A few days ago my touchscreen stopped recognizing my finger when I would swipe or do anything. I tried the s-pen and it works fine. I have rebooted it, done a soft reboot, and totally reset the phone to the factory settings. I have had the phone for about a month now. Any help would be nice
I had the same problem, and it only gets worse. I swapped mine out, free of charge. So, I would do the same.
Restoring Touch screen in note 4.
I´ve got the same problem. My Galaxy Note 4 (N910F) After installing CWM only a part of the screen responds to touch but works fine with the SPen, seems to be de-calibrated. After a few days looking arround I've found that there´s a method to reset wacom and the touch screen.
In the phone app, type *#2663# . It appears a screen that give you some options, I´ve reseted all the firmware options of wacom and touch screen. Then, all worked fine again.
When I´ve some more time I´ll put some screenshots.
Hope that can help some one to solve this anoying problem!!!
thank you
oh man, thank you so much you are a genius. I really thought my digitizer win bad until I found you post once again thank you
Note 4 Touchscreen Calibration
Huge THANKS for helping me out. Was installing a recovery with Odin and all of the sudden my touchscreen was so far off I couldn't use the phone. Tried going back to stock, no luck, the touchpad was still out of calibration. Couldn't get TWRP to restore cause I couldn't press the buttons, then when I somehow did get it to restore (lineage) it did no good. Out of desperation tried the s-pen and found out it was working just fine. So, using the s-pen, I applied your *#2663# trick, updated everything on the screen, and now my Note 4 is back up and running normally! Can't say thank you enough...

Hi, to all!
I have a problem with the touchscreen of my hermes alias O2 trion.
When starting from cold state the touchscreen works normal. After some time the screen reacts not allways and shortly after that it does not react at all. Reset does not change anything.
Is it a upgrading problem or is it a hardware problem?
Here the hole story:
I bought a used device with Win Mobile 5 on it. At the first try out it worked, but afer some time the screen did not react to my stylus at all. After a reset it worked again so i dit not pay much attention to this and upgraded to official Windows mobile 6 (which was downloaded from O2). Update worked fine.
Then i ran a rom update on the computer to change the start screen. The tion disconnected (update stopped at 0%). Little shock, but the trion still worked. The program and radio versions did not change.
First thought: this was no official update, so trion did not accept it. Was something installed or was everything blocked?
Could this make problems?
What do you think?
Thanks
i think this problem:

Did you try to re-calibrate your screen? It could be a question of the screen loosing calibration so bad that when you press it, it works but you are not HITTING any buttons, because the calibration is off...
I have that problem with my Hermes, I need to recalibrate several times every day, especially after sliding out the keyboard (since the screen flips then) .
There's a very nifty short-cut to the calibration app: press the middle button on the D-pad while pressing the messaging button to go to the calibration screen, then press the middle D-pad button to launch the calibration (same as pressing "calibrate" with your stylus).
There seems to be a lot of Herms that have serious calibration issues. I'm personally so tired of it I am thinking of buying something else.
Good luck,
Laz
It's KNOWN hardware issue where the processor heats up and *somehow* transfer heat to the digitizer which make it unresponsive. I got a Hermes just like that laying around. Can't fix it.

Thanks!
Today the touchscreen worked good. Even playing spider solitair was possible. Then i pluged it into power supply and the device got slightly warm. The touchscreen did not work any more.
Could be a heating problem of the prozessor like Mikro_ Tech described. Thanks by the way
How can i be sure it is this problem and not something else?
@LazPL: That was one of my first thoughts as well and i did.
When the Touchscreen works, it works just fine and accurate. Then it behaves strange (sometimes not corresponding to touches, programms close all of a sudden) and shortly after that it doesn not work at all.
@the_passenger: The Hermes Version is HT 626... Anything special to this, because the link just lists screen allignment issues for this modell?
What do you think of the solution from the link LazPL posted?
my tp2 touch screen is not responding suddenly!!! the problem started only after i answered some call through the screen slider, however, the touch screen is not responding to my fingers ever since !!!!
now i'm operating the phone only through the buttons !! but as if it is not touch screen!!
anyone have a clue about what the problem can be?? please help me. my device runs wm 6.5 and this is the first time to have this problem, i did soft reset many times but no imrovment!!
I had SOD this early morning and it was my first, do you guys think there is a relation between these events???
I have the same problem.
Just happened this morning.
I was able to use my mobiler to access the screen.
Tried several hard resets. No luck.
Tried re-installing energy Rom (4.1)
Then tried the new Energy Rom (4.11) still no luck.
But then I got the big idea to go back to the stock ROM. Now I cannot use the on screen prompts to access "my mobiler"
Anybody have any suggestions or is it back to AT&T for a new phone?
so whe you back to the stock rom, did u get ur screen working again??
No. no workey
Now that stock rom is on. I keep going back to the "Sim Card Changed" screen. I can not tap "cancel" or "Next". I can use the hard buttons so I am able to get to the phone and then use keyboard to dial.
Still no touch screen. And no work around with keyboard to get to screen. need a "Tab" button. then might be okay.
this sucks.
Just a quick bump before I go to AT&t in the morning.
Try running task 29 and then flash back to a stock.
And have you tried taking your sim card out of you're phone? Maybe that will avoid the message.
i'm buying a black berry
Does your screen look as if an oily residue is under the touch screen part?
My screen stopped responding a few weeks after the appearance of the 'oil' and Vodafone swapped it with no problems. It seems like a fairly common problem
yes, I've got that oily spot and somehow i managed to relief the problem only for minutes when i raised the digitizer carefuly which got me the screen working for few minutes untill it went unresponsive again after while. I'm looking forward to do alcohol swab to this oily spot and will see weather this will solve the problem..

Reboot the phone if that happens , if the problem persists do a data/factory reset or reflash the rom with Odin. Never heard of this issue before.

hi i have tried doing the following :
1-reboot
2-hard reset.
3-battery removed and re-inserted ,reboot
what could be the reason ?? could this be a water loggin issue (but my phone was never exposed to any rain/water flow /spillage ) ???
If the stylus is still working ok, I'd say the issue is likely a faulty capacitive touchscreen, and as such, a hardware issue.
The S-Pen uses a Wacom digitiser separate to the touchscreen.

Dave

Being on DP3, your symptoms don't match the touchscreen issues in this post, but you might want to look into it to see if it helps.

Okay it has been a long time since my issue, I have tried the suggested method and didn't work. few days later my screen suddenly turned upside down!!! and not it only showing like a purple wave then only white screen!! not even google logo or bootloader.
P.S: Bootloader and recovery worked perfectly before as screen and touch, but now screen only shows a color!!!
Yesterday suddenly my phone just deny to work with touch screen. I try hard reset with update.zip. I try clear data with button combination. I wonder what can be the cause? Is there anyone with the same problem? I wonder if i change the touch screen what will happen? Because the screen is not broken, i didnt hit the phone. The touch stopped just when it was with screen off. I hit the power button to wake it up, and then cant swipe.
Yes unfotunately mine as well. It happened 1 year ago, touchscreen used to work randomly. So I sent it back to China, but it was working perfectly.
After getting it back it worked for 1 month, and since impossible to do anything. Without touchscreen no TWRP, no backup possible, no flash.
It's a brick now and it is no guaranteed anymore. I lost my money my time and my nerves.
So sorry for you but I don't think you'll manage to fix it. I think it's an hardware issue.
You can try use OTG cable and a mouse.
Mine touchscreen have an row in the middle, with about 1 centimeter that don't recognize the touch, all the rest work perfect. With a mouse, work all.
Mine stopped working one morning. I left the phone on the bedside table and the next morning the touch screen didn’t work..that’s all…the screen is fine, I didn’t have any accident with it...
It was 4 months ago.. I tried everything I could to revive the phone, but I couldn’t.. so I bought a new phone, from different brand obviously
Good luck with yours!
