guys, i cant stress this enough and i'm sure the old android heads here will agree with me. their are many many different android phones out there that have root. And although they're all different they all have a few apps in common. setcpu, rom manager, terminal, titanium back up.
I just want to touch base on Titanium backup.
It allows you to totally remove any app, including bloat ware. You can also suspend apps.
the freeze feature was handy because i enjoy sense but didn't like its apps and widgets hogging ram for no reason; considering i never used those sense apps. it netted in a nice battery and performance gain, at least.
one awesome thing about TB is the ability to back up your apps and reinstall all of them. the whole experience is as streamlined as batch market downloading and waaaaaay better than astro file managers one at a time annoying install.
Also, after a full wipe you will definitely want to run market dr so u can easily keep tabs on your updates.
in short, you wouldn't bang her/him without a condom right? well don't flash with out titanium backup!
I totally recommend the paid version!!!!!
So now we can uninstall completely without consequences web2go, Pico TTS, Quickoffice, Listen , Home screen tips, Google Skymaps, Google Translate, Goggles, Finance, wifi calling, etc ??
I was about to but i got a message that said i might have to reinstall the ROM if something craps out...

I would wait for a clockwork recovery version to be available. This way u can make a backup before u delete all that

oh i see,
in regards to a backup? i think itll be best to be safe than sorry and wait till clockwork recovery is released.
is there a big difference between the free and paid version? what im asking is would i still be able to do back up and delete bloatware with the free version
The batch is MUCH better with the paid version, definitely well worth it

I agree!!!!!!!!!
Just one thing: please don't forget that system apps (ie: apps that are part of your ROM) themselves can't be restored by TitaniumBackup for now. Only their data is backed up. So if somebody is not 100% sure about removing a system app, it's wise to try freezing it first -because that's easy to undo.
So how do we do the remove of unwanted apps

Install Cerberus anti-theft if you are rooted, I have it installed and set up to survive formats and it even survives ROM flashes, and can be set up to be uninstallable from play store, and even be hidden from the app drawer and accessed through a dial code And it has an awesome array of nifty features in the Pro version, at only £3.49 I believe.
Edit, nevermind It is a paid app by default but you get a full week trial.

Then you aren't going to get nearly as good protection, if you don't wanna fork out a measly four bucks, which is a one time payment and is cheaper than a monthly payment for insurance, it's your loss, for about $4, it is the best app I have ever purchased, especially with all the options available at my disposal should the phone be stolen/lost.
Thought this may be useful for everyone to have as the device does sadly have a tendency to be a bit laggy.
Have followed a few guides and got some great info from XDA so trying to give a little back if I can
From what I have done I have found no ill effects that I have noticed so far, all fairly obvious choices so early on, but will get braver as I get more used to the handset and I'm sure others have been more adventurous than me and can help bulk the list up a bit and we can do away with a whole bunch of bloat to get a smoother ride from out G3. Some of these I froze as I prefer other 3rd party apps.

I think you should do a different list for the Google apps, the main attention people will give this thread is to find out what LG apps they can freeze and remove, most people will not be interesting in removing the Google apps from their devices.

They do different things. Freezing them is like uninstalling them - they are gone and won't work at all but can be retrieved by unfreezing. Greenifying them just hibernates them but they work as normal.

Could we have a non-root list, and also a description of what gets disabled/broken for each one. E.g. what does Cell Broadcast do? (I've googled, I 'm now aware, not relevant currently in the UK).
ActionManager service? Board Content Provider?
I've found this list but most of the bloat on Verizon wasn't on mine, since I'm not in the US: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/list-bloatware-safe-to-disable-t2819370

And how is everything working out after having disabled all those 3 weeks ago? Any anomalies or bad experiences? So far your screenshots give the best list of the removable apps (I'm completely new to LG so I don't know about their stock stuff), and I'd love to remove them but I'm afraid to experiment without a fully working recovery to restore nandroid.

My list is almost this one of yours. Had to unfreeze some of those because it made the home screen very lagged.
Everything Google uninstalled or frozen for over 2 weeks. No problems or complaints.
thanks the development has really taken off for this great device
So I froze most of these. Will it free up memory or do I have to delete them? Kinda scared to delete them. I have nandroid backup, just hate to possibly have to restore when the phone is running good.

One other question regarding the chinese version. I guess the one I bought off aliexpress has already been set up for play store but it looks like there are a lot of features missing. Like when I'm setting up the phone there isn't an option to restore most things like apps and other stuff from my old android (Samsung S6). Looks like only my contacts were restored. So I guess my question is, is there something I'm missing or is this only since this is the chinese version? If the latter is true, can I change the firmware and everything will be alright? I've read somewhere that you can change the firmware by paying a third party (not sure how much or if it even worth it).

Chinese or global version.
I just got my V20 two days ago and so far I am pleasently surprised. However I ordered the chinese version since it was much cheaper for me. Apart from a minor issue copying everything of my previous phone most things are working as they should. There are a few programs like "find my phone" that apparently don't work in my region(Europe). So here is my question, does anyone know if I'm missing out a lot of options/capabilities? I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to rebrand the phone to the global version. Also can someone that has the global version check if the Icelandic language is an option as the system language on the phone? It's not on the chinese one.
Thanks

If you want to rebrand I suggest you to wait for few days as some one will find a free method instead of paying methods.

Devs behind Package Disabler Pro are scam artists. The apps work, but they are always deleting them then releasing a new version a few weeks later. Usually after a new phone comes out.
They've probably done this 5-6 times since I got the my first app from them. I asked them about giving me a license since I already paid, and they basically told me it's Samsung's fault it gets removed and I have to pay again to make up for the trouble.

Wait, so you need a PC in order to disable or enable an app through adb but yet you can't picture a use case for apps like package disabler pro?
What about apps you don't use often? Isn't it better to disable them until you need to use them so android don't have them running in the background for no reason?
So what if you're using a different launcher than the stock launcher wouldn't it make sense to disable stock launcher until you need it?
I can go on but the best part is that you don't need a PC to do it.

I don't think you even need package disabler for that, you can just go into developer options and disable auto update from there. Or in package disabler in system apps you should see one that is called "update" or something like that.

Actually it's Samsung that requests that Google block the app in the playstore. They plainly tell you to buy it from their website because that way Samsung or Google can't block it. So instead of paying 5-6 times why didn't just buy it from their website once?

No need to get defensive. It is better to disable so android isn't running them in the background, I just can't think of an app I'd ever need to enable/disable on the fly. Certainly not the stock launcher, that can stay permanently disabled.

If you read reviews about them, they are notorious for doing what I said. Not once did they ever tell me I could get the app directly from them by the way, it's always been to rebuy it from the app store. They don't list a website on the play store and the email address is where they told me to keep rebuying it in the play store
Not to mention, they always name it the same thing. I can't for a minute believe that google keeps allowing them to re-upload the app with the same name over and over again if Samsung is getting it removed. lol.

Not defensive/aggressive in the slightest. It's just that I use it all the time and I disable pretty much every app I'm not currently using as in every app gets disabled until I need it, with a few exceptions. Android/Google/Samsung services are not killing my battery in the background. But to each his own.

So you are saying they also made you pay twice? I still wouldn't be happy with that. I paid for the license, it's not my fault Samsung got their app removed. I'd have to dig, but I have the emails where they told me I had to pay again because of Samsung causing them trouble. They could easily issue a code to let me claim the license I already paid for.
I don't think they really want website sales, but will take them as a last ditch effort. Can't claim Samsung made you delete it off your own website.
If they wanted the sales on their website, then they would have their website listed on google play. Then someone like me who searches for the app like today, where it doesn't exist again, could look at one of their other apps and find my way to buy it.
For what it's worth, they do the same thing with the LG version of the app. They delete it at least once a year then release it again. Not sure what excuse they use on that one.
Edit: I will give them one last chance, I sent them an email again to see if they would make good. See if things have changed.
How about a list of apps people have removed successfully without issues.

This is definitely true. I have been re-buying this app almost every time I get a new samsung phone (been upgrading every 6 months to S and Note series since the Note 5/7/S7 Edge, so that is at least 10 different devices. I am pretty sure I have re-bought it every time! However I have always used google opinion rewards money so it was basically free for me, now that they only sell the working version on their site I am done with them.
