Why should the average user take the risk?
The "Average" user shouldn't in my view. Original firmware is pretty stable so there's no immediate need for custom ROMS or removal of shipped apps.

An average user shouldn't, but it can be fun to have a proper play with the device!

You must admit there's some crap shipped apps installed on it, like most of the Live Wallpaper, widgets and Layar.

For example here in Finland you need to root your Android to get Android Market for example..
It is possible to set the higher priority of some tasks? Like LauncherPro. It would react more responsible when there are another apps running with high cpu usage.
also i would like to set the priority to low of a task which installs applications from market, so the phone is more usable.
Would it be possible?
hope you got my english

So does Market enabler work on the i9000?
ME works like a charm
What if I root my phone and samsung releases a new firmware.
Can I update the firmware without any issues, and will I still have root after such an upgrade?
If you gained Root with Flashing the csc file from Leshak, you simply dont flash the csc file of the new firmware and you will still have root.

The way Samsung handles updates is they are released in odin packages. To install these roms that are in these odins packages you must have the odin program that will install it onto your phone. The problem is that this will wipe out all your settings and apps on your phone. You could try using a backup and for your apps and settings but they don't always work when your upgrading.
Also in regards to the initial question remember you wont have wifi-tether or a huge choice of custom roms (no sense roms, no early Froyo roms). Those two reasons alone have drawn me away from Samsung. I would rather get a HTC Aria then this locked down phone.

What? No custom roms?? Why not!? :|
Still I really love this phone, think I'll get it anyway. Little bit sad that we cannot get custom roms, are you 100% sure of this?
No I said you won't get a huge choice of custom roms. Every Rom will be based off of what Samsung releases

What? That doesn't make sense. There are already custom roms for the galaxy s. And they are in the form of an update.zip
It looks like samsung has released a real customizable device, easily rooted and a recovery that allows any update.zip without checking for checksums..

Same here in China. We can only view the free contents without rooting our phone.

Do you mean that we cannot use Launcherpro without rooting the phone? That is a awesome launcher. I think it is even better than there original launcher in the Galaxy S.

No you can use launcherpro just fine without rooting the phone BUT you won't be able to connect to Kies while launcherpro is set as default. So just use a program like home switcher to temporarily set it back to samsungs launcher if you need to connect to Kies.
I am assuming this is just like every other lg phone and if you uninstall a system app it will reboot the phone and reinstall it right?

I usually go with the freezing app route using titanium
That's what i have done so far. Was just curious if it follows the classic lg way

Depends on what you mean by bloat. If you mean the LG apps, I dunno. But after using PurpleDrake I was able to remove Amazon, Google Play Movies & TV, etc, plus a couple of the TMo apps, without causing them to reappear on reboot.

And in case any of you guys are wondering what PurpleDrake is as quoted
This is a utility to easily root your LG G3 (specific models only). It's a fairly foolproof script that includes all the dependencies you'll need for getting your phone rooted easily.

You're welcome :good:
Consider installing the ZoneRom if you want a shortcut to debloating. It's basically stock without some of the Google and T-Mobile crap (which I don't use). I haven't had a single issue with the ROM yet.
Any easy way to remove that Carrier IQ crap. It constantly is #1 in soaking up battery life.
My dad has an older lg optimus and asked me how to remove google apps because of the little space on his phone.
I searched and can root it but witch app is simple to remove the google apps?
I use titanium backup but i have the paid version.
Can i remove apps without paid version with it or are the more apps?
Sorry for the bad english. Im from the Netherlands

Quick answer YES.
You can perform most action with TBu without Pro Licence, but, it's always nice to support Dev's.....

Not really kinda hard ive not only debloated from root uninstaller i also rremoved a lot of filez throught root browser like all ringtones. Extra boot anis in media folder. Extra fonts. A lot of trial and error if u delete a wrong file gota restore system and start again. Aslo noticed in system/privapp. There was a lot of leftovers from what i debloated i dont have a list. I dont use a lot of stuff like other people so i did debloat stuff most people use.
Im sorry its not the answer ure looking for
Hello,
Did anyone successfully debloat the device without root?
I purchased a T-Mobile model, comes with too much junk
I've disabled a ton of things until root is possible on this device. But given other recent LG devices on T-Mobile have yet to be bootloader unlocked let alone rooted I doubt this will any time soon.

Yeah ive disabled so much too but it feels so much better to have that system space back. Off topic but have you had any luck with replacement launchers? Im afraid LG launcher will still run in the background
Care to post a list of what you removed?
What are you using to disable/debloat the apps that can't be disabled via app manager?
I have the same version and we can't get rid of a lot of stuff even to disable is greyed out.
