OK, so please let me ask you couple of questions:
1.what rom you are using at the moment? 2. Did you try on another usb port on your PC?
3.did you try to restart your PC and try again to recognised it?
Regards.

Thanks for the reply.
My phone is not even rooted... Now, ive even tried updating it to the latest version:
android version 4.1.1 htc sense 4+
software number: 3.17.631.2
ive tried multiple PC's none work.
It could be hardware related. Return it for warranty if you can't get it to work.

Hello
I am an proud HTC Desire HD user, since an couple of months i have some strange problems with my USB connection. On my laptop it works always correct (filetransfer, adb and fastboot connection). Only on some computers (my work computer and home computer) it don't work. It's no driver problem because the computer doesn't see the phone at all..
I had an stock rom on it, only since a couple of days i am in love with CodeFireX custom rom! i am running now the night build from 02-19-2013. I don't have any other problems with my phone only the stupid usb thing!
Can anybody help me?

Do you have HTC Sync or the android SDK installed on both the laptop and your computer?
Hey Guys,
I have always connected my htc one v perfectly to my computer, but since I rooted my phone (yesterday), when I try to connect it, it only charges.
I have tried with USB debugging Off and with disinstalling HTC Sync, but it doesn't work...Do you know what I could be missing?
Thank you!
Hi Guys,
This is my first post but I've been a long time follower of XDA. Tried my hands at Rooting my Galaxy note earlier which was successfully done . So a couple of days back I bought HTC One X (a smuggled one with no warranty). First half of the day it ran smoothly while I downloaded a few apps from play store n updated a few but the second half when I tried to look onto the screen for some unread msgs, it did not respond. Black screen, no sign of charging, not able to attach to the pc, tried POWER+VOL DOWN but...nothing seems to be working. Please advice what can be done for this hard bricked phone. Sorry for a long post n if this thing has been discussed earlier. I am very desperate for my phone to start responding. Pls help. Thanks in advance

try to change the usb cable
Hey guys thanks for reading and hopefully we can get this problem solved. The problem is that my pc won't reconize my phone when I boot into hboot. I've been trying to return to stock since I'm returning the phone for a replacement but I cant because it doesn't show up.
I've tried
Different cables
restarting phone and pc
uninstalling and reinstalling
Different platform tools
Another thing is that when the phone is on and connected it shows up when I type adb devices but in the hboot screen i doesnt if you guys can help that would be great, Thanks

It's probably a driver problem. Download HTC Sync. Run it to install the drivers. Then uninstall HTC Sync. It doesn't play nice with ADB/fastboot.
