[Q] evo not recognized by computer

the other day i plugged my evo into my laptop and noticed the usb icon never came up and the computer never recognized the phone was plugged in, but the phone would charge. ive tried plugging my evo into another computer and the same thing happed. i think its a hardware issue, ive wiped and reflashed fresh 3.5 but the phone is still not recognized. has anyone had this issue?

you need to download drivers and get ADB installed so you can do other things.

ok how do i go about doing that? cause i had it working untill about 4 days ago.

you have to set up the htc drivers off of the htc website. Is your phone rooted?

Hmm thtas odd. bc you have to have htc sync working to get adb shell running to flash and root.. they released a new HTC driver a few hours ago.. let me see if I can dig it up.

[Q] One V to Computer / root problem

!!!!Before I tell you anything I couldn't find another thread like this!!!!
HTC One V (Virgin Mobile USA) - Unlocked Bootloader / Rooted
Had a system update, no longer rooted. Bootloader is still unlocked. But my problem is my phone won't realize that its plugged into a computer so I can't root it. It may or may not be my cord, it has a little damage done to it. Yesterday I finally got it to connect to my desktop, I was like yeah! Wen't to my laptop which had the files for rooting, and it wouldn't realize its in a computer. Now it won't do it to my desktop either. Tried rebooting didn't work. Thanks for the help.

Surely you have another cable you could try? Could also be a problem with the USB port of your machine, try using a different port, maybe one that isn't used much

[Q] Connection to PC after Root

Hey Guys,
I have always connected my htc one v perfectly to my computer, but since I rooted my phone (yesterday), when I try to connect it, it only charges.
I have tried with USB debugging Off and with disinstalling HTC Sync, but it doesn't work...Do you know what I could be missing?

have been on viper X since I got the hox 18 months ago
coinciding with an upgrade to v 4.0.0 my usb stopped working
it charges but will not connect to a pc
I am pretty certain the problem is not with the PC or the cable as
I have used clean installs of current htc sync
and my htc desire connects happily
I've been updating incrementally with viper from stock for a while and
have successfully flashed and reflashed kernels using fastboot from sdk
and Minimal ADB
so kernel is from full rom for v4.0.0 but ROM is 4.0.5
kernel was installed and reported successfully
since then hox will not connect to PC
in bootloader it goes into fastboot usb mode but also does this when plugged into a charger
the hox is in good condition generally although has had a few falls
it does suffer from overheating when used in the car with google maps
wifi is very weak and even when connected the data is very slow
data connection is unstable and cycles H 3G G and x although will hold still for a bit
all other functions seem fine and it has reasonable battery life
I appreciate that wifi and data connection could be attributable to modules and have reflashed from zip file
I've had help so far from viper crew but I don't believe it to be a ROM issue

Are you see your device in fastboot? If yes your USB working. Try to install viperx after full wipe everything except SD. Try other rom and see if the problem it's still there.
ARE you do full wipe when you go to viperX witch HBOOT version do you have?
Give us some information to have vision on to the problem.

fastboot does not recognize device.

We already gave our pointers in the viper thread, it looks also hardware related to me. If updated drivers, differrent usb ports, new (other) usb cables dont work.
When you plug the phone stated in the bootloader/fastboot menu to the pc does the pc recognizes anything at all ?
If the windows device manager says MYHTC it should go well.

Try on different PC if no change send it for repear it will be hordware problem like @Mr Hofs say. No fastboot = hardware problem
in bootloader it goes into fastboot usb mode but also does this when plugged into a charger ----- in this I think only the Tx from the device to computer is broken your device not send information to the computer and you go in fastboot becouse the Rx on the device is working and the device go in fastboot.

yes thats the stock sense 5 kernel

[Q] HTC ONE X Conection

Hi there
I have recently brought a HTC ONE X second hand from a friend,
Im using the latest OS on my macbook pro and im trying to connect my new HTC to my sync manager but not having much success,
I have tried all the usual still developers usb debugging etc but still says unable to connect anyone have any advice or help please?

does your macbook recognises the device? Maybe your usb cable or drivers are problem?

yes it says phone connected but nothing else
i can view music and photos but nothing more it says devise not found please reconnect phone yet when i try the home screen on sync manager it says phone connected loading data but nothing!!!
