builded this for M because of a request ^^ and M is nearly equal to L

btw one more thing for you to know:
in twrp.fstab i removed lenght from /data
/data ext4 /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata length=-16384
v
v
v
/data ext4 /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata
because in some cases the lenght causes a behavior that /data is not able to format to f2fs
(somehow the mkfs.f2fs cant work with negative numbers)
PS: i know well that this destroys encryption

Yeah, they are simmilar, and L build works for M with M's fstab (and maybe some rc-files are needed too, I don't remember for sure), I ported L's TWRP to M this way earlier, before I succed building it from source (goddamn SELinux).

AFAIK, encryption doesn't work on our device running CM. So if length flag breaks f2fs formatting, I can remove it, as it is useless for us.
