30e rollback to root device - T-Mobile LG G3

Hi All! New here and looking to root my device and roll back to 30d to do so. Is there and step by steps as i downloaded thr proper drivers, lg mobile flasher, and the kdz file to perform the down grade. I found thevpost with all the links but am i supposed to just go into download mode and just flash thr kdz and go ahead with kingroot and then flash twrp using flashify as well as supersu? Its been a while i rooted my device.

Yes use KDZ to flash back D85130D then make sure your on wifi oe data .
1. Download kingroot and install
2. Dowbload LG-G3-Flasable-Boot-AUTOREPACK.zip from here. And put on root folder or phone storage . http://redirect.viglink.com/?format...&txt=LG-D85130D-Flashable.Boot-AUTOREPACK.zip
3. Download the latest TWRP for d851. Put on root of phone storage. And download SuperSu latest verison and put on root of phone storage
4. Download Banks Gapps 6.x.x.x. Put on root of phone storage
5. Dowbload and install flashify
6. Run kingroot till you are temp rooted
7. Flash twrp in flashify
8. Reboot into recovery
9. In twrp click install and install the AUTOREPACK
10. Now click back and go to install on twrp and install SuperSu.
Now once all done you are now permananet rooted on D85130D with Super Su. Also you can do the code trick to turn of OTA update google it or you can download a app called disable service and inside the app go to googleplayservices and you will see a bunch of stuff with checkmarks look for the one called systemupdateservices and un check it it will ask for root grant it . the. There you have it no more OTA

Kingroot just won't work for me at all on my LG D851. I've tried repeatedly on numerous occasions within the last 2 weeks and it's the same thing.....No Support for This Device. I have downloaded the apk from different links, direct download, mirror........I can't even remember now from what other sources besides those I used also. What am I doing wrong, it's as simple as hitting the install button (besides the google warning).

I got a G3 yesterday & tried several root methods, KingRoot (this app seems dicey to me, it adds a lot of other "stuff" that I don't want need), Stumproot (which said FAIL system is patched, and PurpleDrake method (which, after finding & rebooting phone, sat at awaiting device for 20+ minutes), and LG_root, where you had to type in the root script (also fail). I have successfully rooted my wifes G3 earlier this year (D851 same model as mine) but this one's a big PITA (ota updated to 30d MM )

TWN/TAIWAN V20İ LGD855 - Root Methods Don't WORK :(

Hi everyone,
I have D855 INT, version TWN/TAIWAN. v20i officially released in a few days. I flashed v20i kdz file with flash tool, rom is perfect. When I try to root with One Click Root tool or DP Root, DP Tools and SEND_COMMAND script etc. all methods do not works at this time. Is there a way to root v20i? I use both v20h and v20p, I had not any root problems. How you root when you get v20i?
Thanks.

I am not getting error. SU Binary does not installed, so I could not get the root access. I think LG blocked that.
This woreked for me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/root-g3-pc-kingroot-t3136013
Try several times if you don't get at first
Downgrade first maybe?
I had to downgrade to my carrier's stock ROM for Kitkat and then I was able to root with the methods listed above. Then I could flash a custom recovery with Flashify and flash a nice ROM like Cyanogenmod or something. Proccess took a while as I soft bricked my phone originally haha
D855 TAIWAN V20İ 16GB, didn't work

Thx a lot, it worked for me (the other solutions didn't work).
It failed the 1st time. After to clean it (clean recent apps), it succeed the 2nd time :good:
Then, you can do this to have SuperSU and to remove Kingroot: http://zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/
(I confirm that it's ok on my LG G3 32g TWN-v20i)
Help.
Any other effective method to root LG G3 32GB D855 v20i-TWN? I Actually tried every method I could find From one click root to manual and king root. Nothing works with my phone. :crying:
How many times did you try Kingroot? It took me about 5 times to get it to work. You must also be connected to the internet. I have the exact same model and it did work after a few tries.

I tried alot of times more that 10 ans different versions of it the latest one and previous kingroot versions. What happens is that when I try to root my phone it gets stuck on 16-18% then the kingroot app closes when I try to open it again it says it failed.

Root & TWRP for 20E

I spent a bunch of time last night helping my brother root his G3 and install custom recovery and Xposed. I wasted time trying root methods that didn't work because I didn't realize until after the fact that he was running a newer version of Lollipop than most tools were for. We installed Lollipop on his phone last night and rooted afterwards. Apparently the latest version for the Tmobile G3 is D85120E, aka 20E. Most guides and tools are written for 20B.
First, we rooted using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
It worked well and was easy (once we found it, that is). After that, we wanted to install TWRP so we could put Xposed on there, but I couldn't find any information about how to do that. I was looking to install aboot and all that other stuff but couldn't find it for this phone/version. Well, it turns out that you don't need any of that stuff because you can install TWRP unmodified. We came to Tmobile from Verizon a month or so ago where we both had G2s, so I was familiar with that process and the hoops needed to jump through on VZW. Turns out that the bootloader for the Tmobile G3 is unlocked, so it's unnecessary. All I did was install TWRP Manager from the play store and installed the latest version of TWRP with it. We got a warning about not being able to write to the sdcard, but I ignored that and it worked fine.
The only issue we had was a constant FC after installing Xposed that LG Smart Cover stopped working. This can be remedied by freezing that with Titanium Backup before installing Xposed. We didn't know that beforehand though, so I used ADB to delete it by deleting the folder at /system/priv-app/LGCover
Also, some weather program FC'd at boot (only once or twice per boot, not constantly like the LGCover program), so we froze that with Titanium. That could be deleted as well, if you prefer or don't have TB.
I hope this helps. It turns out it was easier than expected to root, TWRP and Xpose the latest LP on Tmobile, just had to know that Tmobile had a newer version of LP and that the bootloader is unlocked by default.
Thanks.

SM-T707A Root w/ Kingo, Switch to SuperSU on 4.4.2

*Updated 3/2017 to include same for LL updated SM-T707A*
For anyone else who has the SM-T707A (tab s 8.4" AT&T LTE version) -
Issues with this tablet:
1. Upgrading to Lollipop - seems that without an actual AT&T sim card installed, you're not going to be able to upgrade from 4.4.2 (cannot download the OTA update, and I haven't been able to find a download of the firmware online ANYWHERE).
2. Locked Bootloader - possible to carrier unlock for any compatible GMS carrier (I'm using mine with a T-mobile sim card), but seems that there is no way to unlock the bootloader/install a custom recovery.
(**NOTE: DO NOT TRY AND INSTALL TWRP OR USE THE UNLOCK/RECOVERY UTILITIES FOR THE SM-T705 ... while it seems like they would effectively be the same devices, both have exynos cpu and identical specs...I have tested out the odin-flashable methods from the development section that are for the SM-T705, and THESE WILL SOFT BRICK YOUR DEVICE. A HUGE ISSUE, SINCE THE STOCK FIRMWARE IS REALLY REALLY REALLY DIFFICULT TO FIND..)
SILVER LININGS:
1. Even if you have to stay on 4.4.2, you should be able to root with Kingo Root.
2. If you are rooted with Kingo on 4.4.2, and want to switch to SuperSU app instead of the KingoRoot one, you can try this (worked for me):
**Update 3/2017 - this will also work on LL updated SM-T707A
1. Install SuperSU app through google play store (regular install...NOT an update via recovery). This means you will now have TWO Superuser apps installed on your phone. Only the Kingo Superuser will have the authority to grant SU permissions at this point. Now open SuperSU and make sure it is installed. It should ask you to update the SU binary (you won't be able to yet, but make sure you get the prompt).
2. Download a terminal emulator app, or enable usb debugging in dev options, connect phone to pc, and open an adb shell.
3. Follow the instructions for switching to SuperSU available on android forums (search for "bakageta" +" supersu to kingo" +"android forums" ).
4. Download @bakageta's zip file and put on your sd card. Then open your terminal emulator or adb shell as root (type "su" + press enter) and run the first command: "# ./step0.sh" Remember to leave your terminal emulator open when you move on to the next step (same goes for your adb window).
5. Uninstall the Kingo Root apps (your tablet will then ~likely~ auto-reboot, closing the terminal emulator...DON'T PANIC, THIS IS OK.)
6. After your tablet boots back up, you should still have root**, but now your Superuser app will be SuperSU.
**UPDATE (3/2017, running the LL updated SM-T707A) If you are doing this on LL, you may need to also run the subsequent bakageta script, "# ./step1.sh" after the initial reboot to get SuperSU root access.
--> If anyone here knows how I can make a backup of the firmware I currently have installed (rooted stock 5.0.1) that can be used as a restore image via odin, please let me know! I'd gladly upload the file for anyone who is having trouble unbricking their devices, since the stock files are so insanely difficult to find for this particular variant of the tab s.
--Thanks to @Kingxteam
--Thanks to @bakageta for the alcatel scripts
see PM
chixvicious, did you ever managed to get those backups? I got a soft-bricked 707A and i also cant find the stock roms anywhere

Okay so I can confirm Galaxy Tab S 707a 8.4" LTE can be rooted in 4.4.2 with Kingo. It's goofy like kingo is , but it worked unfortunately that's not quite enough for myself as six axis never communicates w. Stock annnnd tmobile sucks and are being jerks can't use it without special plan so I'm putting my WiFi board back in. If any one wants rooted 4.4.2 unlocked motherboard......useless wasted tech here, all thanks to software restrictions.
updated for anyone else playing with these / whom it may concern if they ever google up this old ass device , I confirm on 4.4.2 707a I have successfully root with kingo and them using SUPERSUME apk I have swtiched it fully to SuperSU . Also using online nandroid backup with the 805 LTE variant patch I was able to get a full backup. I think I'm in decent shape for experimentation as I'm on the lowest order firmware and hopefully , not sure but hopefully if anything goes badly i can just update to newer firmware. Going to attempt using SAFESTRAP recovery next

I still have 2 of these and am constantly disappointed at how much development there is for every other variants but this one.
I got safestrap in , was able to reboot and see it but no luck due to se enforcing , I tried everything to get it to permissive but no luck. I went back to my WiFi model ha , oh well. Have to look for a 705 that has unlocked boot / better firmware
pm me if you still have that!

PM me if you still have that! I randomly have an extra (shattered screen) Tab S 8.4" without a motherboard, and would play around with trying to unlock the bootloader on it if I had a mobo to put in it!
Thanks!

I could help get this permissive on kitkat, but not LL or MM.

What are your thoughts ? It's def still kitkat , but I've tried init'd stuff and all sorts crap. If i got permissive i could possibly get safestrap to boot and then try out roms intended for the regular LTE variant. It is just kind of useless for me as T-mobile it's device Id as tablet so they lock it out then if i just wanted to use it WiFi the TouchWiz stuff kills remote controls like six axis and stuff. Id prob use it daily if i could get past device id pickups / safestrap a way into better rom
anyone have the 6.0.1 firmware?

rooting the G3

Been searching high and low to make this work. I have d855 running marshmallow but am in able to root it. Tried several one click ones that has failed (kingroot just ends saying root request and a number just under 30000). Kingoroot doesn't do anything. Iroot I've managed to get the cmd thing to work but not the rooting. Have left the phone with kingroot running to see if this request/adapting thing actually lowers.
Any ideas where I go wrong?
The marshmallow version on the phone may be too new and you may have to downgrade to an older version to root. Which version is currently installed?

6.0 I think the kingoroot page said it could handle it (marshmallow in general)
There are various version of MM so it's important to know the exact version of the phone. Apparently, kingroot can root some early releases of MM based on some threads I saw.
It's an d855 or is there another piece of info you mean?
Look under settings and software information. Marshmallow builds begin with 30x where x is a letter.

I have same problem
Kingroot is not work
V30e-AME-XX
If you can't find a root app that works, a ROM downgrade will be required.
Don't you need to be rooted to do that?
No, root is not needed to downgrade but you'll need to find the correct lollipop ROMs to flash.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64624324&postcount=2
Tried the first option on that thread but I only get update stopped due to an error.
Have tried to install twrp but having problems with adb. I thought the adb kit would be enough to make that work. Any idea what else to try?
Go in general thread and search for root marshmallow 30b that guide helped me root my g3 with kingroot. Tell if i helped
I found (I think) the thread you referred to but it seems to require that you have twrp installed. From reading the twrp website i got the impression you need to be rooted to install twrp? Have tried to load the image file from the SD card but can't find it when I reboot it. Not sure where I go wrong but I cannot get it to work.
You need to downgrade with LGflash tool to v30b and use latest kingroot 5.0. Then kingroot will root your phone and autorec file will flash twrp 2.8.0
Tried to do that (see post above) and it didn't work. No idea why.
Is this the thread we are talking about?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/root-twrp-marshmallow-d855-30b-t3286268
Yes and the one at the bottom of page one which tells you how to downgrade to lollipop. The downgrade does not work for me. It only tells me an error occured. The thread you refer to, I think you said you need to downgrade first and the root which I can't do as the downgrade failed.
Try flashing the file v30b from this video and then see if rooting with kingroot works.
Thanks. I'll try that later today.

Pls pls help me?? I bricked my LG g3 d855

pls can someone help me. I would really appreciate and honor you guys. let me tell you already what s my problem
I bricked my LG g3 d855, I bought it maybe 2 or 3 days
from now. and on my previous phone I rooted them
all without any issue and install custom ROM and
recovery which called (twrp or Cwm)
so this LG g3 with running 6.0mm frmwre I tried to root
using kingroot but it was failed bcoz of updated security patch and kigroot does not support that kid of version. so I searched for another method of rooting.
then I found some forum that has the rooting process for LG g3 which I followed his procedure.
then I downloaded the same os marshmallow but lower release date maybe. kingroot does not support marshmallow with v30c up so I downgrade my LG G3 to lower marshmallow version. which is v30b.zdk files.
so the downgrading process was successfully done and flashed through lg flash tools via donwload mode.
then here it comes . so after I downgradey new lg g3
kingroot finally worked, BUT after o rooted my phone. there's still steps to follow according on the forum.
so installed kingroot.
I had to download the following files like he said.
so I downloaded the LG root file.
note: I have root access via king root
then I put lg root files on my phone Internal storage.
then run the autorecovery file which is the twrp. via file explorer
then it booted and bang it says you can now boot into twrp received
but it boot and bang turn off and dead. no power no download mode no recovery no sign of light
I tried to detect it using qhsub Qualcomm or adb fastboot but I think I miss something. computer detects my device with it power off but driver s not installed successfully. pls pls help.
It happened to me 2 days ago.
Google for "Fix hardbrick LG G3". you're gonna find multiple guides showing that you have to create a short between 2 points on the MB.
It worked pretty well for me, my G3 is now working properly.
