Uninstall the app and perform a factory data reset

I can't uninstall the app as it is a system app,all I can do is delete the su binary and superuser apk on root explorer, but after a reboot it will be on my app list again.

[GUIDE] Return your European M8 to 100% Stock Point 5 in that thread has a link to the "unsupersu" .zip file. Download that, flash it and see if supersu is removed.

Rooting doesn't prevent the use of any apps. Also are you talking about unrooting or returning to stock, S-on, relock, unroot, stock recovery?
If you have super su installed you can unroot from within the app.

Rooting does prevent use of some apps, perfect example would perhaps be Barclays Bank app.
Why is that, security feature? Never had an issue myself.

Yeah, it's one or other security feature, if it picks up the device is rooted it doesn't allow you do log on and do banking. Something like Root Cloak doesn't really do the job anymore either, kinda mixed results from the hiding root apps, that I've seen.
Barclays Pingit
Oh well, I moved on from it...done and dusted. Don't do banking with devices anymore as a whole now so.
Just wanted to use Barclays as an example of an app that doesn't work when you're rooted. :good:
I just want to unroot so I can get access to sky go banking app ect and help would would be really great

Just open the root program(I assume it's SuperSU? ) go to settings, scroll down and tap "Full unroot". That's it.
I don't know where the CID talks came from though, did you change your CID? If you did then you should already know how to change it back to the original CID it was.
There's nothing more to it
Or did you go and flash a different ROM etc? Then it's not just "unroot" but something entirely different, need more details then. Ashyx asked this hours ago already...
I changed my cid to a supercid but my original one is VODAP001 I have the viper one ruu install so supersu will not let me unroot

Use your Stock back up or if you don't have one, grab one from the back up collection thread, then follow @EddyOS's guide to get back to stock properly which you can find here.

apps installed on the system partition have access to root without the need of SU to control it. When you install an app like superSU you now give that APK control of any request of root rights. When phone asked for root it didnt know that you have an app that is now handling the request and thats why you were notified.

Oh n Santod, I'm on 1 of your stock rooted odexed roms, I noticed SuperSu isn't installed as system app when I look in the settings in SuperSu, is it better to leave it as a user app, or go ahead with the install as system app??

Flashback?

I think I need to do a Flashback on my Tablet so I can truly root it. I've tried a few ways to root it and all have failed. SuperUser won't open at all. Tried to Towelroot, even tried Stump Root and Stump says the device is already rooted, but I know it's not...
Just noticed I posted this in the wrong forum.

Got CWM into come up, but can't find the SU Zip file... So I just did the reboot from CWM... Now all it does is run a bit slower. SU trys to open, but stats Binary issues. Nothing changed, but slower device now.

When I got CWM opened I did a System wipe factory reset.
Then tried to use towelroot again... Didn't work...
Every link I found to SU was to the google play store... not a Zip folder...

Ok was able to run the SU Zip through CWM and had it rebooted after it was completed. Once it was on. I looked around on the Tablet and SU isn't installed. Running Root Checker Pro and it says the Devices appears to be running very Slow... Been on this screen for a few mins already.
Edit: Went back into CWM and Re-Booted... When I clicked on it a new page loaded and had an option to Fix Root... Choose it and Re-booted.
Downloaded SU from Google Play and it worked now... HUGE THANKS....
Well Crap... Says it's rooted. Xmod is getting Permission from Super User.. Mod installed in the Game... launch from xMod and the Game Crashes.
Ok opened SU and it triggered KNOX... Clicked to let SU to try and disable KNOX.... Been on that Screen for 5min so far...I also get a Security Notice Stating Unauthorized access to a secured area has been blocked.
..........................................................................
Unistalled SU and Restalled it. Let SU try and Fix KNOX again... Fixed it in just a Few Seconds.
Wroking 100% Now. The last issue was with XMod not the root.
BIG THANKS

[Q] Need help, temp rooted phone.

I rooted my phone and it is temporary only since if I boot my phone, it will be back to normal until I start the root again from the WeakSauce2 app. I am new to rooting so please help me out! I pretty much don't know what to do with this temp root besides downloading rooted apps in play store.
If I were to fully root my phone and do the process, would there be any way to save my files before it wipes my phone?

Sunshine doesn't wipe. You run it and get s-off. Then flash twrp and make a backup.

Can I jump in on this subject. I'm new to the vzw m7 and I been doing some research and decided to root my phone using Weak Sauce 2 . So I downloaded sauce it said root activated then I downloaded Supersu opened supersu up get message says:The SU Binary needs to be updated.Continue? Then I press continue of course, error: installation failed please reboot and try again.I have rebooted countless times to no avail:beer:
So I go to Root Checker to check status and wow it says Congratulations! This device has root access? Htc6500LVW 4.4.3 I can install root apps like TB,Root Explorer,Etc and It grants permission. What is going on with this what am I missing .I'm try to hold off on sunshine for now because I just spent my allowance on this phone..Thanks in advance.

You are temp rooted. That's it. Can't update binaries because you can't flash anything and because system write protection is still on. You need to s-off as soon as you can of you want to disable system write protection and be able to update binaries, flash a custom recovery and flash a custom Rom.

Root problems

Hello.
Some days ago i've rooted my motorola using kingroot. After reboot the root dissapeared and i decided to repmace kingroot and kinguser with Supersu. Supersu updated the binary and asked to reboot, but right now my pho'e won't boot up anymore! If i press power button, the bootloader message just stays there. I've waited 4 ours and than i decided to turn him of. Any help?[emoji120]
Can you get into recovery?
Yes, but when i install supersu with twrp the same problem is there. Starts up and freezes on the bootloader message.
Did you try to factory reset it?
Factory reset isn't solving the problem. Still that dumb message. Help!!!
The only way i can acces my phone is with replacing all the system.spareschunk_(numberhere) to the stocks using fastboot. But when supersu (automatically!!!) updated the binary, my phone just freezes again on bootloader message. Please tell me how to stop this freeze! I want root!
[Edit]: my phone is moto g 3 xt1541 europe 8gb running android 6.0
Found it on xda :
Previous methods to root Android 6.0 required a SELinux policy patch in the kernel, without which, the device would not boot.
