So, I have mine but its locked to T-Mobile, and would like it Unlocked. I have a RebelSim II Card, but cannot seem to get it to work, what is the best way to get it unlocked and where.
I've been looking for an unlock method too, might try htcsimunlock.com but the website hasn't been around for very long and it looks a bit shady

Give t mobile a ring they will give you a tracking number then you will know. It should be on a pre 1pm delivery

have you tried the official tmobile website? i know its £15 but i guess its 100% working and trusted service to get ur phone unlocked
Anyone have any luck at all, seems we might have to wait, im waiting on htccode, to see if they can, just waiting on my code now.
I failed with another ebay unlocker.
I'm currently waiting on htccode.
I initially went for the automated unlock (place order, download the TotalGSM client and request a code) but it didn't work.
I talked to the guy there over their live help on the website. He said that because its a new phone, it's probably not present on the database that the software checks against.
They do have a new database though (they got it today), so they promptly refunded my original request and I had to place a new order (paypal them 25Euros and the IMEI via email) and he said it will take 1-3 days to get the unlock code emailed to me.
Really good service and communication, I just hope they can get me the code!
Just thought i would post another mention for htccode.com, got my unlock code this morning and they were very informative and fast to reply via email.
25 Euros well spent considering nowhere else has them yet.

T-Mobile takes upto a month. HTC Code took a day.
If one needs to unlock and can't wait, it is an option, but if one needs it unlocked say in 2 months for their trip abroad, I don't see why use the services provided under this link... unless the price goes under £15...

T-mobile response about unlocking the desire is this.
You cannot request an unlock code <subsidy pin> for the first month you own the phone, after than you can request it and it takes upto 28 days to recieve that code.
So you are looking at 2months from now for the desire.

Odd, the chap at t-mobile I spoke to (0845 412 5000, though I think it's just the 150 equivalent number for landlines) just ordered the code for my new Desire, to arrive via snailmail in 14-28 days. Very pleasant about it too, which hasn't always been my experience with providers and SIM-unlocks.
Edit: ...though, I was already a t-mob customer, so I wonder if they only have a months delay for new customers, so they don't get scammed by folk with fake bank/cc details.

I have been a customer for 6 months, the lady told me it takes 1 month for our phones to go on the database, then I can apply for the code, anyway it's irrelevant now lol i have just gone to the above site and paid the 25 euros.
I had previously tried 2 other services and both of them said they can do it then couldnt, but these are saying they defo can do it. The other guys on ebay have both refunded my money so nothing lost there.

I used HTCCode last night, its 25EUR for new phones such as the Desire and I received my code today, working fine. Highly recommend them

Can confirm i just got my unlock code nextday from this company, very good support and live chat.
ridiculous that we have to pay for something that should be free!
FWIW T-mobile delivered me a working unlock code this morning, about two weeks after I requested it.

We had a customer successfully unlock the HTC Desire at MobileUnlocked.co.uk today and it cost them £16.50 (approx 19 euros)
The code takes between 5 and 30 minutes, although AOL and Hotmail users should be aware that the email with the code usually goes into their spam folder.

Could be a hold, I guess. The entry is "10/25 ATT K008 9969 BETHLEHEM PA $297.68". There's an identical entry for $1, which is the "is it valid" check. I remember at checkout there was a message to be sure the card had enough balance for the charge on the ship date, or the order would be canceled. That contradicts with the idea of them putting a hold.
Anyway .... something to talk about while waiting. Did anyone else get charged?

Yes, when checking out, it said a hold would be placed for the amount of the purchase. The phones will ship out starting on Nov 6 and the charge will go through and show up on your statement..

Min has the full amount as an authorization. Should fall off in a few days if I am correct.
mine got charged this morning too for the full amount but doesn't say anything about an authorization.
Mine got charged too because it was flagged as possible fraudulent activity, and Visa called me.
I even told the lady, they weren't supposed to charge me yet, but oh well.
Yeah the only think on my account were three 1 dollar charges.

It depends what kind of card - Usually debit cards get charged or a hold for full amount. Credit cards get a different deal, varies from bank to bank. If you don't have the funds. and its a check card or debit card, don't pre-order - it will not go through. Usually it drops back off in a 3-6 day period, then re-charged, over and over until it ships ( at least that's Best Buys MO. )

I don't have an upgrade until 2 days before release. I'm curious to see if actual charges start showing up on 11/5 (indicating shipping, of the order), instead of the reported shipping date, of 11/6.

They gave me a $25 discount, but I don't know why. So the $297.xx was what was left after adding sales tax and subtracting $25.

I am in disney on vacation, and I was going to go to a vzw store down the road for in store pickup, but because my billing address is in NJ, they wouldnt let me buy it. I said, screw you vzw, I'll wait a day and pay less. Also, amazon is still $200 unless you make a new line, so it's pretty much all the same. Now all I need to get is the squaretrade warranty for $99 on amazon tomorrow and I'm set!

I did it last night and selected in-store pick up. Then, I learn of this promo code this morning. I called VZW customer service and they told me I'd have to try to apply the coupon in store.
I asked if I can just cancel the order and I'd redo it but apparently I have to cancel in-store too. Makes no sense to me but I'll find out in 40 mins when the store opens.

My local vzw was beyond rude to me on the phone when i called for info on the stock of the phone, I'm trying to get them to waive the upgrade fee or something.

Good luck with that. That fee is a tough one...I've yet to hear of anyone getting it waived.

Cancelling the order over the phone now with the store since they can't add the promo code. They aren't sure if they can cancel it though; as per VZW's site, the order automatically cancels if you don't pick it up within 4 days. Hoping I don't need to go that route.
Also, no-go on that coupon for full retail at the store.
EDIT: Nope, they can't cancel. Have to wait four days. Time is money, and I'll just eat the $50. An hour of overtime will cover that!
I was able to select instore pickup and use the code.

I had used the code successfully online and selected in-store pick-up, but when I got there, the code didn't come up in their system!
Fortunately, I had taken a print-out with me (showing the discounted price) and when they asked where I'd found the code, I pulled up this thread in our forum)) to show them, so they were very nice about it and honored it. [Again, YMMV.]
I was polite throughout (which I'm sure helped) and then thanked them several times.

Same thing happened to me. I don't think those codes work for in store pickup. Had to do the shipping route. Not sure why.

Hm, I just placed an in store pickup right now and the code worked for me. I live in CA if that has to do with anything?
Dont forget that the Bose headphones offer has opened for early orders. Takes a few minutes to fill in and I then got a confirmation/approval message about 5 minutes later.
Expect Bose prices on ebay to plummet! I am still using the QC35 II that I got with my last phone and see no need to upgrade.
I'm still waiting for approval, 2 days later...

I bought mine from the Google Store UK. All the proof i needed was screenshot from there. didn't need bank statements etc. i did a screen grab of the order/delivery page.

That's exactly what I did. I provided the order number from Google Store UK, a screenshot from Google Store UK order and a screenshot from my credit provider showing the date, amount, company and transaction ID yet if I check my claim it's made no progress.

On the tracker mine now says claim approved - delivery within 60 days
As a proof I used an email from google that my order has been delivered. I printed this to pdf file and uploaded. It was ok.
I just uploaded a screenshot of the order page from the Google Store and a screenshot of the IMEI number as requested.
I got confirmation of the claim @18:25 and confirmation of approval @ 20:59 yesterday.
Approval was pretty much instantaneous for me just now. I enclosed a PDF of order confirmation from CPW plus a bank statement cropped image showing the bank web address and payment. And the mandatory IMEI number.

This is just odd. Some people here have to wait for days, whilst others (like you and me) get an instantaneous approval (no way this is done by human interaction; I didn't even have to wait for more than a minute). I guess it's an algorithm here that's not functioning properly. I am sorta curious if we will even get our products, or this botched algorithm will lead to more approvals than they have product stock.
Got my claim confirmed this morning, headphones will be sent within 60days.

Well maybe it is an algorithm taking data from a range of sources in addition to the stuff we present. This is the 2nd Google claim for me; two years ago my Pixel 4 XL gave me an HP laptop that got sold on eBay.
