Any recommendations on which are the best and HOW TO INSTALL them the easiest?

Dude, I'm pretty sure there is already a thread on this a few posts below... personally, I find eBay has the cheapest, and as long as you're careful in your application, they work great. I got one that reduces glare and doesn't collect fingerprints like the screen used to. They also have privacy screens, mirror screens, and more. Just depends on how much you pay. If you really have to have a perfect application of the screen and have the money, then get a screen protector at one of those little mall kiosks, where they are usually more than happy to put it on for you, the right way. It just tends to cost more than buying online.

You've got to make sure that your screen is absolutely clean and dustless. If there's dust, a bubble will form around the dust particle and no amount of pushing will get rid of the bubble. I use a lint free wipe (the kind sold for cleaning glasses or computer screens) as well as a piece of microfiber cloth to dry the screen off. Then I blow the screen clean with canned air. I make sure my hands are washed and I don't touch the screen protector directly. I find that even if I hold the screen protector by the edge only, I'll leave at least one speck of dust. Instead, I put a piece of scotch tape on the upper surface of the screen protector and use that as a handle to manipulate the protector while I install it.
I've also had luck carefully lifting off the protector with scotch tape and then sticking the corner of a lint free wipe in, sandwiched between the screen and the protector, to pull out that one last dust particle.

You can save them...use clear packing tape and secure it to a table sticky side up.
Take your screen protector that has the dust (the side that sticks to the screen) face down on the sticky take. Keep a hold of the screen protector by using scotch tape or similar...push down and just pull up...and repeat until the protector is clean and reapply to your phone.

Thats a great idea! Will this also remove finger prints?
I made the mistake of grabbing the sticky side out of frustration and put a nice smudge on it.
Yes it sure will. It will totally clean it off. The only thing that method can't fix are creases or bends.
This way, it'll save you from having to buy more screen protectors since those are still pretty new.

really doesn't matter what type of screen protector it is... I've always found that, Glass Cleaner, blow dryer, and a credit card always work best. Make sure your screen is clean, hold your phone about half of an arms length away, spray the cleaner so there's a light mist of it on the phones screen. Place the screen protector, and the cleaner should give you a bit of play before it's set, get where you want it, use the credit card to remove any air bubbles, and the blow dryer will help dry what little cleaner is left behind the screen protector... I've had my Realook on late November. It's still in excellent condition. I occasionally use scotch tape on one corner to lift it up and remove what little dust collects around the edges.
Another trick I know of is to apply the SP in the bathroom after running the shower on hot for a few minutes. It gets a lot of moisture in the air and causes dust to settle for a bit. Combine that with an impeccably clean screen, careful application (with latex or nitrile gloves if you got some), and a good squeegee and you'll be tip-top.

For those of you with the realook protector, are you having any problems with the proximity sensor on the phone? There's reviews on amazon stating that the realook covers the entire front face of the phone (including the little proximity sensor in the top left). Apparently, this makes it impossible for the phone to tell when it's up to your ear during calls, and subsequently the screen stays dark no matter what you do. Can anyone else confirm this issue, and does your realook screen protector cover just the rectangular lcd screen, or the entire front glass face of the phone?

no, but they do provide a lifetime warranty on your invisibleshield...if anything happens, you send it back and they'll send you a new one free of charge
I love my invisible shields and i put one on every device I won

the invisibleshield has a cutout for the sensor, not sure about the realook one

I have no cut out for the sensors and it covers the entire glass. I've never had problems with the proximity sensor.
However, I do remember reading that they changed their template and that the newer version isn't as good. Might want to look into that before buying.
yeah with ZAGG, you pay a premium, but it also contains the pieces to cover the back and sides of the phone. This + the tmobile clear hard shell case is quite the combo to a protected phone
ive found the screen protectors from BestSkinEver are literally the bestever! haha...but seriously, they are amazing and feel like a soft gel when it completely dries and you'll hafto wait till it completely dries to see how amazing the skin looks. if done carefully (the site provides detailed instructions - water and a tiny bit of soap is needed), you'll have the clearest skin you could want! good luck!

I wouldn't...
I've had issues with screen protectors in the past when I reapplied them. They would always not stick on properly or just look bad in general after the realignment. If the issue is not so big, do not reapply
We have an ivisishield on the wife's shift and i reapplied it no problem there was a few air pockets but they worked themselves out after a couple days. Didn't even use the spray that came with it.

It's not a big issue, but it's still kinda bothering me. I have another screen protector but it would be a waste to use it. Realook are high quality screen protectors so I dont think stickyness will be an issue, but dust might get in when i take it off..
EDIT: take a chance if you had it for a good price. Else, just leave it that way and wait until it starts to peel off

I decided to just save my extra screen protector and stick with my messed up one. Not a huge deal so it would be a waste to use a new one. Thanks for all the input.

I re-apply screen protectors all the time. I take them off the device and rinse the tacky side gently with running tap water and sometimes a little bit of hand soap. Then I lightly shake excess water off of the screen protector and re-apply with a plastic card covered with a lens rag. Any beading water between the screen and screen protector will squeeze out with some squeegee action from the card/rag combo, and just pat dry around the edges. There should be no dust and no bubbles this way. I've never had water damage or anything, it's just a tiny bit of water. Of course you should do all this with the device powered off just in case.
I wouldn't. Once you take them off and put them back on, they won't stick right. Unless you wanna be attacked by air bubbles in the protector, I'd say just leave it be.

By "reapply" you mean using the old protector? if so don't do it....
if the alignment is off that means your protector is too small, that usually happens with low quality ones. High-end ones will fits exactly.

LOL i changed something like 4 screen protector in almost 18 months and i was never able to make "bubble free". I always had little annoying bubbles

Generally I have had bad luck applying screen protectors after the first time. I put one on a phone not long ago, and it came out crooked. Wasted the protector in the end...
OK, I NEED to ask you this question: why on earth would anyone use a screen protector on a Gorilla Glass? Before Optimus 4X, I had Samsung Wave for two years - also protected with Gorilla Glass, and I never used any protection but a simple back cover. And guess what? Not a single scratch! I have a maltese dog, he ran across 4X HD numerous times, he even once stumbled upon it on the bed and the phone fell on the floor - guess what - no scratches :highfive:
So I would recommend you all - just buy a cover, or maybe a flip case, and it will be enough

Gorilla glass is nice but not perfect. My first gorilla glass phone was scratched on the second day of use. It wasn't in the same pocket as my keys and coin either. My gorilla glass tablet had zillions of micro scratches too, looked so cloudy in comparison to a screen-protected device. When my screen protector is getting cloudy I can just apply a new one...can't do that with naked gorilla glass.
I don't use those protectors anymore becuase the material is very often very cheap. All my protectors got soo many scratches so i "put it away" and now I don't get any scratches on my display.

Depends on the Screen Protector. Some are ok to re-apply, so are not. At minimum try to smooth out the air bubbles.
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know of any product that will allow me to successfully cover up a small crack on the screen near the earpiece (see attachment)?
I've tried the cheap self-adhesive screen protectors from eBay and the screen protector won't adhere to the cracked portion as it is raised i.e. the cracked portion is not at the same level as the rest of the glass.
Any ideas?
the problem is that is a glass, you could use displex, but that only good to fix scratches
Could you try sanding it smooth, then using some quality compound and polish to get a good finish again?

i wonder if you can go to a glass or windshield place to get them to fill it in for you. they can fill chips and cracks on a car windshield but not sure if they can do a job that small or if the glass is too different. even if they cant make it perfect it will save you from having to buy a new screen soon since that glass is now compromised and will start to spiderweb even if you dont drop it again.
I think a mirror screen protector will hide the crack.
I cringed a little when I saw that picture. Really sorry for you there, hopefully a wet screen protector will reduce the look. I'd suggest XOskins for any wet app ones.
Ouch. Dude I don't think I'd call it small... wet screen protector will fill in a scratch, its the only reason I have a screen protector on mine. But a) that's a big uneven crack, not a scratch. And b) I would think twice about using a wet install on that, liquid would surely make its way in(not a whole lot but still). No insurance?

I thought I'd just do a poll, this really could apply to any phone so I put this poll in a popular phone forum section. I remember for my SGS2, it took 7 tries (ie 7 protectors) to get one on perfectly, ie no dust no bubbles whatsoever. That equated to a total wastage of $30+ before finally nailing one.
Just got a new phone (Note 2), bought the Steinheil Ultra Crystal. 1st one in the pack, about 10 pieces of dust. 2nd one in the pack, 3 pieces of dust. Total wastage, $18. FML
I have found if it's not on perfect 1st time, lifting it up to dab away dust with scotch tape introduces more dust.
Apply it in your bathroom with some steam generated by hot shower or crane.

What I find helpful is place the phone on a newspaper. Do not use cloth because it would only create cloth particles and sticking them onto your phone as your breath when applying the screen. In addition, wipe off the screen with a clean cloth dampened with a little ethyl alcohol. Allow the screen to dry and then use another cloth (the ones that come with your screen protectors) to wipe off. Make sure you do this under as much lighting as possible. Once you don't see any specs of dust on the screen start lining up the screen protector from one end of the phone so you know exactly how the screen looks on the phone. The final steps involve peeling off the cover and laying it on the screen. Do this slowly. Press down on the screen as you peeling off the cover. I would not peel off the screen and then stick it onto the phone. This will most likely increase your chance of getting minute dust particles sticking on the screen. Always check for dust on the screen as you go. If you see any, stop right away and blow it off and reapply. This method does not completely prevent the dust particles from sticking onto the screen protector but it will minimize it.
One. I clean the phone with my shirt and water. Clean it with the microfiber cloth. Peel about 1/8 inch off the screen protector, apply to phone slowly while removing film and use the card provided in screen protector box to flatten it our with bubbles. Any bubbles and I lift slightly and re apply. Easy peezy

Use the Hinge method
Just bought a 100x screen protectors for $20 time to try this out
where I work, we have controlled rooms to avoid particulate in the materials, I tried in these rooms, and I can assure that it's better to do it in the shower (LOL)
Or you can buy one of these protectors that include an spray, it's completely safe to put on of these, even in the case you screw it up, you can remove it, and apply more spray and put the protector again.
(i will never buy a normal protector after use the ones with an spray included)
I use the hinge method, works first time most times even in a room with lots of dust.
is it really possible to do it perfectly?

Wow you are so lucky your screen didnt break! hope not to come off as patronising but these things break so easy....get that thing some protection man. Mine broke on its first fall.
I've wasted so many with specs of dust ruining it I do them all after I've had a shower while still naked and hot water running and it works every time.

I don't see how a screen protector saves a screen from smashing tho. Gorilla glass is good and I find the closer they are to the lcd the better smash protection.

You guys should try out the SGP Curved Crystal... its freking amazing feels as if theres nothing on your screen.
I got my screen protector on first try...
Currently using a cheapo screen protector I bought from eBay for like a dollar.
Honestly, there's nothing to it.
Clean screen>Placement>Credit card to lightly remove air bubbles>Peel>Microfiber to remove any smaller bubbles.
Bam!
I've been using BestSkinEver for all my devices. Perfect application on first try everytime. That's probably the nature of wet application ones though.

I always use belkin ones, every time it goes on perfect.
Here's a tip if you are getting a lot of dust under it.
Take 2 sticky tapes and place one on the corner of the screen. Lift your protector up with one piece of tape and get that dusty ***** underneath it with the other one.
Also a very good tip! If you are experiencing a lot of dust in your environment whilst placing the protector. Place the protector in the bathroom after a long shower! No kidding!

I just recently got the Mini Guard protector 3 pack for like 10 bucks. I've never put a tablet protector on, and I've had issues with phone protectors, so I'm concerned.
How can I go about this so that I don't waste all three? Should I use tape to remove dust? Install with a hot shower running?
Also they gave me a two inch "tool" (squeegee thing) to install it... It is phone screen sized, so I doubt I can use it to help me. Why not give a wider one? Weird.

Well I no good like so i always take it to my local mobile shop who is used to installing this day in and day out and pay him some extra bucks.
To all those who say do it with hot shower running isnt that bad for your device if moisture can gather on the screen it will also on the other parts of the device which could harm it right ??

Having a hot shower running might be useful, but I don't think it's necessary. I've always just installed screen protectors for my phone in my room (which is fairly dusty) and it came out perfect every time.
I suggest either wrapping a bit of tape around one of your fingers or putting some at the back of a pen. When you put the screen protector on, don't peel the bottom layer away all at once. Peel off a little bit (maybe like an inch), then put it on your screen (which should be PRISTINE - if there's a single speck of dust then blow/wipe it off, your room should be bright) and then lay down the entire screen protector to see if the other end aligns properly. If it doesn't, then you can just lift it up easily and realign the sticky edge. Once you're satisfied with the alignment, peel off the rest of the plastic while using the squeegee to push down the protector as you go. If you hit a dust particle (which will be visibly apparent as a bubble with a tiny dot in the middle), lift up the protector and use your tape finger/pen to remove it (if the dust is on the protector). If the dust is on the screen, just blow or wipe it off, and avoid touching the screen itself with the tape, as this might leave residue that is hard to remove. Also, avoid touching the protector with any sort of cloth you may use to wipe the screen as this will leave a bunch of dust on the protector that will piss you off to no end. If you hit a normal air bubble (with no dust), you can ignore it if you want, as you can use the squeegee to remove it later.

I've got the MiniGuard matte finish protector on my 8013. Chose it for dry install and anti-glare reasons. Only prep I did was to clean the screen with glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth. After that, just follow the instructions...no special room, running shower, etc needed for success.

I like it alot. I had put a dry install, non-glare matte on my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus previously to make reading outdoors easier. With the Note I was also concerned with using the S-Pen on the bare screen. The Note's S-Pen and this screen protector seem to "play nice" together.
