Seems like SamFirmwares will post it tonight.
Check : http://twitter.com/SamFirmware
Do not update JHC with Odin.
If you do, you will never again get straight updates from Kies..
Also current rom will not start properly if updated with Odin (unless "modified").
Working on it.
oh i see, thanks
@Richthofen .. It is safe to do it with Kies ? Do you know the status of JPC ..Is it a near finished Froyo release , or also just antoher early testrelease ?

Seems to me to be a more stable (however still a beta) firmware. JIT isn't enabled (when it is we'll see real speed boosts).

It seems the samfirmware website is still not working, anybody else get this to work?
did anyone test flashing that with odin yet?
Well I've just looked at and I can't see how this can work with odin... the only file in the archive is an add_jpc.tar, and then when that is opened in winrar, it contains 5 files:-
cache.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
zImage
ETA: OK I can open the cache.rfs and factoryfs.rfs files in 7zip but still they dont contain the files needed AFAICT.
If its anything like older versions you put add_jpc.tar as the PDA file.
EDIT: Like that

I have just flashed my i9k via Odin. Just put out SIM, go to dwnld mode, connect to Odin, stock in 512.pit and file add_jpc, which is possible to download few sites later and flash. Everything seem to work fine till now for me
PS: I have 2.2, when i looked in settings and its pretty fast

That's a pretty standard layout, all the files are just rolled into one huge tar file. Someone says flashing that tar with 512 pit worked for them

don't understand? If it doesn't work, all you need is to flash back older /workable firmware.

That's good to know, although I'm going to wait for Richthofen to come back. Btw, the file is already available > http://www.multiupload.com/GEA547U9PT I have the JPD version as well from the FUD server and it's the same.
Okay, tried to update via odin - fail. It seems that firmware flashes, but during boot cant mount DBDATA

Froyo isn't available through Kies yet in SA, only in the next week or two
So I've decided to skip the wait and flash with the latest I9000XWJPA firmware, apparently the 803.pit is required, as well as re-partition with the 512.pit with the I9000XWJM8 firmware. Perhaps I'm making a mistake, terribly new to Android
For reference all PIT files and most known firmwares are available from www.samfirmware.com.
Ah, PIT files are only partition information templates for Odin to move the sizes of the internal device partitions around. Everyone should just be using the 512 PIT now as the others were just development hacks. You will already have the 512 layout so there's no reason to even load it into Odin, always just let it flash without repartitioning.
But if you're not sure, then follow the samfirmware instructions, it's making you use the 512 PIT anyway, the 803 being loaded into Odin but repartition not being ticked does nothing.

You don't need a pit or I9000XWJM8, what you need is to flash directly CODE as PDA, MODEM as PHONE and CSC as CSC...no repartition.
If you must re-partition then use 512.pit and these files from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8911755&postcount=83
You need the first download and only one of the three CSC files(I recommend XEE).
Extract once using 7-zip, then load the files as I wrote earlier and PIT as 512.pt and check Re-partition.

Hi
I there a reason for you to act as a policeman in this forum?
You are flashing the below at YOUR OWN RISK
This is only for the Euro version, at&t version, T-mobile version or any other GSM version of the Tab. this is NOT for any CDMA version.
This is a new Tab firmware that just leaked out (P1000XXJM6)
So far the know pros are:
1) THE BROWSER IF FINALLY FIXED! it is very smooth even with flash. i am very impressed.
2) Users are reporting new widgets.
3) The drop down drawer is smoother.
4) New readers hub
5) tweaked email client
6) better camera focus?
7) ROM feels very smooth.
Update 11/29/2010
This is an updated package which should be safer to flash via Odin.
All credits are going to Richthofen who compiled this package for us.
As it seems that original package posted in this thread was not intended to be flashed via Odin.
Samsung has introduced a new FW programming method which also supports the upcoming phones. I don´t know if it is already supported by the newest Kies version.
The new format is basically the same as Odin only smarter with a few tricks and more stable.
Richthofen has prepared a new package for us that is flashable via Odin and should work much better with less problems.
Below are the download links and instructions for everything you need to flash P1000XXJM6.
1) Download the the file HERE and extract the it
2) Inside the ZIP you will find Odin 1.7 + PIT file + PDA +Modem + CSC files.
3) Open Odin, select the PIT file + PDA + Modem + CSC into their respective places.
4) Make sure repartition is CHECKED.
5) put the phone in download mode and connect it to your computer. start flashing.
6) The device will reboot. If you are getting tons of FC's on boot, reboot into recovery and do a factory reset.
Done.
** You can root using SuperOneClick method. Other methods do not work at this time.
**If you are on at&t and using the at&t model, please reflash the Bell modem to gain 850Mhz back.

Please be advised that i have not yet tested this firmware so i don't know if it works and i am not responsible if it bricks your Tab!!!
The brave ones are welcome to try and report back.
It was originally labeled as P1000XXJM9 on the Samsung FUS server however it looks like it is P1000XXJM6.
Download: http://www.multiupload.com/OO6CWYBQYN
Release date: 11/25/2010
Flash: latest Odin with no repartition (as this does not look like it is a full flash). No PIT file needed as it is not a full flash.

only thing is, it's now causing launcherpro and other apps to force close, so I'm going to re-flash JJ4 / JK5 clean then re-apply this update.

Try flashing this in the attachments using odin the same wayy you did the stock firmware, just extract the rar file and use the .md5, and then do a full factory reset then it should recognize.
forget KIES ( completely useless) ! flash SamMobile's firmwares with ODIN !

Hi all,
Over on Android Forums a thread has posted claiming Keis/OTA is downloading a new version of the Stock ROM. Version NJ3? Has anyone here seen this?
Yes my wife got it last week.
Any benefit seen? Or is it more a bloatware update?
She hasn't noticed anything. Hard for her to tell really not knowing anything lol
Has anyone had a chance to grab this updated tar? I am on full CM11, I will give it a go via Keis for PC if it would still attempt to download. I know it won't actually work not being stock.

it has a folder in it called platform tho but when you read the Platform_read_me.txt file thing it says it's for making modules but that you have to download the module stuff separately...
You won't get anything from that file in terms of getting a rom going, trust me.
The most you could do is build the kernel zImage, but you're even limited in that because you'd need the updated boot.img for repacking your compiled zImage.

Anyone have luck grabbing the full updated rom? I tried with kies but this happened: (from a post I did on Android Forums)
... I think something has changed as now there is a small program that downloads into the temp folder. Once that finishes it asks for elevated permissions and then starts a new direct download to the phone while it is attached. I am guessing they got wind of these instructions and changed their kies upgrade method.....
I think the key for unlock the Sim card its the modem..

Hi,
You must install the bootloader and the associate modem.
You can see this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60112855&postcount=3
@fabioplata I solved my problem by changing my decompression software ... now I extracted modems French providers to offer the download.
Tried that too.. It won't let me do either.. Odin ends in Fail as well
You must use odin 3.10.6 for this. I think you must choose your bootloader.tar or bootloader.tar.md5 and modem.tar or modem.tar.md5. After this, you can connect your phone for flash, only after. Sometimes the modem/baseband needs to be flashed 2 or even 3 times till it will get flashed correctly.
