[Q] How to unlock LS980 on Kitkat 4.4.2 - Sprint LG G2

I am looking for a working link to a tutorial explaining how to globally unlock LG G2 LS980 (Android Version 4.4.2, Software Version LS980ZVC).
I tried several, but can't unlock the phone. Most pages say "Total Commander doesn't work on KitKat". I've rooted the phone already. And Root Checker confirms the same.
I have come down to this. As soon as I restart the phone after deleting the telephony.db file (which should stop the phone looking for Sprint), the file gets regenerated. And also, Kitkat does not allow Total Commander to copy files to phone. I had to do that in Root Explorer
Can anyone suggest a link or method to unlock the phone?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Root LG G3 D855P - Rom version V10o

Hello everybody!
I have a problem concerning the completion of the root process on my device LG G3 D855P - Rom version V10o.
After upgrading to the V10o version, the root was removed and since then I try to trouble reactive it.
I tried to make the root through various APK's such as: Framarrot, Towerlroot ... I also tried using ".exe" via PC, such as: Ioroot, PurpleDrake, UnlockRoot, among others.
I was not happy in any process so far. I wish someone could help me regarding the realization of root on my device.
Thanks in advance !!
Thanks to some idiot, team codefire left g3 behind for good.
There will be no more root for g3 unless someone else does it.
Only way to get root back is going back to stock rom reported working with root and dont upgrade if you wanna keep root
Sent from my LG-D852 using XDA Free mobile app
PurpleDrake is working with v10o.
If you have properly installed LG drivers and USB debugging is enabled, it's good to go.
Got it!
Guys, it worked.
I made this ... I changed the MTP option for PTP then open a window PurpleDrake, it failed to carry out the root, she kept open and open another window of PurpleDrake, yes this worked.
Installed SuperSU and ta all right.
Thanks guys.

Help With G3 and ROOT

So i am having problems with my LG G3. I recently purchased a Blue LG G3 off ebay for verizon. It works perfectly with verizon and shortly after having it i accidentaly updated it to 5.1. I really wanted to root it but cant find a root tool anywhere that works. I have tried a TON. One of them even bootlooped my phone and about gave me a heart attack
Another thing that is interesting is when i go into firmware update mode down at the bottem is says MODIFIED in red letters... What does this mean? it said this before i tried any root tools. If anyone has any idea of tools i could try id love to know. I tried to downgrade the thing with LGflashtools using TOT and that didnt work. Then i tried kdz and almost bricked my phone. I was using appropiate files for both. Each time i attempt root i get a #fail with everything or it just reboots..
Thanks for any help,
Underarourjws
You can use this to root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Be sure that you have ADB enabled, otherwise it won't work.
And you can't do any ota when you are rooted.
Since your phone is running LP, if the above method doesn't work for you, use the first method in this thread...
[GUIDE][ROOT] Newest Root Method for LG devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
If the first method doesn't work, the second method in the OP will. If using the second method, download and extract the attached file to the root directory... New_LG_Root_v0.1_by_dig.zip Then open a command prompt from within the extracted directory, and run the posted commands.

Question about H815P Root

I got my G4 2 days ago and I really want to root it, but unfortunately I realised I have an H815P model and can't be bootloader unlocked, so I can't root it.
I looked around for ways to get past this little inconvenience and found there is a way to root without an unlocked bootloader. The problem now is, this method seems a little old and was originally created for Lollipop, but my phone shipped with Marshmallow already installed and on firmware version 20D.
So the question I want to ask is, will the method of extracting the system.img and injecting root and flashing that back, work with Marshmallow and my variant of the G4?
And if that is indeed possible and will work, will the root files from this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765) work with Marshmallow, or is it specific to Lollipop?
EDIT: Another link to a tutorial about extracting the system.img and injecting root (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/tut-guide-step-step-guide-rooting-h818p-t3227798); will this tutorial and root files work with Marshmallow and my variant, or is it also Lollipop specific?
Something else I also want to add: my phone info in settings says it's an H815P model, but the Droid Info app on the play store reports it as a 'regular' H815. Does this make a difference, or is it just the app's inability to report the proper variant?
I'm really only interested in getting root, as I don't intend to flash custom ROMs; I just want to use one or two apps that require root, like Titanium Backup, and I'm sure there must be a way to get this device rooted.

You cannot root on marshmallow.. I downgraded my device to Lollipop using KDZ files and then injected root by flashing the rootedsystem image
If you have a H815P device you can't unlock the Bootloader so the only way to root it -for now -is on Lollipop. To get root access on your device you have to do this:
1. Downgrade to 10c (Android 5.1) w/ LGUP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803)
2. Get root access on 10c (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765) (don't listen to the warning not to use on H815P .. it works)
I have an H815P device and this worked for me yesterday..

This would mean then that I won't be able to upgrade to Marshmallow, or any other upgrades that comes after that?
U will be able to go back to stock. When u decide u don't want root anymore u can just flash the correct kdz for h815p and u back to stock
---------- Post added at 09:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:53 PM ----------
Also you dont have to flash H815 kdz u can just extract your current system img and inject root with a ubuntu vm
check out this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586
Both methods work well ive tried both on my device
You can always upgrade via LGUP but if you want to have root access so you must be on LP
Thank you everyone for your help and advice. I've downgraded and rooted now and it worked, with a slight side-effect; the downgrade formatted my internal storage and I lost all my pictures and other data
I wish the guides were a little more clear about this, that downgrading would format your internal storage, as well. At least I'm rooted now.
So, can anyone recommend an undelete program that actually works and can restore my lost pictures, specifically?

DESPERATE!!! Need help rooting HTC Desire 816 (710c) VM Single sim.

I have an HTC desire 816 (710c) Virgin Mobile. I have tried the following: King Root- APK and PC. KingoRoot- APK and PC, Framaroot APK, iRoot APK and PC, Towelroot APK, Z4Root APK, RootMaster APK, One click root APK and PC, Baidu Root APK, And none have gained full root permision. I have had Temp roots with both King Root and KingoRoot, but it seems to only last minutes and then my phone reboots on its own and its back to no root. I have my bootloader unlocked which I thought was supposed to prevent this sort of thing? Im running 5.0.2 stock. I'm fairly versed on this subject so this is becoming very frustrating for me, ive been trying for over a week now. I know i could flash a rooted rom but i have tried literally at least 12 different ones for every variation of my phone possible, from CM 11 up to CM13.. and when I go to flash it says (roughly) "this file is for A5, A5DUG, A5.., This phone is A5dug"......How is that possible? I dont know if this is relevant or not but when im in recovery mode up top it says "A5chl" in the specs area... but thats not what it seems to think it is? I have managed to successfully flash once but it was for a dual sim variant of the 816, needless to say it was jacked up and i had to go back to stock. I must be missing something.. Anyways, im rambling on now. Im desperate, PLZ help me. I have run out of ideas and losing hope quickly.
Cheers,
Mikey

Truly, no offense meant but you're evidently not that well versed because you didn't need to flash any of those exploits to obtain root on the 816 a5_chl VM version because I didn't do any of that and I have root on this same device using V_ Superuser's XDA tutorial thread.
Unlock bootloader through HTCdev then flash current TWRP version for the A5 using ADB/fastboot then download the SuperSU flashable zip file from it's website to the root of your internal SD card then install/flash the zip file using the newly installed TWRP custom recovery. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache then reboot system and you're device is rooted.
After this you can S off with the Sunshine app (my preference) or flash the lollipop WP_ mod.no write permission mod to be able to use root apps like Link2SD and you're done again.
Edit: I've also flashed all of these same custom roms with little issue so something else must be going on there as well. I would get your stock recovery reinstalled ( there are several links to it here in XDA ) ,relock your bootloader and flash/run executable of the stock RUU for the VM A5 found on HTC's download page then start over because I assume you don't have a backup to the stock firmware saved somewhere ?

30e rollback to root device

Hi All! New here and looking to root my device and roll back to 30d to do so. Is there and step by steps as i downloaded thr proper drivers, lg mobile flasher, and the kdz file to perform the down grade. I found thevpost with all the links but am i supposed to just go into download mode and just flash thr kdz and go ahead with kingroot and then flash twrp using flashify as well as supersu? Its been a while i rooted my device.
Yes use KDZ to flash back D85130D then make sure your on wifi oe data .
1. Download kingroot and install
2. Dowbload LG-G3-Flasable-Boot-AUTOREPACK.zip from here. And put on root folder or phone storage . http://redirect.viglink.com/?format...&txt=LG-D85130D-Flashable.Boot-AUTOREPACK.zip
3. Download the latest TWRP for d851. Put on root of phone storage. And download SuperSu latest verison and put on root of phone storage
4. Download Banks Gapps 6.x.x.x. Put on root of phone storage
5. Dowbload and install flashify
6. Run kingroot till you are temp rooted
7. Flash twrp in flashify
8. Reboot into recovery
9. In twrp click install and install the AUTOREPACK
10. Now click back and go to install on twrp and install SuperSu.
Now once all done you are now permananet rooted on D85130D with Super Su. Also you can do the code trick to turn of OTA update google it or you can download a app called disable service and inside the app go to googleplayservices and you will see a bunch of stuff with checkmarks look for the one called systemupdateservices and un check it it will ask for root grant it . the. There you have it no more OTA
Kingroot just won't work for me at all on my LG D851. I've tried repeatedly on numerous occasions within the last 2 weeks and it's the same thing.....No Support for This Device. I have downloaded the apk from different links, direct download, mirror........I can't even remember now from what other sources besides those I used also. What am I doing wrong, it's as simple as hitting the install button (besides the google warning).
I got a G3 yesterday & tried several root methods, KingRoot (this app seems dicey to me, it adds a lot of other "stuff" that I don't want need), Stumproot (which said FAIL system is patched, and PurpleDrake method (which, after finding & rebooting phone, sat at awaiting device for 20+ minutes), and LG_root, where you had to type in the root script (also fail). I have successfully rooted my wifes G3 earlier this year (D851 same model as mine) but this one's a big PITA (ota updated to 30d MM )
