Thanks, I tried Root External to Internal SD App in many ways as per your suggestions,
the original path to the internal mount point -- /mnt/sdcard
the original path to the external mount point -- /mnt/ext_card
the original device representing the external sdcard -- /dev/block/vold/179:33
the options to mount it (often umask=0000 is ok) -- umask=0000
Above results are sample snapshots for 1 test result. I formatted SD using exFat filesystem, after that mobile unable to mount it.
It doesn't seems to be worked.

Why don't you people look around the forum before creating new thread?

I prefer Foldermount. Lets me mount at boot and it's more versatile.
Did anyone get link2sd to work? I got bootloops
But that was before I did a full root, maybe I should try it again.

Link2SD works perfectly fine on my phone. Rooted with Super SU, Bootloader locked! However you should note that, since the Firmware we are using is stock firmware, it might not have support for EXT2, 3, 4 filesystems as the second parititon of the SD Card, I already tried, so you're going to have to format the second parititon of your SD card using FAT32,using minitool home parititon wizard, then use LINK2SD, it should work perfect. But even then, you can move the App, Dex files and Lib files, which work fine for apps, but the games have an additional SD data or OBB files, which cant be moved to SD card. Meaning to perfectly play games on our Xperia M, you need to have a combination of Link2SD and GL to SD apps, GL to SD helps link./ mount the games on SD card and bind them to the apps, and make them appear as if they were on the internal SD.

Download link2sd and install the app,
Then, connect your memory card via a card reader.
Download Mini Tool Home Partition Wizard(Google it)
open the Mini Tool and select your memory card,
Assuming you backed up the data on your memory card,
Format the drive for best results, and create a new parition, File type FAT32. Type: PRIMARY!! Set the file size...
Leave whatever amount of space you want for the Apps partition.
Then create another partition on the SD card.
It will say that the second partition will not be viewable on Windows, Click OK.
Then change partition type to FAT32... Size is your wish. And Type: Primary!!
Then save changes, Now you should have two partitions on your SD card,
Both are FAT32 and both are PRIMARY!!! -This is necessary.
Then put back the Mem card in the phone,
Open LINK2SD, select second partition as FAT32, reboot the phone, and
You should be able to now expand the memory of your phone... Transfer apps to Memory card!
when i want to install link2sd show me error App not installed
You're not able to install link2sd from play store?

How many gigs are on the sd card?
A possible answer is that the xperia m dual will accept an sd card only as big as 32gigs. If u have a 64 gb sd card, it will not work with your device
Sent from my C2005 using xda app-developers app
64GB or higher SD cards may work in Xperia M if you format them in FAT32 using a computer before using in the phone
That is still a possibility but it only might work, not guaranteed

Are you talking about moving apps to SD card?
Simply you can't - Xperia M is designed this way
-
But you can partition your SD card and use link2sd crad.
Probably one of the worst decisions ive made was to buy this phone, fml

I successfully mounted and used an 250GB external HDD through OTG when I formatted it as FAT32, so, it should work with SD Cards too. Higher capacity SD Cards doesn't work out of the box in many phones because they come preformatted with proprietary file systems (exFAT/NTFS). From my tests, Xperia M can successfully mount volumes formatted in ext2/3/4 and FAT12/16/32 and the maximum size is limited only to the FS limit...

[Q] problem with OALD data

hello
I m using sony xperia m dual full rooted. my problem is with oxford advanced learner's dictionary data. this dictionary contain 1 gb sd data. as u all know this much data not possible in xperia m. so I used gl2sd for moving data into sd card. but gl2sd, folder mount showing 0 kb data for this app. actually this app contains a folder oxford where all data fixed.
now plz help me how to move this data into sd card
thanks
For gl2sd work you'll need root and there isn't any root method available in the 4.3 firmware other than unlocking your bootloader and losing your warranty and functionality of some Sony proprietary apps...

[Q] New Firmware for Xperia M 1905 without solving storrage problem?

Hello Everybody.
The new firmware (Android 4.3 - firmware 15.4.A.1.9) is still not able to move apps and other data to externel SDcard, isn´t it?
So I have to change the whole system on the Xperia M into antotherone which provides this function?
Which one would this be?
Thank you very much.

A bold and noble question, deserving of being in the Q&A forum and not the General forum.
Start out with Link2SD Plus as you've not define any gaming requirements in your question.
I have 73 Google Play apps installed and 1.75GB free on internal storage.
The paid 'plus' version of Link2SD allows app data to be moved to an external partition on the SDcard. Also if using an external partition don't skimp on using a quality SDcard with at least 40MBytes read access.
Link2SD won't help installing the likes of games like Modern Combat 4 and etc in which case you need another solution.
Update - Oh, the above assumes you have root access on your phone. [emoji6]

My girlfriend bought this handy with an 32gb external SDcard.
With her old handy Sony-Ericsson Live (Android 2.3) she was able to move apps etc. on the external SDcard and never had problems with space.
She would like to have this function on her Xperia M.
Link2SD, Foldermount etc. are not working proberly or beeing to complicated for her.
I thought with this new update the Xperia will have this function because a lot of users complaint about this problem.
Sorry about asking this question in the wrong area.

Ah, German. [emoji3] re: handy
They stopped providing default move data/app to SDcard circa Android 4.1
You'd need to buy a phone with at least 4gb+ of internal flash such as Xperia L if you want a turn key solution.
There are many how-to tutorials on installing and setting up Link2SD and once setup, it looks after itself. It'll automatically move data to SDcard if app allows it or can be manually linked.
No solutions by default to move data to SDcard on the Xperia M.
You'll need root access and a system mod/application to do that.
In settings ->storage there is an option to move pics , music and videos to SDcard, but it's just a cleanup to recover space.
Camera also has option to store photos on SDcard

Hey.
Yes German. I´m sorry. Mobile phone .
The option on the camera to store the pics on SD is set and the option to move pics vids ore music on SD shows 0 files.
Ok, no default solution for Xperia M. But other mobile phones/androids are supporting this function further on?
Now I have to check up the possibilities to get this function. Link2SD, App2SD or Swapping the SDcard with internal space?
I don´t know which would be the best way...
Sony does have the option to use the external SD as primary storage in Android 4.3, they just chose not to at this time. KK 4.4 has another approach to storage location again.
I have no idea if there'll be further fw updates for the Xperia M.
I would suggest root access for the handy first and then Link2SD unless your requirements dictate other requirements.
If using the SD card as external storage and the card is not a class10 or better, I'd consider a new 32GB card (e.g. 32GB SanDisk Extreme 45MB read)

Hello and thanks a lot for your advice.
The Swapping Tool sounds interessting.
How get i started?
Downloading the .zip, extract it...?
adb and drivers means, the Sony Companion is running and detecting the mobile phone?
To root the handy i use Framaroot, is that ok?
What I have to do else bevor running the install.bat?
Thank you very much for your support.

[Q] Does App2sd function really work?

Hi all, I have installed cm12 with App2sd function on my Xperia M (C1905) and although I get a message for successful movement to the ext card, nothing seems to work as my available internal storege still reduces with every install. Also, if I set the external sd card as the default install location, I get the famous "insufficient storage available" when trying to install big apps although I have more than enough free storage. Clean Master also says "Your device storage and internal SD card are the same, so moving is unnecessary" and google camera's option for saving photos to the external card is also dissapeared.
Despite all these, if I remove the sd card while having applications installed in it, the apps cannot open (popup: app not installed). It seems like the apps are indeed installed in the sd card but my phone believes they are in the internal(?)
Is there something I can do about this? I use a 32 gb fat32 sd card, but I have tried ext4 and ntfs too, with no result. I also can't mount a 2nd partition (if any) with Link2sd.
App2sd works but...does not move complete data...
I feel temp files, apk, and cache still remained in internal sd.
Link2sd if far better...than this...
Oh I see… Unfortunately I can't get link2sd to work for me :/ Do you know if storage swap works on lollipop?
Thanks for your help!

Hey,
The app2sd problem in 10.01 fxp is fixed..
Flash the boot.img in this file using flash tool
http://www.mediafire.com/?cpklvyh374193qw
And no swap method is available for lollipop yet.
Link2sd ll work only if you have two partitions...
Try like this, one partition with fat32 and second partition with ext4 . Good Luck
