I wonder if my recently mounted tempered glass protector hold on well when I insert the mobile in water, I bought the ultimate shield protector. ¿Does anyone know if it could take off over time after inserting it in water oftenly?

After you applied the screen protector in water, just remove the excessive water that's between the phone and the protector. Do it with a squeegee or use a hairdryer.
I tried a quick wash of phone, with the shield on. It stayed without problems!

Thank you guys, I will try not to wet the screen very ofte.
I found that once I used water to apply the screen protector large amounts of moisture were still trapped inside the screen even after a week. They weren't like water bubbles either, the protector was completely flush. Anyways, this moisture started become really obvious and discoloring my screen until I took it off. Anyone else have problems with doing this?

Hello, I don´t know your issue exactly. But what is recommended to do is to clean the mobile screen with alcohol or the washcloth supplied with the protector. You shouldn´t use water I think...

You should definitely not use alcohol unless its heavily diluted or you can wear out the oleophobic coating on the screen. A wet application with water i think is fine, everyone does it, cant seem to figure out why i have this problem.

For all the people that have bubbles/ lint /dirt / fingerprints behind their screen protector from a fumble or rushed / botched install. here is your salvation!
It is a little known fact that *most* of the screen protectors are completely washable. The "sticky" side wont wash off or smear or in any way ruin.
1. Peel it off
2. Run under water and use your hand to remove lint, dirt specs, smudges ect.
3. Hold by the corner tightly (little as possible) with an absorbant towel and shake vigorously in front of a fan or air purifier (better) until completly dry.
NOTE. Slowly air drying will leave water spots from impurities in the water. Purified water may solve this problem.
4. clean screen
5. reapply protector CAREFULLY THIS TIME!!!
6. and, repeat if necessary for perfect clean lay.
there is nothing i find more annoying than a bubbled screen. i got a perfect lay on my third attempt. first got botched by an incomming call, then got lint in there.. you know, life..
hope this helps some people. spread the word.
I know the feeling, I live in a dusty old house, and it is almost impossible to get a protector on there without some mote of dust landing.

Another tip use scotch tape to peel off the screen protector and remove dust particles from the sticky side of the screen protector.

Heh, nice tips, had this issue when i owned an iPhone 3Gs.
Some other tips that work for me.
Instead of water, get an alcohol screen cleaner wipe as it will clean and dry quickly.
If you are in a dusty environment, go into the bathroom and run the shower on hot to create alot of steam, this will remove most of the dust from the air.

ive had a few screen protectors, never had one that, suggested that...
and no not everyone knows about it.
the shower works great for my apt, theirs not much airflow going on so theirs a bunch of dust but the shower does the trick.
Ive also found that the secret to applying screen protectors

I tried the squeegee method, had no bubbles but I had dried water spots underneath when it dried. the water here has a lot of minerals in it.

Hi guys I bought a screen protector for my DHD but i severly messed up the installation and i now have quite a lot of small dust in between the protector and the phone screen.
i plan on just leaving the protector on this way as I seriously cannot be bothered to go out and buy another one and get a professional to do it for me. I may end up changing it after a few monthes time
however could the pieces of dirt/dust between the protector end up scratching the screen? I think im being a bit paranoid. Many thanks
Theoretically possible but unlikely as the way scratches happen is caused by the movement of these particles along the surface of the screen. If the screen protector doesn't move around the phone, and it really shouldn't even with not being completely clean to start with, then pressing normally on a screen to type etc should have no effect.

Unless you've got the dust particles trapped in an air pocket. Then movement / scratching is a possibility.
Search for the one link/post with tips on installing a screenprotector - especially the section about using a piece of adhesive tape to remove dust under the screen protectors.
It was posted to front page of xda about 2 weeks ago if i remember right.

when i install mine, i bought 3pcs, just to be sure.
they did it wrong. screen has a tiny frame around and thus can not simply impose a film on top.

I've had issues with screen protectors in the past when I reapplied them. They would always not stick on properly or just look bad in general after the realignment. If the issue is not so big, do not reapply
We have an ivisishield on the wife's shift and i reapplied it no problem there was a few air pockets but they worked themselves out after a couple days. Didn't even use the spray that came with it.

It's not a big issue, but it's still kinda bothering me. I have another screen protector but it would be a waste to use it. Realook are high quality screen protectors so I dont think stickyness will be an issue, but dust might get in when i take it off..
EDIT: take a chance if you had it for a good price. Else, just leave it that way and wait until it starts to peel off

I decided to just save my extra screen protector and stick with my messed up one. Not a huge deal so it would be a waste to use a new one. Thanks for all the input.

I re-apply screen protectors all the time. I take them off the device and rinse the tacky side gently with running tap water and sometimes a little bit of hand soap. Then I lightly shake excess water off of the screen protector and re-apply with a plastic card covered with a lens rag. Any beading water between the screen and screen protector will squeeze out with some squeegee action from the card/rag combo, and just pat dry around the edges. There should be no dust and no bubbles this way. I've never had water damage or anything, it's just a tiny bit of water. Of course you should do all this with the device powered off just in case.
I wouldn't. Once you take them off and put them back on, they won't stick right. Unless you wanna be attacked by air bubbles in the protector, I'd say just leave it be.

By "reapply" you mean using the old protector? if so don't do it....
if the alignment is off that means your protector is too small, that usually happens with low quality ones. High-end ones will fits exactly.

LOL i changed something like 4 screen protector in almost 18 months and i was never able to make "bubble free". I always had little annoying bubbles

Generally I have had bad luck applying screen protectors after the first time. I put one on a phone not long ago, and it came out crooked. Wasted the protector in the end...
OK, I NEED to ask you this question: why on earth would anyone use a screen protector on a Gorilla Glass? Before Optimus 4X, I had Samsung Wave for two years - also protected with Gorilla Glass, and I never used any protection but a simple back cover. And guess what? Not a single scratch! I have a maltese dog, he ran across 4X HD numerous times, he even once stumbled upon it on the bed and the phone fell on the floor - guess what - no scratches :highfive:
So I would recommend you all - just buy a cover, or maybe a flip case, and it will be enough

Gorilla glass is nice but not perfect. My first gorilla glass phone was scratched on the second day of use. It wasn't in the same pocket as my keys and coin either. My gorilla glass tablet had zillions of micro scratches too, looked so cloudy in comparison to a screen-protected device. When my screen protector is getting cloudy I can just apply a new one...can't do that with naked gorilla glass.
I don't use those protectors anymore becuase the material is very often very cheap. All my protectors got soo many scratches so i "put it away" and now I don't get any scratches on my display.

Depends on the Screen Protector. Some are ok to re-apply, so are not. At minimum try to smooth out the air bubbles.
I thought I'd just do a poll, this really could apply to any phone so I put this poll in a popular phone forum section. I remember for my SGS2, it took 7 tries (ie 7 protectors) to get one on perfectly, ie no dust no bubbles whatsoever. That equated to a total wastage of $30+ before finally nailing one.
Just got a new phone (Note 2), bought the Steinheil Ultra Crystal. 1st one in the pack, about 10 pieces of dust. 2nd one in the pack, 3 pieces of dust. Total wastage, $18. FML
I have found if it's not on perfect 1st time, lifting it up to dab away dust with scotch tape introduces more dust.
Apply it in your bathroom with some steam generated by hot shower or crane.

What I find helpful is place the phone on a newspaper. Do not use cloth because it would only create cloth particles and sticking them onto your phone as your breath when applying the screen. In addition, wipe off the screen with a clean cloth dampened with a little ethyl alcohol. Allow the screen to dry and then use another cloth (the ones that come with your screen protectors) to wipe off. Make sure you do this under as much lighting as possible. Once you don't see any specs of dust on the screen start lining up the screen protector from one end of the phone so you know exactly how the screen looks on the phone. The final steps involve peeling off the cover and laying it on the screen. Do this slowly. Press down on the screen as you peeling off the cover. I would not peel off the screen and then stick it onto the phone. This will most likely increase your chance of getting minute dust particles sticking on the screen. Always check for dust on the screen as you go. If you see any, stop right away and blow it off and reapply. This method does not completely prevent the dust particles from sticking onto the screen protector but it will minimize it.
One. I clean the phone with my shirt and water. Clean it with the microfiber cloth. Peel about 1/8 inch off the screen protector, apply to phone slowly while removing film and use the card provided in screen protector box to flatten it our with bubbles. Any bubbles and I lift slightly and re apply. Easy peezy

Just bought a 100x screen protectors for $20 time to try this out
where I work, we have controlled rooms to avoid particulate in the materials, I tried in these rooms, and I can assure that it's better to do it in the shower (LOL)
Or you can buy one of these protectors that include an spray, it's completely safe to put on of these, even in the case you screw it up, you can remove it, and apply more spray and put the protector again.
(i will never buy a normal protector after use the ones with an spray included)
I use the hinge method, works first time most times even in a room with lots of dust.

Wow you are so lucky your screen didnt break! hope not to come off as patronising but these things break so easy....get that thing some protection man. Mine broke on its first fall.
I've wasted so many with specs of dust ruining it I do them all after I've had a shower while still naked and hot water running and it works every time.

I don't see how a screen protector saves a screen from smashing tho. Gorilla glass is good and I find the closer they are to the lcd the better smash protection.

Currently using a cheapo screen protector I bought from eBay for like a dollar.
Honestly, there's nothing to it.
Clean screen>Placement>Credit card to lightly remove air bubbles>Peel>Microfiber to remove any smaller bubbles.
Bam!
I've been using BestSkinEver for all my devices. Perfect application on first try everytime. That's probably the nature of wet application ones though.

I always use belkin ones, every time it goes on perfect.
Here's a tip if you are getting a lot of dust under it.
Take 2 sticky tapes and place one on the corner of the screen. Lift your protector up with one piece of tape and get that dusty ***** underneath it with the other one.
Also a very good tip! If you are experiencing a lot of dust in your environment whilst placing the protector. Place the protector in the bathroom after a long shower! No kidding!

I just got a refurbished Moto Z2 force. The screen has scratches on the topmost layer. I'm not able to get a hold of the shattershield lens and I've a few questions regarding what I should be doing further.
1. Can I replace the outermost layer with a spigen screen protector?
2. After peeling of the outermost layer, can I clean the residue of the adhesive with rubbing alcohol?
Any help will be appreciated.

2. I have not tried alcohol but I think it won't work, try some "Goo Gone" and you should be able to clean the residue off your screen. That is the method I used. You may need a heating gun to remove the shattershield, as the adhesive is very strong and won't come off easily.

I removed mine without a hot air gun. I would advise no one attempt to do it without a hot air gun. Goo gone, credit card and my finger did the trick to remove the in he says. When I initially saw all of the adhesive on my screen I started looking for a new phone.
I finally decided I was tired of the scratches and some deep gouge marks in my shatterproof shield. I purchased a Mr. Shield 2-Pack of tempered glass screen protectors and installed one last night. I did use a goo-gone type of adhesive remover to rid the screen of the leftover adhesive and then used alcohol to do a final cleaning before installation of the tempered glass screen protector. I only wish I would have done it sooner.
