How do i change the smsc number on the Verizon Note 4? I'm using a Verizon Note 4 in central america. Everything works fine except for the fact that i can't send text messages. I've read other threads about this and i believe i have to change the smsc number to the one my carriers uses, but i can't access secret codes or hidden features on verizon note 4 to change it. Does anyone know a way through this?

I'm using Non-ATT stock ROM. It was working with ATT original ROM.
Anybody has the same problem? or know how to fix it?
I had this and called AT&T and they fixed it.... I went from Iphone to the tilt 2 and I think they still had it as Visual voicemail and they needed to reset it.
Go into phone options, then click around until you see TTY, voicemail and tex, call forwarding, etc. Highlight voicemail and text and click get, etc.
It will connect to ATT and pop up the numbers. You then enter in the correct number.
To get the correc #, you need to call ATT or check a few peoples phone that is in your city, and with ATT and see what they have.
^ good call tatung70, thanks.
MMS, data, voice all work fine. I can receive SMS. SMS was working before. This problem occurred after I flashed a custom ROM and then restored the backup from CWM. My Nexus is on Straight Talk using stock rooted ROM.

Try changing the SMSC (SMS Centre) number.
You need to dial
*#*#4636#*#*
and select the first option.
Telekom (GER) offers a service to setup everything for you.
Had the same issue before.

How do I find/ what is my smsc number?

Getting the real SMSC for android is a bit tricky
1.) Find the SMS centre number of your carrier (e.g. for t-mobile DE -> +49 171 076 0000)
2.) go to http://twit88.com/home/utility/sms-pdu-encode-decode
3.) Enter the SMS centre number in the field "SMSC" and clear receiver and the message "How are you?"
4.) Click on "Convert"
5.) On the right side you'll see something like (in my example)
0791947101670000110000910000AA00
the first two digits show you the length. (7)
6.) 7x2+2 = 16 (+2 cause of the length needed[?]); Mark 16 digits from the start of the number. (here 0791947101670000) Thats your SMSC Number.
Go back to
*#*#4636#*#*
first option, scroll down to "SMSC" and enter your SMSC, click the button directly next to the input field.
Leave this screen and go back to it. Scroll down to the SMSC section and click the right button. (if everything is correct, you should now see the correct SMSC number instead of "00")
If you need further help, feel free to send me a PM.
Thanks a lot. That link is dead but I found a post with the number:
07913121139418F0 which worked for an ATnT customer and now it's working. I'm about to search for another udp encoder so I can use the proper straight talk smsc. Much appreciated!

NO KIDDING! I was having the same problem, and now it's fixed, thanks to you guys! ST is not very helpful over the phone, however I have found they have much better customer service over facebook.
I tried using the number in this thread and the att number and I still cannot send messages. When I refresh the smsc number after entering the att number, I get the same number with an extra 0 at the end. I know why it was wiped, I just cannot get it back. No matter which number I try, I still get a message not sent error

I hope you got this sorted. But it needs to be said your SMSC number is carrier specific. My carrier is Straight Talk specifically but I am using the At&t MVNO not the T-mobile. Since my service is through At&t's network, I'm using At&t's SMSC number. You will need to find or decipher your carriers SMSC.

I ended up getting it. My code was exactly the same but when I tried it, I did not capitalize the letter and it would not work. As soon as I did, it worked so all is well

Hi all. I'm unable to send international SMS from my GNexus. My carrier says my settings are fine and no blocks against my account. Funny thing is that when I use the same sim card in a blackberry I can send international messages fine. The carrier did suggest I enter SMSC settings but the guide they gave me doesn't correspond with the GNexus menus. Can anyone help?

At the risk of stating the obvious, check that you have the correct number. Make sure you dial the "+", then the two digit country code, then the local number (usually without the 0 at the beginning.)
Can you receive international SMS? If so, reply to the same number.

I needed to actually set the voicemail number on this device SM N900T running kitkat.
I have used the Samsung s4, nexus 5, iPhone 6s and I never set a voicemail number as I always called myself from my phone. It could be that I'm not with T-Mobile.
So calling yourself doesn't immediately prompt for the password?
Got it
Never mind that, figured it out, need SMN900A ATT NOTE 3 to change the voicemail number
Hi,
I have come over to Android from Windows Phone. I have pretty much got my Note 8 how I want it but, I have an issue with the dialler. My numbers have all been stored in the following format;
Landline numbers; +44 (01234) 123456
Mobile numbers; +447012123456
Now, my Windows Phone dialler was smart enough to be able to call the nun Bevin this format. My Samsung dialler, not so much. Whilst mobile numbers work fine, landlines are an issue, I get an invalid number error.
Is there anything I can do as I don’t really want to change all my numbers if I can help it as I have a few, over 1500.
Thanks in advance.

In the three years nobody ever complained about international numbers on our Note 8.0 tablets. Is your sim unlocked and using a out of country sim card? You should contact your UK rep, as the UK version is a phablet, all our US devices are tablet only.
