Welcome, here is how to dual boot roms on the galaxy s3,
to keep this post short and simple as possible, YOU must find a kernel that supports kexec, Verizon users can use the ezvzw app in the play store. sprint can use team epics website, theoretically works on other us variant.
now go to google play and download dual boot helper.
this app allows you to boot from other forms of storage such as external sd card.
now when you download the app and it installs, open it and click on your menu button. (for noobs, the left touch button on our gs3 handsets) and you will be able to see that you can copy your nand to external sd. do this.
now you will be in recovery mode. wait for the script to completely copy the system files to your sd card.
now power off and eject sd card from the back of your phone. this will have your primary rom installed.
now if you don't have a second rom that you wish to install to the device itself, then well...... find one
now reboot into recovery mode and make sure that your external sd is ejected, and also be sure to mount external sd before starting. (the internal sd is usually mounted in the beginning)
now prefrom a factory reset BEFORE you flash the new rom. next after the factory reset, flash the new rom.
now you can reboot the device and reinstall the dual boot helper app I previously mentioned.
now, make sure your kernel still supports kexec.
you should be done! you can now change boot device from the primary rom in your external sd, and your backup rom in internal storage.
questions? just ask and I will do my best to answer. do not depend on me to answer nooby questions.
and if you guys send bashing comments on how it does not work for you, then try again or reread the instructions, for it took me 3 times and many hours to get this to work for me.
hope this helped!!
Add "[GUIDE]" to the title, it's a little misleading lol

Thanks, I tried Root External to Internal SD App in many ways as per your suggestions,
the original path to the internal mount point -- /mnt/sdcard
the original path to the external mount point -- /mnt/ext_card
the original device representing the external sdcard -- /dev/block/vold/179:33
the options to mount it (often umask=0000 is ok) -- umask=0000
Above results are sample snapshots for 1 test result. I formatted SD using exFat filesystem, after that mobile unable to mount it.
It doesn't seems to be worked.
Why don't you people look around the forum before creating new thread?

Hey guys, i have a few questions and would really appreciate if you guys could give me the answers. :good:
1. If I unlock the bootloader and root(including flashing wp_mod) my HTC Desire 816 but remain in my default stock ROM ,will I still receive software updates from HTC officially?
2.I know that HTC Desire 816 has only about 3 GB usable internal memory, and that's a big issue for game data size of apps which can't be moved to SD card (i.e GTA SA) ,is there any solution for that? Will Link2SD do the trick? Or is there anyway to emulate /link the ext SD and Int SD?
3.Is it required to install busy box for Link2SD to work? Can I just download and install Busybox from Googleplay store? And does Busybox have any issues installing it on this device ?

yes, apps like Foldermount or the Xposed module you introduced are better suited for big game data files
OK I think it's better to use OBB ON SD instead of link2sd or foldermount ,I'm clear with that ,thank you guys. Now could anyone give me the answer for question 1?

You will no longer be able to receive software updates from HTC. However if you unroot, relock the bootloader, and flash stock recovery, you will be able to get official updates again.
Dear All DEVs,
I have a solemn question to all. Am using Micromax Canvas A1 running on 6.0.1 and with thunderzap latest kernel. being a noob would ask for a simple step by step guide from you as a kind help to solve the storage shortage.

A lot of appreciations and heartily thanks to all of you in advance.
