[Q] Kodi icon not present after deregistering on amazon fire stick - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had success with ikono tv, but the minute I deregister and input another amazon account, the kodi icon is missing. The ikono tv icon is present and it works to open kodi but no kodi logo. Any help would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That is suppose to happened.
Once you de-register and reregister back apps (ikono) download their own icons. You need to replace them again with Kodi icons and reboot every time when you deregister your unit.

XBMC Shortcut

I have a unrootable Amazon Fire TV and I used Llama to create a shortcut on the home screen. I noticed the other day that the thumnail pic that was in place of iKono TV app was gone, so i used the Amazon Fire Utility to put it back and and after a few minutes it again disappeared. How do i fix this. Thanks in advance

Sacrificial app not working to launch kodi.

I recently set up a unit with ikono tv to launch kodi and for some reason it seems like it launches kodi but then goes back to ikono tv. Or mabye it is closing kodi. Is this happening for anyone else or does anyone know how to fix this? I looked at the history in llama and it says ikono tv > spmc... I am using spmc version.

Maybe give this a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/themes-apps/app-aftv-launcher-helper-t3020515
I use launcher helper since quite some time and never looked back. This is by far the easiest way to launch into kodi without root access while still being able to use the AFTV launcher.
Unfortunately I can't comment on sacrificing apps, but if you just want an easier way to launch kodi/spmc there is an alternative you could consider which I've had no problems with (apart from after a software upgrade which had to be fixed using another guide):

I got it working it had something to do with the version right before the latest update... I updated and resolved it.

Fire TV and Samsung UN65J6200AFXZA TV

It's my first post on here so go easy on me guys
I'm trying to mirror from my TV to my Amazon Fire TV as well as use WIFI-Direct. I've made sure they are both on the same network and the TV picks up the Fire TV. I select connect and it's sending a message to the Fire TV asking permission. After I've selected for it to be approved nothing happens and the Samsung TV in the living room (right on the other side of the wall from the Fire TV) just keeps trying to connect.
Any ideas? I've searched and searched to see what OS my TV is running and I can't find it anywhere, there are quite a few apps available so I'm not sure if its a custom version of Android or not.
I'd greatly appreciate any help or assistance anyone can give me. I've also noticed a network which is available called Direct-3F-FireTV-8b54 but have no idea of a default login or password.

kodi 16.0 no longer show on fire stick app screen. updated to new app? 15.2 was show

version 15 was showing but the new verison whcih i just pushed via adb has dissapeared? can anyone tell me a way of bringing it back to the homescreen
initially i remember getting the app from the amazon fire store
thanks
Have you downloaded kodi from Amazon when was available? If so go in your Amozon account and delete app then go to your fire TV Settings/My account/ deregister account, sign back in and the re-synk. BTW mine shows up and I am on v16
:good:I can confirm this method works fine

Update 5.2.1.0 - Kodi Icon no more?

Hi,
I have 2 Fire TV boxes (2nd generation) .. Previously setup everything up. I use Kodi for my movie library and like having the homepage icon. I was previously able to get the Kodi icon to appear in the recent area of the Amazon homepage by deregistering and registering (somestimes took 2-3 tries) but the icon would appear. Just received a 3rd box for my basement TV -- Its updated to v.5.2.1.0 and now I can't get the Kodi icon to appear. I'm using the same Amazon account I have always used on my other boxes with a working icon, tried deregister, register about 7 times, sync etc... Nothing. Anyone know if this feature was disabled by Amazon on the most recent update.
Thanks
