Do not update JHC with Odin.
If you do, you will never again get straight updates from Kies..
Also current rom will not start properly if updated with Odin (unless "modified").
Working on it.
oh i see, thanks
@Richthofen .. It is safe to do it with Kies ? Do you know the status of JPC ..Is it a near finished Froyo release , or also just antoher early testrelease ?

Seems to me to be a more stable (however still a beta) firmware. JIT isn't enabled (when it is we'll see real speed boosts).

It seems the samfirmware website is still not working, anybody else get this to work?
did anyone test flashing that with odin yet?
Well I've just looked at and I can't see how this can work with odin... the only file in the archive is an add_jpc.tar, and then when that is opened in winrar, it contains 5 files:-
cache.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
zImage
ETA: OK I can open the cache.rfs and factoryfs.rfs files in 7zip but still they dont contain the files needed AFAICT.
If its anything like older versions you put add_jpc.tar as the PDA file.
EDIT: Like that

I have just flashed my i9k via Odin. Just put out SIM, go to dwnld mode, connect to Odin, stock in 512.pit and file add_jpc, which is possible to download few sites later and flash. Everything seem to work fine till now for me
PS: I have 2.2, when i looked in settings and its pretty fast

That's a pretty standard layout, all the files are just rolled into one huge tar file. Someone says flashing that tar with 512 pit worked for them

don't understand? If it doesn't work, all you need is to flash back older /workable firmware.

That's good to know, although I'm going to wait for Richthofen to come back. Btw, the file is already available > http://www.multiupload.com/GEA547U9PT I have the JPD version as well from the FUD server and it's the same.
Okay, tried to update via odin - fail. It seems that firmware flashes, but during boot cant mount DBDATA
Hey guys, I know a lot of us has been stuck with paper weights since we messed up flashing our phones thinking the L710 and L710t were the same... sooo, if you lost your imei and baseband unkown and no network and no audio and all these issues and just want to go back to stock.. you've come to the right place.
Remember this is for the sprint sph l710T .... note the T for triband lol
Step 1. Download Odin (search google)
Step 2. .tar file from here (https://mega.co.nz/#!cBBDEBpJ!t5IAcCaMg2w7GDI0zhhmZw0e7jh0Uv0v4gJpsH8gb6o)
put this in to odin in the pda section (note: if the file gives an md5 mismatch of some sort, remove (.md5) from the extension to leave the .tar)
step 3. put your phone in download mode... flash that shiiiiii, be patient and profit!

yep i can verify i had to get this version cause the charging port on my phone died and according to the site it came from it should work across the board with Sprint, Boost, and Virgin Sph-L710T
I made a flashable zip that De-Odex the stock rom https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473400340 check it out if you want but read the description
Great news, thanks to all who made this happen!

Copy that. Out of curiosity, it appears most people need this .tar because they lost their baseband / modems after installing a different rom. Wouldn't it be easier to just flash the L710T NF4 modem firmware? I downloaded it and was going to try it with a few roms that were messing with my baseband. Thoughts?

Will this work for SPH-L710T on Virgin Mobile?
Because this happened to my friend on her's: http://androidforums.com/threads/sph-710t-deleted-google-play-services.887991/
TLR=She deleted Google Play Services and her phone is all kinds of screwed up, factory reset didn't help the phone refresh the system file on its own, so either I need the stock .tar OR someone to upload me their Google Play Services system app (my Stratosphere II's usually works once but I think Google Play tries to update it and it fails and then all the problems start again)

the one custom rom that will boot without the need for stock kernel is Conquest Singularity link https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15185 currently im running the Conquest-Singularity-10-beta9-Full.zip with the Conquest-Singularity-10-b10-update.zip everything seems to work fine except for the rotation but someone over at android forums says Conquest-Singularity-9-Full.zip by it self works including rotation he never mentioned the Conquest-Singularity-9.5-Update.zip so that's basically it to figure out how to install this amazing rom go to the Closed OP here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2774902

Do you still have this TAR available? The mega.co.nz link says the file is not available. I am in this exact same predicament where I thought this phone was the same as the L710 and now... I can't get anything I try to work. Always stuck in a boot-loop and I've tried a couple ROMs. I also can't seem to find a Stock ROM anywhere!

Here's the update.zip for the newest 5.1.1 leak build number D0F8...

You can sideload this file via the stock recovery
Code:
adb sideload update.zip
you must use lastest adb binary or it will fail.
Aaaaannd if you find any bugs you can downgrade back to CF6 5.1.1 no problem. I fully tested it Sorry Aou 100%
So, you're saying that the update will only be available for OCG users, not OF6? So, then, it's only an update for OCG -> OF8 ?
Weird.
Edit: NVM, I see what you're doing here. You're taking advantage of the idea that the phone will unpack this update.zip if it's already expecting to try to unpack and install the update.zip for OF6... clever.
Edit2: I'm thinking, perhaps we could create an OCG downgrade TWRP-flashable .zip that forcefully writes the OCG system & kernel to the device. It should be able to to, but I'm not sure that the OCG software would boot on the new OF6 bootloader...
Edit3: @Sunderwear - have you heard anything whether or not this leak includes a new sboot.bin (bootloader) ?
Edit4: Assuming the update.zip is signed properly, is there any reason we couldn't attempt to flash it using the factory/stock "e3" recovery?

Awesome. I took a look at the updater-script.
Best I can tell, it does update the bootloader (bot BOTA0 and BOTA1 with sboot.bin and cm.bin respectively). But it doesn't look like they're updating the revision number, because at the end, they update the system to SYSMAGIC002:
Code:
write_string_partition("/dev/block/platform/15570000.ufs/by-name/SYSTEM", 2000, "SYSMAGIC002", 11) || abort("fail to write secure_sysmgic in system.");
Noteworthy that this appeas to be exclusively an update from OF6 -> OF8, according to the stuff at the top.
Code:
abort("Package expects build fingerprint of samsung/zeroltetmo/zeroltetmo:5.1.1/LMY47X/G925TUVU2COF6:user/release-keys or samsung/zeroltetmo/zeroltetmo:5.1.1/LMY47X/G925TUVU2DOF8:user/release-keys; this device has " + getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") + ".");
Edit: The sboot.bin seems to also saying stuff about SYSMAGIC002. And, for the heck of it, I tried to adb-sideload the update.zip from OF6 3e recovery. It fails the signature check.

That should be what you need, I came from a test build for Nash and used the FlashAll zip (RET specifically) from that site to take me all the way back to stock., Hence why each zip is ~3GB uncompressed.

I'm having the same issue. I've downloaded every 2+gb zipped XT1789-04 factory reset zip I can get my hands on. Thanks but NO GO .
I ran into this problem attempting to root the latest Oreo OCX27.1 and got into a bootloop. The only Oreo firmware available to download isis the previous OCX27 and I believe that downgrading to that causes the lost of baseband and imei. I am waiting to see when OCX27.1 will be available to download so I can try to return to stock to 27.1 see if it restores my baseband
The problem i am seeing is that none of the stock firmware are for ocx27.1. they are all for ocx27. i have seen an ota update that is for the ocx27.1 but i have not figured out how to extract it yet

To make this a little bit more visible for people not interested in my LOS thread but who still want to install the greatest recovery of them all, I'll post this in this separate thread for you.
What is TWRP?
TWRP is a custom recovery that enables you to backup and restore your device partitions, flash Custom ROMs, copy files from your internal storage, sideload stuff to your device and do many more amazing things. For more info visit their website.
A word of warning
The provided files are currently in beta and not fully tested!
My initial tests yielded positive results for a lot of the functions but I may have overlooked something and it may collapse on you. Don't blame me. Only use this if you have access to a computer with Odin to fix your recovery in case anything goes terribly wrong!
Please report any bugs in this thread and I'll try to fix them (or I'll relay them to the great people working on TWRP if I cannot do this).

I'd really appreciate your feedback, positive as well as negative, so that I can get a feeling for whether someone is actually using it and whether this is working. There have to be at least some of you who installed it after 700+ downloads. I want to have a good feeling before handing it over to the people at TWRP so that it can be officially downloaded from their website.

I did once gave a positive feedback pertaining to this latest version of twrp!! Its 150% fully working on my side, using a N8000!?
Thank you for all your work. Everything you do is at a level of excellence that I've only seen from the very best developers here on xda! I'm using your recovery on my N8013 and it works flawlessly.
Downloading and testing. I will give feedback ASAP.

Testing went fine. Everything works. But I noticed somethings are small. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like that?

Yes there is an issue with the rotation. Currently TWRP thinks that it is in portrait mode. It's already on my todo list.
I updated the version. Build N2 fixes the layout problem.
I've tried both Odin 3.13.1 and 3.09 with both versions (N1 & N2) of the TAR.MD5 file for my N8000 but I never get any further than the MD5 check. All I receive when I tryy to load the file using the button AP in Odin is: "MD5 error! Binary is invalid"
I have used the Duth file mirrors and also the Canadian file server. All files ends up with the same result. Any ideas on how to proceed please? Thanks!!
MD5 is a damaged file .

Change the extension name from MD5 to tar (just remove the MD5) in the file name. It should work.
Flashable file
Hi!
Firstly I would like to thank Don Carnage for great work in keeping this old tablet alive and running! My n8020 is stock recovery/stock rom rooted. Thing is, my usb port is not working and thus can't use odin. So I would need twrp.img-file that I can flash via terminal emulator. Could you provide it?

Nevermind, I bit the bullet and flashed the .img file that was meant for updating. Worked fine!
I use CWD, can I use odin to flash twrp over CWD without any issue?
CWD ??
TWRP can be flashed ok via recovert or Odin.

I think you'll have to flash it via Odin. I do have a copy of Odin that may work. Let me know if you need it.
That recovery is totally outdated and often does not work on latest rom builds .Nandroids may also fail .

Not sure whether this will work with CWM, you should use Odin/Heimdall instead.

I will check the Odin files tomorrow, it's already quite late here and I need some sleep.
