I have a unrootable Amazon Fire TV and I used Llama to create a shortcut on the home screen. I noticed the other day that the thumnail pic that was in place of iKono TV app was gone, so i used the Amazon Fire Utility to put it back and and after a few minutes it again disappeared. How do i fix this. Thanks in advance

I have had success with ikono tv, but the minute I deregister and input another amazon account, the kodi icon is missing. The ikono tv icon is present and it works to open kodi but no kodi logo. Any help would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is suppose to happened.
Once you de-register and reregister back apps (ikono) download their own icons. You need to replace them again with Kodi icons and reboot every time when you deregister your unit.
I recently set up a unit with ikono tv to launch kodi and for some reason it seems like it launches kodi but then goes back to ikono tv. Or mabye it is closing kodi. Is this happening for anyone else or does anyone know how to fix this? I looked at the history in llama and it says ikono tv > spmc... I am using spmc version.

Maybe give this a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/themes-apps/app-aftv-launcher-helper-t3020515
I use launcher helper since quite some time and never looked back. This is by far the easiest way to launch into kodi without root access while still being able to use the AFTV launcher.
Unfortunately I can't comment on sacrificing apps, but if you just want an easier way to launch kodi/spmc there is an alternative you could consider which I've had no problems with (apart from after a software upgrade which had to be fixed using another guide):

I got it working it had something to do with the version right before the latest update... I updated and resolved it.
Hi All,
I picked up 2 Fire TVs and a Fire TV Stick this past week while in the US. I already have a Fire TV at home and it worked fine. Setup of the Fire TV Stick wasn't as seemless as it seemed that adbFire would get stuck in a loop and never install Kodi so I did it manually through adb.
I've only tried setting up one of the new Fire TVs and I can get Kodi installed and it runs without issues (14.2 - 2015-03-26) however after installing IkonoTV and linking it through Llama (1.2014.11.20.2330) it doesn't load from the Home screen. I've launched Llama and tried to "Test Actions" the screen flickers and goes back to Llama never loads Kodi.
Current software version for the Fire TV is 51.1.5.0_user_515012720.
Update:
I figured it out. I updated to 51.1.5.3_user_515040320 and it started working.
Hi,
I wonder if someone can answer a quick question for me. I currently have two Fire TV 1's and a Fire TV stick. All have the old Firestopper app installed where the home button continues to take you to the Firestarter interface, unlike the new version. They've all been blocked from firmware updates. My question is this. I need another FIre TV box and it looks like I'll be getting a 2nd generation Fire TV. Can someone tell me if the latest build on the Fire TV 2 continues to work with the old Firestopper app, as I was going to sideload it because it continues to be incredibly useful, but only with the home button function working. If the latest build for the Fire TV 2 prevents that, I'd rather know before buying one.
Thanks for any help provided.
Unfortunately, the firestopper app no longer works with the newer firmware, which is on at new model fire tv box or stick that u buy.
I found out, it does work, but it's not quite as useful anymore since double clicking on the home button brings up the app menu anyway, but you can still run firestarter, although it's kind of redundant as it just brings up another app menu. On the upside, it still does allow you to install Kodi without having to sideload it. Fortunately my older Fire devices still work with Firestarter and the new one I purchased, I realized it's not as crucial anymore.
Thanks for responding,
Im sorry if I missed this or it has been posted before but is there a way to manage fire tv sticks that are in different locations? My Mom and other relatives all have fire tv sticks with kodi that I gave them throughout the year and they don't know how to update kodi or manage builds. Is there a way I can do it myself from home without giving them links to youtube videos or long phone calls?
