yesterday i was in the franco kernel updater app and i saw a new nightly to i wanted to flash it but by mistake i looks like flashed milstone version so the device got root access to restart the device and flash the kernel
but the device rebooted to stuck at Google logo for 15min so i pulled out the battery re-insert it and press the power button and nothing happens still stuck at Google logo with no boot loop or restarting it self
i can get to CWM and fastboot but when i start the device its stuck at that :crying:
my phone is on that way since yesterday and i cant leave it like this for longer time since iam travailing nor can i wipe every thing on it and get a fresh start cuz i do have important things on the sdcard
plz help
i do believe its a kernel related issue but what can i do ?? i cant push a .zip kernel to flash it in CWM

what rom zip files do you have on your sdcard.

tried flashing a boot.img via fastboot?standard or from another dev's kernel not in AK format (zimage)
or
tried flash another rom that you have zip inside phone?if you dirty flash, you simple don't loose anything..and the boot.img it's reflashed.

im not sure but i remember on my g2x you could hook up phone from recovery mode and mount it on the computer with sd card .. have you looked around in CWM? This is your fault to be honest you deserve this for not making a NAND back up. ALWAys MAKE A BACK UP! period. There is a reason why devs and everyone else stress' it so much.
Sert00 is right. Flash any [previously] working ROM on it. It will be a dirty flash and some stuff won't work, but you'll be able to backup your data. You'll reflash again later

Unfortunately, at least with these beta realeases of JB, usb mount via recovery almost never work.

Did you try to instal it again? Do it if not
And the last one, did you flash the boot.img ?
no i didnt make a backup and no i didnt have the boot.img file at the time

You dnt have to do that over the CWM, you do that over the fastboot comand: "fastboot flash boot boot.img"

You dnt put the boot.img on your phone, you put that file in the fastboot folder on your PC .
I think the kernel is incompatible. If that's not the case then the rom is at fault. It is after all... still in testing. So I recommend a 1 click install from Odin. I had worst before where it wouldn't let me even boot into recovery and the one clicker saved me

Did you look into the zip file ? Maybe you first had to extract it and then pic the right zip ? Open the zip on your PC and tell me the first 2 files you see there ...
dude, go here and get the test recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
then get a different rom boot into recovery & connect your usb cord. when htc storage pops up on your pc put the new rom on your storage. flash it then boot to bootloader and flash its boot.img . this time check the md5 sum before you flash. the one you have now probably didn't download correctly.
what do u mean by md5?
i have given up with this cm9 crap already, i tryed trip version of cm9 but nothing with work as in no bluetooth no wifi no web broswer would work and even sound thats why i finally wanted to try this version over here at xda and now i cant seem to get any rom to work lol

md5 is a checksum to validate downloading wen't correctly. You might want to take a few min to calm down and do some reading on what your actually doing before messing with a $700 phone There are even threads here that show you how to flash roms correctly, How to recover from bad flashes etc. I'm not trying to be a ****, but Seriously there are 400 threads identical to this one & every one of them ends the same way. Plz follow the instructions given to you earlier & push the test recovery so you can mount your usb drive. then flash a different Rom, any rom. & you will be ok. Just don't freak out, I think we've all been in this position before. But there is always a way to recover.
i managed to flash trips version of cm9 back on it bit its really unstable and so many features dont work, so how should i go about installing either this cm9 version or another custom rom?
also whats the best rom available atm? i kinda prefere stock ics look but open minded as i just want all features working rather than caring about looks
Alright this is extremely complicated to explain so bear with me.
Somethings to explain first:
- I have an HTC One V CDMA VM USA phone
- I have tried this multiple times
Okay first off, I've unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone (SuperSU). I decided to flash ClockWork Mod as my recovery. So I boot my phone in recovery and flash the AOKP rom. I make a nandroid backup. I then wipe everything (cache, delvik, data). I flash rom then gapps. I flashed JellyBoot5.zip to make sure my kernel files are correct (I'm using AOKP stable build Oct 17 2012). I then boot into bootloader and flash the boot.img "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
It would continually run in "Initiating Swagger" - so I tried to delete and reflash again. Only this time I am stuck in a complete boot loop. It would say "Initiating Swagger" then load up the start up screen, stutter for 2 seconds, move again, freeze, reboot. It is stuck in this process again and again and again. I flashed the correct kernel according to the author of AOKP.
This isn't my first time doing this. I have already unlocked the bootloader two previous times (I used RUU on my device twice already just to get it back to stock.
Here's the freaking kicker though, when i restored my back up it did the exact same thing on stock rom as it did the AOKP rom. This makes me seem there isn't a corrupted download or anything like that but wow is this starting to get on my nervous. I need extreme help. I've looked everywhere on the internet and nothing came up. I even used Jellyboot5 and which
What the heck is it? Is it a performance issue, or a SuperSU position. Or could it be something with the kernel?
I've yet to hear the right suggestion so I'm all ears.
Ok u need to flash a diff kernel
Problem solved
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
first thing first, don't restore all your data from sense roms until you boot up the rom for the first time.
second thing, after you boot up into the rom, go to Settings - Performance and lower down the maximum overclock to a respectable position (1024).
do this and keep me in the loop. i will be glad to help you further,
Which boot.img are you flashing with fastboot? You need to open the kernel zip file with 7zip, copy the boot.img to your fastboot folder, flash the Rom, flash gapps, flash the kernel zip all in recovery. Then reboot into bootloader, and flash the boot.img using fastboot. I have used jellyboot5 and sickkernel V2 successfully with AOKP.

You don't? So if Jellyboot5 is in a zip, I just extract the boot.img, but I don't flash the actual zip, correct? I've flashed a different kernel but no luck.
Could you give me maybe some exact directions to using the AOKP rom, I used the ones on his post but for me they aren't detailed enough. I will hit thanks for sure
I'll let you know if this works later on. I can't do anything till tonight because I'm at school right now.

oh, ok, sorry for my ignorance. i thought he is flashing the whole boot.img from recovery (if it is in a zip format).so you need to flash boot.img through fastboot, go to recovery, full wipe everything (system, data, cache partition), flash your rom and after that flash the jellyboot.zip that has the needed files. reboot and if you did everything correctly, it SHOULD work!
Hello
I unlocked my bootloader and tried to root my phone but now it is stuck in a boot loop.
I have clockwork mod recovery installed 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.4.0-endeavoru.img' and have tried wiping cache, data and dvlik etc but no joy.
I have superSU on SDcard but clockwork doesnt see it.
i have heard about flashing boot.img but dont know where to start.
my phone is HTC One X UK Vodafone. It had 4.0.3. It boots to the wallpaper but then restarts.
Can any help a noob?
Cheers :silly:
What have you done to it so far? Sounds like you unlocked it and flashed clockworkmod, which can't cause the problems you're describing.
Have you done anything else?
Do you just want to root your stock ROM or install a custom ROM?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
You need to get a rom.zip, hopefully you created a nandroid for your stock rom? I hope so...if not WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY? You've made your life a little more difficult now.
Get a rom.zip of your choice, unzip it on your computer, you will see a boot.img, copy that to your fastboot folder (mine is C:/Android). Now make sure you have copied the rom.zip (zipped up again) onto your device.
Enter fastboot (power off, power on holding vol- down) Click fastboot
Open on your windows PC (assuming thats what you have)
CMD (command prompt and type the following)
cd c:/android
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
Now go into recovery, flash from sd card, choose your rom.zip
voila, SLOW START UP FOR FIRST BOOT.

Hey Lady Android!
strangely enough when my phone powered down after running out of juice overnight it has booted fine. and now i have just successfully installed titanium backup.
not sure why it was bootlooping though.
thing is, now i don't have any service. not sure what is going on with that.
now the the rom is working i would like to flash a decent ROM.
Can anyone suggest a good source for downloading them?

I tried installing a custom rom today and I think I messed up really bad, because my phone does not get pass the boot screen and I cannot enter the recovery setting. I think I messed up after entering
fastboot flash boot boot.img
in the command prompt and restarting because I forgot to put the rom zip on my phone. Since then I could not get pass the boot screen and even tried running a backup using CWM, but it didn't help. I then managed to mount my phone and put the rom onto it and installed it, but again it didn't help.
Now my phone can only enter the bootloader, I select hboot and fastboot, but nothing else works. Everytime I select recovery or factory reset I get the htc boot screen and it gets stuck. Does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks
did u backup your phone rom???
if you did u can go to recovery and restore it
and never try to change rom again trust me in that
otherwise i can't help bcuz i did the same mistake
I did make a backup, but like I said I can't enter recovery anymore, so I can't load the backup.
Thanks for trying to help anyway though.

What HBOOT version do you have and what custom ROM are you trying to install?
edit: you didn't need to restart after changing boot.img cause in Recovery you can just go Advanced and then mount USB and copy the ROM or whatever files you want that way.

I have hboot 1.39.0000 and I was trying to install the latest cyanogenmod cm-10-20130106-NIGHTLY-endeavoru.
Yeah I realized this after I restarted and did it get the zip onto the phone. I think I installed it, but the phone is still stuck on the boot screen
UPDATE: Okay I've managed to install CWM recovery, so I think I'm making progress
You had to flash CWM again? Odd..
Anyway, if you happen to encounter the same problem with CM10 I suggest you try some other custom ROM.. Just make sure you "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and then "fastboot erase cache", and if for some reason you decide to format the sdcard or simply forget to add in the ROM zip, you can do it in Recovery when you mount the device as USB under Advanced options. Best of luck!

Okay, I've tried installing a few roms, but unfortunately I'm still on the boot screen, I can sometimes even reach the cyanogenmod boot screen, but get stuck there. I've read that this might be kernel issue, does anyone have any ideas?

Ok, so..my Girlfriend tried to root the phone herself and i think something went wrong...actually i know something went wrong..when i load up the Bootloader it gives me a few NO IMAGE found things on the SD card....but the real issue arises when i try to load a ROM onto the phone it will function for like 5 maybe 6 mintues then restart.
I tried to restore the phone to before roms were attempted to be installed on it, and the phone just hangs on the HTC screen and doesn't move.
I've tried installing Different Kernels using the whole fastboot flash boot boot.img method and none of the kernels i install seem to help..
I'm not 100% familiar with this phone since i myself use a S2 Skyrocket..
So my real question is..is there any way to get this phone back to square one so i can reinstall HBoot or whatever its called, or is there a way from where i'm at to stop this phone from constantly rebooting itself?
i don't think because there is no way to reinstall Hboot , only it can be done by HTC service centre but i will advice you to root it again from beginning , if your bootloader is already unlocked then try to root HOV , and after rooting i will suggest you to use PA rom with cm10 hellboy kernel
The no image thing is normal.not to worry.
Which Rom did you try to install?
Edit:is the phone gsm or cdma?

I was trying to install that one "Pacman"
It gets about to the point where she would enter her information for account sync and then it would just reboot.
and the phone is CDMA through Virgin Mobile
And about the CM10 thing, i was reading that CM10 doesn't work with the camera, and she needs the camera for work to send pics to her other managers
Ok,your phone is completely normal.
Now,do this in order
Put Rom and gapps in sdcard
Put the kernel in fastboot/platform-tools folder
Boot into bootloader and select fastboot.
flash kernel using the command you described in OP
Enter recovery.do a full wipe,i.e,factory reset,wipe cache,wipe.dalvik cache.also,go into mounts and storage and format every partition,except sdcard.
Then flash the Rom.zip, boot into Rom and then again into recovery and flash gapps.

Ok doing that now, Do i format the/sd-ext? or just leave that alone with the sdcard
sd-ext format isn't supported so you may as well leave it.and, use the boot.img inside the zip, that is the supersick kernel.

ok rom flashed...do i want to install Gapps now? or let the phone boot all the way first into the rom before restarting it and going back into recovery?
Boot into Rom,wait for 5mins and then flash gapps.

Did you download and flash the gsm rom by mistake?
Are you using the proper command to flash the boot.img?i.e,
fastboot flash boot boot.img

i grabbed it right off that link i posted earlier..I'll try Redownloading the ROM and then starting over again..maybe something happened in the download process or the transfer process..heh i'm not going to bed till i fix this issue lol since the phone for her right now is virtually unusable
You said in OP that you have a backup right?restore it first.and flash the boot.img found inside the backup.
Let's see what happens.it should boot normal.

That was an issue, i tried to restore the backup but it hangs at the HTC screen shortly after the Virgin Mobile and doesn't move..ever i let it sit for a long while and nothing happend
You have to flash the kernel first!only then will it boot.
Go into fastboot, flash the kernel found inside the backup and then restore it.
