Hi guys , i am reading all posts every day since i took lumia 900 ...
I just want to flash a good custom firmware from here because i trust all of you ... but there is only one way to do this , as most of the guys here told me ( and trust me i have kick their nerves with my questions :silly: ) the ATF box .... but in Greece its a little bit difficult with it ...
1) I go to a Nokia store and told them to unlock my phone ..... they smile
2) i try to find an ATF box in Greek store .... 450euro
3) i try to find in e-bay ..... 130++ euro
so , what can i do to fix my phone ?
with 450euro i sell it and buy a new one with wp8 ( like 820 ) 420 in greece
with 130++euro and selling my device i buy again a 820 lumia .....
Have you anything else to help me , or maybe working on something
because i buy this lumia 900 2months ago and its shame to give it before i use it ....
( sorry if i write something wrong , but my english arent perfect , and i may say some things again , but belive me i have read all forum 2-3 times in this 2 months ..... )
If you want to use an ATF box, go to a generic cell phone repair shop. Nokia will not do it for you because doing so will void your warranty.
there is one thing that needs to be considered: On Lumia 900 mainboard, there is a shield (or something that made by inox ) covers some points that ATF Box needs to connect with.
Therefore, having ATF box & cables is not enough. You need to be very skillful

I agree with this , but I don really know if it worth it all this ,
I have done 2 weeks research in all over heraklion Crete ( because I study here )
And I don't find nothing at at all ...
I lost 2 weeks asking people ... and I wonder after all , I do all this for what reason ;
For 10 apps that are in bazzar ;
Or for a custom rom ;
That's the bad staff about wp7 phones ..
You need much time , money and magical skills to unlock it and if you do it you have very little things to get from this ...
So I bored and let it go ...

Really great policy Microsoft ... Send us all to android and ios , even with my previous Symbian I had much better and useful apps and games ....
And lovely Nokia , its so sad that those great lumia phones ( because the characteristics are great ) have so bad software , i absolutely through so much money for one phone with 0 useful apps ....

So basically you're saying - "I can't hack the phone so I'm better off with iOS/Android"?
I'll tell you a little secret - WP is probably not good for you. It's not very customizable, and (apparently) very well protected - if you want to hack your device, you should not buy a WP device at the time being.
There's nothing to rant about, it's either you acknowledge the fact that your device - when unhacked - is what you get, or get another device.

''
I'll tell you a little secret - WP is probably not good for you.'' -------------> I AGREE
Sorry my friend , if i disagree with you '' It's not very customizable, and (apparently) very well protected '' ... but :
1) everyone i asked BEFORE buying the device told me that ... IT will be hacked AND
2) everything ARE hacked in 2013 ... and doesnt be hacked because we are cleverer than the developers of each company ,
but been hacked because companies want to hacked ..... to sell PROGRAMMS/Chargers/covers etc.... ( look iphone , you can find iphone things in Supermarket of your area.....
3) i bought this phone because i want to buy something different than all other phones i had until now ..... and because i thought that Microsoft will have left a way to be hacked
4) except that , i buy this phone and ( everyone buy a phone ) not only for the '' firmware '' but for the APPS ... usefull almost apps ... So , MICROSOFT IS MICROSOFT i say , they have great apps for sure ..... and with NOKIA that has the better apps many years now years before other companies , it will be something PERFECT in the next months ....
I then BUY it and ,
1)The ONLY usefull apps in lumia is my bank app , Office and some good games .....
2) There are 5 good apps in all WP phones BUT need your phone hacked to get installed
3) Nokia doesnt support WP7 phones ( they must give us WP8 .... and not only 1 different look ) and all of them inside a year !!!!!!! 2 generations of one phone , with the same start price and difference of some months are not policy /.././././/. and here in Greece we havent a company who give us Lumia 920 with 100 euro + Lumia 900 ... they just laugh ...
4) Too use the 100% of the power of the phone that you get it
with more than 400 euros , you have to get it hacked ..... ( because if i dont want good apps , i will stay at Nokia 6310 wich i have it in 2000 ...... )
5) I see a ridiculous update ( i mean that wich make my phone get hot , dont charge and seperates the installed apps by its letter :/ ...
'' -----------------------------------> 5 simple things , and i m sure that nobody disagree with me <--------------------------------------------------------------- ......
And finally when i understand after some months that i need to hack my phone for not crying about my money , i see that they have lock it up so well , that i need one machine which price in Greece is 300-350 euros and I RISK it ....
Sorry if i was agressive ,
but i really dont have nothing with you ...
I just explain myself because i dont want to be misunderstandings ,
and i want to explain you that is not Hacked or Android/ios ........ ITS USEFULL or Android/ios ............
I Like Nokia , I had many Nokia models from 2000 and after and i respect this company , BUT i see that Nokia dont respect me ....
So I believe that will change this BAD policy and unlock our phones ....
NOKIA dont give as WP8 , just unlock our phones ...

The Sony Smartwatch 3 is fully capable of housing Wear 2.0 and has the same specs as half of the devices that are getting the update. Also, it has NFC which you could use with the new Android Pay! I'm not sure if the NFC on the SW3 is full fledged but either way, I think this device should receive wear 2.0 regardless of how old it is if the specs can handle it. If you think so too, email Sony and if a lot of us do it maybe they'll notice. Here's a copy of what I sent them:
Very disappointed that the Smartwatch 3 will not be receiving Wear 2.0. It's very unreasonable as it has the same specs as half of the devices that will be getting the upgrade. In fact, it has better specs than some! The SW3 has NFC which is now finally going to be useful with Android Pay! Just take one good look at any website that just posted about Wear 2.0 and you'll see it's not just me that's upset about this. This device is a great smartwatch and is fully capable of housing Android Wear 2.0.
Update!!: Sorry, guys! I haven't been getting any email notifications from this thread. I had no idea so many people have been viewing it! Here is the link to where you can send them an email: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/swr50/contactUs/mail/?region=en_GB
Hope this works, fingers crossed.
Update 2: I will be making a separate thread but here I see a link to a change.org petition I made because the other one wasn't very persuasive. https://www.change.org/p/sony-wear-2-0-on-sony-sw3?recruiter=680990369&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=share_email_responsive
Well stated!
Which sony email that you used? Can i have it too?
Hello SW3 users.
My concern is that the new app delivery model will make our watch a dumb watch. I bought this watch less than a year ago just for the fitness apps, and without them for me it's completely useless.
To the OP: if you share the email address that you've used we can concentrate on a single target!
http://www.xperiablog.net/2017/02/08/sony-smartwatch-3-not-on-the-android-wear-2-0-list/
This just makes me wanna crawl in a corner and cry. I dont think its Sony's fault I blame stupid Google because if it wernt for them all snapdragon 801 devices would have Nougat offically but because they dont wanna give them vulkan support they dont. Same with the SW3 and its a load of crap with the SW3 if we dont get it because most watches only have 2 cores enabled so if they enabled the other 2 wouldnt that count as extra power? Snapdragon 400 should be enough for wear 2.0. I will be really sad if we dont get wear 2.0.
Edit: Huawei watch doesnt even have NFC. Unlike some other watches we also have wifi too i cant see what would be missing to support wear 2.0.
I have sent a message to Sony via the Xperia Care email form.
using the email link on this page.

Sony UK told me today on live chat that they won't upgrade
It's the same as with KK for the Sony Xperia SP, a very popular device. It was on their site and then suddenly it wasn't anymore and then the final message NO KK for the SP.
I really doubt it that SW3 will get AW2.0 for the reasons that all big companies are not interested in updating, only selling new.

Likewise, I assumed as much when I bought the watch late last year - very much case of "good price and I'm not going to expect much from a device over 2 years old".
Shame though!

OK guys we can't stay and just look, we have to do what we can.
The Asus Zenwatch 2 have A.W. 2, is a square watch like the SW3 the screen is just 0'03 ' bigger, the processor is the same, the SW3 has NFC an important features of A.W. 2 something that haven't the ZW2silly. There are our argument, you can had other if you want.
Now we have to create a polemic about programmed obsolescence we have to contact the tech press of our country. Google and Sony will not want to be in this case. In France programmed obsolescence is now an offence.
I believe in you, contact specialized press and consumer association.:fingers-crossed:

Welcome to Sony Xperia Support, my name is Didrik F. I’m currently reading your question. Please provide your e-mail address and contact number for personalized support.
Claus 10:38:20 am
Does the Sony Smartwatch get upgraded to Android Wear 2.0?
Didrik F 10:40:21 am
Currently Smartwactch 3 is not on the list of smartwatches to be updated to Android Wear 2.0. There is however a possibility that it might receive it later.
Claus 10:42:10 am
Ok, but you are stirring up MAJOR confusion, since several retailers and articles states that it WILL be upgraded. And other users had that confirmed by your english support. Then all of a sudden you either say it wont (message from the english support) or says it might. Either way you are backpedaling from previous claims (and a lot of info out there confirming the upgrade)
So just be honest if you ran into unforseen consequenses.. (or are considering a Smartwatch 4) 10:43:03 am
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/general/upgrade-to-android-wear-2-0-t3495518 10:44:14 am
Didrik F 10:44:25 am
We currently don't have any information about any possible unforseen consequenses or if/when Smartwatch 4 will be developed. You can however find more information about the Smartwatch 3 and Android wear on our blog.
https://www.xperiablog.net/2017/02/08/sony-smartwatch-3-not-on-the-android-wear-2-0-list/
Claus 10:44:31 am
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/general/leak-aw2-0-somewhat-confirmed-t3417669
The first link is confirmation from your own support. The other is a commercial advertising the watch with aw2.0 10:45:37 am
In the first post you can find several links to ad's, articles and other that hints the upgrade. Can you understand the confusion? 10:46:19 am
.. but the confusion start spreading around page 5
Didrik F 10:48:41 am
I can understand the confusion, but currently the Smartwatch 3 only supports Android Wear 1.5 and we currently don't have any information about it possibly getting the newest update to Android Wear 2.0.
Didrik F 10:50:48 am
I can see that you were in contact with the XDA-forum, which we do not have any direct contact with. So I can neither confirm or deny what they are telling you.
Claus 10:53:44 am
Those are dedicated users THAT IS QUOTING EMAILS from both your english and french support stating that the watch will get updated to Android Wear 2.0.. It is not XDA telling me that it will.. It is users quoting mails from your own support. Untill you suddenly backpedaled a few days ago.. Something tells me that you had unforseen beef with google, but you wont admit it.
We just want what was hinted to us in both support-mails and ads (which admittedly was taken down again, but well documented). Its not to be rough, but I smell a class-action lawsuit incoming. 10:54:52 am
You have some VERY dedicated customers. And it doesn't quite seem like you know how oustanding a product your watches really is compared to the market. You should really embrace this niche. 10:55:57 am
Didrik F 10:56:42 am
I'm sorry, but as I said, we currently don't have any more information about Android Wear 2.0 and if it will be released to Smartwatch 3.
Claus 10:57:17 am
Ok.. And the earlier mails from your english and french support was a mistake, or?
And one last thing.. I reached out via mail support several times, but haven't got and answer: The swr510c adapter, briefly on the market in japan, will that be back in stock? Either in japan or elsewhere on the globe? 10:59:14 am
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-SWR510C-Wrist-Holder-SmartWatch/dp/B017YHTYKI 11:00:04 am
A piece of plastic, currently going on ebay for same as the price of the watch.. So I think its sought for.
Didrik F 11:02:56 am
As we are only the support for the Nordic market, I cannot answer questions about the other countries markets. If you want information about when items will be in stock in our E-store, I suggest that you contact our E-store support.
Contact info: https://sonyestore.zendesk.com/hc/sv/articles/205363242-Kundtjänst
Claus 11:02:58 am
The metal band sells for 300 dollars, this piece of plastic for 150.. You treat the watch as a foster-baby, and don't see how dedictated a user base and how well made a product you actually have.
But thanks for nothing I guess.. 11:03:31 am
Didrik F 11:03:47 am
Sorry, I gave you the wrong link. https://sonyestore.zendesk.com/hc/sv/articles/205363242-Kundtjänst is the correct one.
Is there anything else I can help you with right now?
Claus 11:04:53 am
Yeah... I might actually need some contact to the support/estore for japan, to get answered if it will be back in stock there.
Didrik F 11:07:27 am
If you have a market-specific question I can only ask you to contact that specific market. We have no direct E-mail adress or phone-number to them. The best I can do is to send you a link to the Japanese website, which is in japanese.
Claus 11:08:33 am
Ok.. Then again.. Thanks for nothing and have a nice weekend.. I have the PS4, Sony mobile, 55" TV and a watch.. Will consider my future engagement in the light of this.
Didrik F 11:08:46 am
Thank you for contacting Sony Xperia Support! Have a nice day!
If you need more information regarding our products, please visit www.sonymobile.com
The most I can suggest is wait for MWC if Sony doesnt unveil a new SW4 then there is still a chance that we could get AW2.0. On most sites they only say that the moto 360 and lg r watch arent getting it because they are 2014 devices with no wifi or NFC but they don't say anything about SW3. Dont forget SW3 is Sonys only android wear watch. Either it gets the update or they make SW4. Lets just wait till MWC I cant see what the point of making an SW4 would be at the moment. Most if not all watches have basically the exact same specs as SW3. I even compared our watch with the 2015 Huawei watch and we actually have a bigger screen, mor mah on the battery and NFC. Yet the Huawei watch gets the Dev preview. I think maybe it could be because the SW3 isnt as expensive as most other watches and is seemed less premium and more as a sports watch. I dont like that because it can still be a nice looking watch with the right strap. Im just trying to work my head round it. Its really is like KK on the SP again.
Contacting Sony Support is kind of pointless because you will find in different regions they will tell you different things. In one place they will say yeah well get it and in another no we wont. Its the same with their bravia support because me and a few others have been contacting them about HDR which they now claim on their site our TV has but it only does something with the content through USB. So yeah its not Sony I think you should be blaming but Google as Sony wanna be first to issue 7.1 as an oem and theyre still supporting their 2015 bravias which is good. They also still support their own old consoles too. I think we should be contacting God damn Google not Sony. Google even killed off all snapdragon 801 devices by refusing to support vulkan with the chip. The snap 801 device are really good too. Google refuse to do the drives for them. SCREW GOOGLE!!! Theyre the ones to blame if we dont get the update.

True, it's just sad that everyone keep begging xiaomi for Android 10 update, seriously.
They should have appreciated on what xiaomi offers with this phone at this kind of price like good display, build quality and superior cameras! You are getting what you payed for.
I mean... if they, or you, really love Android 10 flavouring their A3, just grab a big selection of Android 10 custom ROM from our community, its way simpler than keep doing that. I know they may have bugs but they like Android 10 because of these... Dark mode, gesture navigation, privacy control, etc.
Now if they, or you decide to keep on begging xiaomi for Android 10 update, by all means go ahead! But this won't speed up their (xiaomi dev) development. Simple common sense, isn't it?
I strongly disagree with you, how does Xiaomi have enough resources to build MIUI 11? In fact Xiaomi has also released MIUI11 based Android 10 updates, if they have enough resources for them then they definitely work on Android One phones too.
Another thing: The reason Android One phones are supposed to get updates faster is manufacturers don't need to modify the OS much as compared to their own flavour (MIUI).
If they don't have enough resources they should not produce a Android One phone at first place. The MI A3 community is not being impatient, the update is quite late already, clearly there is no benefit of this phone having Android One program.

No brother, users are NOT getting what they paid for. Faster updates was one of the main selling point of this Phone, clearly Xiaomi has no interest in their Android One devices, their priority has always been phones with MIUI. And yes, NOT everyone has enough technical knowledge to flash custom roms.

They surely don't have as much income from Android One opposed to MIUI, which is their brand. Of course they are not working as hard on it and the teams working on MIUI are definitely bigger. The number of phones that got Q is really handful compared to Xiaomi's lineup and those that did got an update, cost a lot more than this device. THAT is whole point.

Well, I'm not sure about mid-range devices which have received Android 10 update, but If you go to Android One's website, their title says "Secure, up-to-date and easy to use", but unfortunately our devices have been outdated for quite a while now. Simple.
But yes, we can't do anything but to wait.

Outdated? We have patch from 5th December and we're in the middle of January. Sounds pretty up-to- date to me. Don't confuse the latest Android version with the latest security patch - Android One is primarily about monthly security updates. 2 Android version upgrades are a nice bonus, but with no guaranteed time frame when is it going to be received.
Fuuuuuu

Xiaomi never said it will release faster update, they just said Android One provides a simple, clean UI, providing 2 yrs of software update and 3 yrs of security update only.
If they had no interest on A series phone then why they joined Android One program and manufacturing a widely successful Mi A1 in the first place? They put priority to MIUI phones because MIUI has ads in it, Xiaomi makes money from them, whereas Android One, Xiaomi didn't make any money at all. Then why they keep making Android One phones? Just because users love clean Android, that is something you can't beat with.
Our community provides a large numbers of tutorials on how unlock bootloader/root/install custom ROM, so many of you shouldn't have any difficulties, in case if they have so, our community members will be nice enough to help them find/ solve their difficulties.
m4RinKo2 said:
Spolier: this is a rant about the community and their impatience.
Ever since I bought the device 3 months ago, I immediately started searching for ROMs and Telegram groups, etc. And all the time I was seeing people spamming threads, groups and even official Xiaomi Twitter page with questions about the update and such. Some also contacted the customer support and asked them about the update, although the customer support doesn't have any idea about it. And I saw a tweet from Mi India that the update will come mid February. Most replies to that were like: "**** you xiaomi, I will never buy your phone again, you disappointed your customers....".
First of all, it was never said on the Android One page nor the Mi A3 page that the updates will be immediate.
Secondly, building and polishing an Android update to maybe millions of devices costs money and time. I'm not saying that we will get a bug free update, but something probably close to. You can't expect from a company that releases new phones every month with minimal profit margins to push updates so fast. Some flagships still didn't get the update, but their price was 2 or 3 times bigger. You get what you pay for. Appreciate that you have a really nice phone for nothing basically.
Lastly, that behavior is cancerous. Being angry at a company for not fullfiling all of your expectations is your problem. Rather than spamming groups and whatnot, spend some time finding phones that suit you better or find devs that you can donate to. Send them a dollar or two so that they can pay their building servers and drink coffee while removing bugs with no logs.

For your opinion must waiting on september.few days befor release android 11.
This is not android one my friend is meizu rom.
The most of miui took android 10 and xiaomi forget the vanila android.
This is the truth.
Is the last time buy xiaomi smartphone.never i will buy again this brand.
I have delete until now 3 brands.
Apple motorola xiaomi.
This phone has easy to unlock the boot loader and a bunch of custom ROMs. Go over to the other forums for other phones. It's crickets on the dev side.
Clean Android: good. If mi 9 had it I would jump on one. A month or two delay over the life of the phone is not a huge deal.
I have used 2 Android One phones recently. And they were soo cheap phones. Now I have the Mi A3 and this phone is more expensive than the others. (In Android One category)
And these phones updated very fast. Beta tests begin 1 week after the beta release for Pixel phones. So Android One program means an early update to me. If the update will be late why did I bought this phone?
But there is a point to mention. Another android one phone that I have purchased at the same time with A3, didn't receive Android 10 eighter. There could be a problem with the Google maybe?
i agree with you friend but please explain why A2 got update before A3?

And in your first point there was a promise, refer to mannu jain tweet. What is the meaning of "One of the first few device" if 2 year old nokia phone got an update, and Samsung cheap phone also received it and motorola too. Then what is the meaning of that tweet, please explain it too sir.

And I repeat, no one said, not Google nor Xiaomi, that Android One updates are faster.
Name me a midrange phone that got Q? Galaxy A50... nope?

Nokia 7.1, motorola one action
It’s just a typical way of thinking of those who had very few or even no knowledge about how programming and the software development process works…
Keep dumping pressure to devs only makes things worse.
It's like torque down the wheel nuts without even using a proper torque wrench; imagine if a guy was hurrying tightening down the nuts by bare hands. The wheels nuts can be loosened up and fall off the car! How safe would that be? Same applies for software development, if they rushed for an update, it can be buggy as hell, who knows!
So “Patience” is definitely the key, I had the same experience with A2 last year, where people just kept begging for Android 9 update. Xiaomi rushed, and pushes out buggy update like battery drain, inconsistent UI, and more severe, bootloop in its Jan update. Now, A2 got android 10 update doesn't mean it is better, it can have bugs like UI, bluetooth, slow charging bugs. It's a last major software update for A2, Xiaomi can rush the update, can't they? I know in Xiaomi website it said "Android one provides up-to-date software experience", but there's the fact that nothing is absolute. The update can be delayed for whatever reason.
The A3 is a cheap, budget, yet mid-range phone and people still want to interpret it as a “flagship” phone. Although this is an Android One phone, Xiaomi still need to fix bugs and add their own custom features. That would generally take some times for the completion, that doesn’t even count for fixing various bugs. Even though Motorola, Nokia phones get Android 10, it’s just depends on certain devs. They can be more productive than us.
Even more surprising, when Xiaomi india replied a tweet at twitter saying that android 10 will arrive on mid-Feb. People are screwed... they f**k Xiaomi and said that they won’t buy their phone again. Well, I feel quite miserable on why are people so impatient and complaining so much, seriously.
That is all I want to say, and I don’t want to dump any more time in this weird tragedy. If you disagree with me, feel free to blame, swear, or report to me. But the Fact that 'the arrival of Android 10 has no exact date' is going to Never change! So please, stop complaining about the update.
Thanks Captain!

First of all, it was never said on the page that the updates will be immediate.
Secondly, building and polishing an Android update to maybe millions of devices costs money and time. I'm not saying that we will get a bug free update, but something probably close to. Thank you for this Post! got already tired of people complaining about a good, cheap phone whose dev's are taking care of a bug free release first instead of rushing things. The A3 is working purrrfeect for what you pay <3
From my point of view thinking of that mi A3 has some type of priority is as foolish as of believing that this extra time (Chinese New year) will mean a more polished and refined rom.
I think someone should learn what Android One means before starting to make a thread.

Thats completely untrue. Xiaomi have made alluded to faster android upgrades for their Android One phones. And sometimes even made direct statements on that issue - one statement was from Manu (India's VP) saying "Mi A3 is going to be one of the first few devices to get Android Q".
After all the hype about faster updates from their fanbase, now you've amazingly said Xiaomi never promised anything at all! How very Trumpian of you.
And now you've made some more incredible statements like Xiaomi is only producing Android one phones because they have to, not because they actually want to, and Xiaomi don't make any money at all on these phones. No facts, no figures, just an outright assertion.
Customs roms are nice but it has no bearing on this issue. These roms are generally not vetted, tested, checked to see if they are stable and free from malware.

Bro, would like to disagree with you here. If in the end we have to choose a custom rom, then why would I buy an Android One device. I could simply buy a MiUI based Xiaomi device and simply install custom rom (Probably that's what the Xiaomi wants). The other reason people prefer Android One device is to get rid of complications a custom rom develop.
Secondly, there's no hiding away from the fact that update is delayed for whatever reason may it be. Both the parties are at fault, I agree lots of people are baby shouting about Android 10 but the fact is and will be is that the update has been delayed. And for this no one is blaming developers. I always respect the developers. They work behind the scenes without getting applaused. But the anger of people is over Xiaomi not the developers. The fact is people showing here as if they care for developrs are actually diverting the company's fault to developrs. Xiaomi aren't focusing on Android One with majority of developers assigned to MiUI. And this device is not the one which has been sold less. This is one of the best selling phones. It offering a lot at this price.

Typical non-committal language - just consider how many vendors and devices are out there - if the Mi A3 gets Android 10 in March 2020, it might very well be part of the "first few devices". In short, there is no reason to assume Mr. Manu wasn't being truthful at the time of tweeting this (back in Aug 2019). That is what he was led to believe then.
Xiaomi should be a bit more open about the roadmap/update progress, to ease everyone's mind.
