The fact you're seeing your T-mobile boot animation tells me your flash failed.
Make sure you're on the latest recovery. If you use an older one, the flash will fail, resulting in all kinds of errors.
Flash the latest TWRP and reboot into your new recovery. Wipe and flash your new rom, followed by gapps.

My galaxy nexus started rebooting 5-10 times a day about two weeks ago and then suddenly stocked on google logo and never booted. It was stock 4.0.2 with no root and recovery and unlock. the phone goes into fastboot and downloading mode, but It doesn't even boot into recovery, and when you choose the recovery through fastboot, It gets stuck on the google logo again!
I flashed the IMM76D for yakju through odin in downloading mode using chainfire's files in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586807.
Odin shows everything is going fine and flashes the tar file , but again when the phone is trying to reboot it gets stuck on google logo.
then I tried flashing the ICL53F factory image through fastboot using fastboot command, I downloaded the file from the google site here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images , extract it with 7zip and flashed the bootlaoder. radio. and zip file through fastboot, again everything went fine both on the phone and fastboot window, but again while rebootin got stuck on the google logo!
I'm no new to android and samsung devices and flashing process on them, it's more than two years and had phones like moto milestone, sgs, sgs2, Nexus s, and flashing rom on them is one of my habits. I also used to solve my friend's problems with their phones and flash custom roms for them.
it's the first time I see a samsung device doesn't boot after flashing through odin , and the first time a google device doesn't boot after flashing through fastboot went OK!
I'm really out of ideas here and any help is so appreciated
PS: also I dont know if I should post this matter here in Q&A or in development section? so may the admin help me here

its stock JB rom flashed it over with galaxy nexus toolkit and downloaded the rom from google's site so its not a zip flashable
thanks all for replys and sorry for thw wrong section
im not sure but i remember on my g2x you could hook up phone from recovery mode and mount it on the computer with sd card .. have you looked around in CWM? This is your fault to be honest you deserve this for not making a NAND back up. ALWAys MAKE A BACK UP! period. There is a reason why devs and everyone else stress' it so much.
Sert00 is right. Flash any [previously] working ROM on it. It will be a dirty flash and some stuff won't work, but you'll be able to backup your data. You'll reflash again later

Unfortunately, at least with these beta realeases of JB, usb mount via recovery almost never work.
Try what sert00 told you.

Is your phone still boot looping? Can you stay in recovery mode or does it reboot again while you're in there? If so, you might have a sticky power button. Go here for the solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931310
I literally just fixed my dad's s2 that was bootlooping. I'm on mobile right now, so sorry for not providing links, but I had to use odin to revert totally back to stock, then reroot. Hope this helps. I do have the files I used on his computer, lmk if you need.

I just rooted my new Tab today thanks to the helpful and complete instruction from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674649
(3/10/2014) and it works beautifully and is very easy, The step by step instructions and detailed videos made this the easiest root I"ve ever done (which would make all of 2 now). It took all of about 10 min, excluding the hour or so I spent carefully rereading the procedure and watching the videos.
Thank you so much! I have root again!!!
Regarding a boot loop problem mentioned in another thread (I am not able to post in development threads yet so hopefully the author will see this)
I had the same thing happen to mine after installing cwm and rooting then attempting to create backups. I think it was the way I tried to boot into cwm, didn't wait long enough perhaps.
Anyway, I wound up flashing the stock firmware again, using Odin, then redoing the cwm install and rooting again. It worked like a charm for me.

I just had to do the whole process over again because my tab would keep dropping wifi (a common Samsung issue) I did a factory reset, forgetting the stock recovery was not on it any longer. It went right into the cwm bootloop again. I reflashed the stock firmware that I got from honai of androids blog in a link, using Odin.
Then reflashed the cwm, and rerooted. All is working again.

Booting straight into recovery
I'm having the same issue as some on this forum. I have searched and searched but cannot find stock firmware. The" honai of androids" lead was a dead end. Link appears to be broken. Can someone point me in the right direction? Samsung Galaxy tab3 7.0 lite.

I thought I'd posted the link to the stock firmware,
oops I cant post links yet, just google honai of android blogspot how to date galaxy tab 3 lite
It is a very slow d/l hosted by one of those "pay for fast download" sites. But the free d/l link works fine and it is the proper firmware, samsung sees it as official.
CAUTION: When rerooting, (Notice I didn't say if, I'm assuming anyone would naturally want to have root), when you boot into CWM, it takes a long time. I didn't wait long enough the first time I did it, and I think that may have something to do with the bootloop issue. I am going to install quickboot and try that.
Follow along with the detailed information and videos that were so well done by xda members. Ive done the whole process about 4 times now (when you do that first boot after flashing CWM, be sure and boot into recovery (again follow the video if you have any questions. The one on youtube posted by root junky, ots excellent.
What if the bootloop does not even allow me to get into recovery or download mode?
Any solutions?

I posted the files that you need to root and reset the custom binary counter.
1. Flash the Stock ROM
2. Install the OTA Updates. (NOTE= Don't install it later, it will bootloop in CWM.)
3. Flash CWM in Odin and then flash the SuperSU ZIP.
4. Flash Stock RECOVERY. (IMPORTANT)
5. Download Rashr and flash CWM image file.
6. Done!
Also don't press to boot in recovery mode. It will bootloop, duh.
All of the files are here: bit.ly/sm-t110-root
Hi guys. Brand new to this whole rooting thing. Long story short, I rooted my device (Galaxy S3 sgh-t999) a while back and was just living off stock touchwiz just with all the bloatware deleted. I had the most recent version of TWRP installed and my recovery was based on that. I then downgraded TWRP to 2.3.3.0. It asked me to reboot and I did so. Now I'm stuck at the Samsung logo screen but it doesn't get past that. The device seems to boots up, but the moment the little Samsung jingle starts to play (you know the swirly blue mist that encompasses the Samsung logo), it stops in the middle of the jingle and the phone won't get passed it.
I tried rebooting back into TWRP via up, home, power and was able to get into TWRP recovery good enough, I can access everything in the menu and tried wiping dalvik, cache, factory reset and system and restored from my backup, but upon trying to restore from my custom backup, it just stalls on the Samsung logo screen. Any ideas if this is fixable? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum guys.
Also, I should make mention that whenever I try to hard power off my phone by holding down the power button, it turns off for a moment then boots back on again. I actually have to remove the battery in order for the phone to turn off. Don't know if that helps.
That's normal when you hold the power button down. It's a hard reset so it's supposed to boot back up.
As for your other issues, why did you downgrade twrp? If your backup was made with another version I suggest using the same to restore it.
Most of the time a factory reset will fix this type of problem, but it sounds like we are beyond that now. If the restore and another reset don't work, go to my firmware thread (sticky in development) and download the same or newer firmware as what you had before. Flash via Odin and factory reset from the stock recovery. ( This will wipe the internal sd)
That should get you going again.
For the future, please do not ever manually wipe /system. You could end up with no O/S to boot into and a hell of a headache! There is simply no benefit to doing so. Only risk.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Good luck!

I downgraded TWRP because I was having issues flashing a new ROM. Every ROM I tried flashing came up with an error and people said they were most successful with 2.3.3.0 so I tried it out. I suspected it might have screwed something up but stupid me always has to be sure. I would try and re-use an upgraded TWRP version if possible but I don't think I can access that from the TWRP menu itself and that's just about the only function my phone has at this point. Just booting into TWRP and playing around with the menu.
Do you have a link to your thread? Thanks for the time by the way.
The link should be in my sig. But it's stickied at the top of the development section. Can't miss it.
If you go to twrp's Web page you can download a newer one in .zip format and flash from your current version.
Or get the .tar.md5 one and flash from Odin.
In the newer versions you can actually flash the .img file itself. After choosing install and are browsing for the file, look for a button to use the .img.
I don't believe this is available in the older ones though.

Yup! It was really a simple matter of updating TWRP via Odin. I don't know why it never crossed my mind to use it. Maybe I'll have more luck using different ROMs through Odin instead of TWRP as well.
Odin is really only just for flashing full firmware for updates and returning to stock, and for flashing recovery. Pretty much everything else (all custom roms, for example) is meant to be flashed in a custom recovery like twrp. If you're ever unsure, reread the op of whatever you're flashing, and if your answer isn't there feel free to ask about it.
In a nutshell: Odin only flashes .tar and .tar.md5 files. Recovery flashes .zip.
I do highly recommend an app called Mobile Odin by chainfire. Search xda for his thread and make sure you read all the info if you're interested. It can make flashing super easy!

I am having a similar issue. I have never modified any of the original specs and this is a new issue as of 48 hours ago. In short, my device was on, auto shutdown and then froze on the Galaxy S3 load screen. Attempts to boot in recovery, safe, and soft/hard reset have not worked. I can access Odin mode. After reading the above thread I went to the link you suggested and went directly to the firmware my SGH-T999 started with(T999UVDLJA) and worked my way up the list to see if any of them would take. Unfortunately none achieved a 'PASS' via Odin. So, my question is, what do you do when all the steps have been followed and the firmware doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What error are you getting in Odin?
Do you see anything about warranty bit on the download screen? If you are, the flash is probably failing because you are trying to flash old firmware over new firmware. I suggest flashing the latest firmware for your T999 from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-T999/
