Cant flash any new rom placed in SD card! [SOLVED]

Hey guys, I need some help. After I have flashed CM 11, I decided to move on and flash the PA rom. However, after that, I wanted to go back to MiUi. Hence, I put the .zip file into my SD card and flashed it, only getting Status 7 error. I googled and followed the steps to fix it, but to no avail. I then only had the option to restore from a backup of MiUi. Now, I wanna flash PuRe Performance Rom and I just get an installation abortion when "Installing Update". No other details were present. Is this a problem with my SD card? Or the rom? Or just my phone? And how can I fix it? Please help as I have no OS on my phone now. :crying:

try flashing TWRP recovery n go for flashing rom

If u on using TWRP recovery then use Philz recovery this will solve ur problem.

By mistake thanked ur post....as said try flashing it with philz recovery.

Its quite possible that the file u downloaded is corrupt check the MD5 of the file.

Download MIUI ROM form here if you already don't have it ►MIUI GLOBAL ROM ◄
Download Philz Recovery & boot into it ► Philz Recovery Download Thread ◄
** if you are not able to copy zip files into your sd using mtp
1] First boot into philz recovery
2] wipe evrything (cache, dalvik, system, data) then go back to main
3] Install zip
4] install zip from sideload
5] connect phone to pc/lappy
6] open cmd where you have your adb & fastboot & the downloaded MIUI ROM files.
7] type in cmd

adb sideload ZIPNAME.zip
7] hope it gets flashed!!
** if you are able to copy files to sd using mtp in recovery then
1] by now you'd be in recovery
2] mount mtp
3] copy MIUI Global ROM
4] unmount mtp
5] wipe everything (cache, dalvik, system, data) then go back to main
6] Install zip
7] install zip from sdcard/sdcard1 (select where you have copied the ROM)
8] select the ROM/
9] flash it
10] hope it gets flashed!!

Buddy did you see that the zip you are trying to flash is not a flashable rom but it looks like a backed up rom...there's no META-INF folder & the System is packed inside tar.

try restoring it....
Extract it in TWRP's backup folder where you have other backed up ROM, remember to extract inside a folder and name it.
For TWRP Recovery ► /External SD/TWRP/BACKUPS/*you will see a folder named randomly*/*inside random folder create another folder & name it something different*/*extract the zip files in your created folder*
if you're using philz tick twrp mode in misc nandroid settings in the back & restore section

Instruction
Put the zip file into internal memory, then Install from updater, choose twrp287.zip or u can rename it first as update.zip then install from updater

I agree. It may look nice but it's sluggish, buggy and is a pain in the butt to unlock its lockscreen. Regular TWRP is a billion times better

I used this TWRP about 2 months without any problems, almost on a daily basis.
Countless of backup/restores...
It is necessary only to turn off the screen timeout in settings, like in all versions of TWRP's.

This recovery working normaly with me.

I use this recovery since I've got my phone ( 2 mounths) and it works perfectly ! Backup/Restore works everytime, you can change the unlock method or just disable the time-out... Easy root mean that the recovery see when you have an un-root ROM and when you choose Restart System will ask you to flash SuperSU ( ex: MIUI Stable ROM ).

I use that recovery and backup and restore works fine for me.

Hmm wait, i remember,i had mounted system partition before i restore my backup, mount system partition is buggy if i want to flash / restore something maybe :/

If for other working the restore system I think you have a problem with your device, but now I wanna try, give confirm tomorrow

This is my favorite recovery on my Redmi Note 2.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

I can't extract this recovery through Android Kitchen :/ it says the format using "data"

Followed the instructions but every time I try to install it I get the following error (see picture)
I'm on MIUI Global 7.1.1.0 (LHMMICK) Stable.
What am I doing wrong?

The best way is to flash it using SP Flash ! I've flashed it like this and I never loss my TWRP recovery !

But do I have to unzip the file first to get the scatter file in to SP Flash?

I've used this ( 7.0.8.0 fastboot ). I don't know, maybe they are all the same

* Mi PC Suite (for the drivers)
* ADB Fastboot Tool
* materialized_twrp287_hermes.img
rename it into recovery.img & move it to ADB Fastboot Directory.
Connect your phone
MSDOS :
Change directory to ADB Fastboot directory
adb reboot fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
disconnect & reboot by press power + vol up.

I think I have bricked my phone?

After a lot of messing about I managed to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP but now it won't boot into the system, TWRP boots into recovery fine, but when trying to boot in system it just idles on this screen.

Have you installed the official 32 twrp or the 64 bit twrp? have you formatted user data yet in TWRP? if not do a full wipe then flash ROM, GAPPs and reboot

Stock rom will not boot if you flash TWRP & select to modify system as clearly explained in my twrp thread
All you need to do is select install then select storage on bottom left - select the storage location you have placed your super user zip
If you haven't got one just connect phone to PC whilst in recovery mode & transfer it over
Or
Format system data cache then reboot to recovery & then flash a custom rom
Also your twrp is out of date - I suggest going to my twrp thread unless you flashing the lineageos 15.1 64bit version then you need the twrp from that thread that supports 64bit rom flashing

thanks for the reply, i managed to get the phone back on stock firmware, so i will follow these comments and double check everything and get the new TWRP thanks again.

You need to goto
Wipe
Select format data (option on the right)
Reboot to recovery
Select wipe
Advance wipe
Wipe system data cache delvik/art cache
Install
Select rom zip
Install
Select gapps zip (I recommend nano gapps)
Install
Select su add on zip
Wipe art/dalvik cache
Restart
If you still get error 7 you may need to remove the get prop details from the rom zip updater script

A guide for how to install Lineage OS [ GSI ] on Samsung A10 A105F
Notes / Warning!

Make sure to backup your important data before everything.
here is a summary of the steps I am going to show
you in this guide:
1. unlock bootloader
2. flash root file for magisk.
3. install magisk (app)
4. flash TWRP recovery via flashify app
5. install the rom with twrp
6. install gapps

1. unlock bootloader:
Enable Developer Options: go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
Enable OEM unlock ( Settings -> Developer options )
How to Enter Download Mode:
Enter Download Mode ( Turn Power off the phone, Press and hold Volume Down + Volume Up keys together then while pressing these keys connecting the phone to PC with USB Cable Data, release all keys when Download Mode appears ).
Unlock Bootloader: In Download Mode you see the long-press Vol Up option to enter Device Unlock Mode. Unlock the bootloader ( that will wipe your device so be sure to backup of your data )
Read the description on the Unlock Bootloader screen then use Volume Up to select “YES” to confirm and “No” to cancel unlock bootloader and restart the phone.
After Bootloader unlock, the phone will reboot and make sure the phone connected to the internet or triggers KG State / RMM State Prenormal.
Setup the phone without google account etc.
The Bootloader are unlocked!
2. flash root file:
enter download mode ( see instructions above here )
flash the file in Odin ( choose PDA, select the file and the start )
3. install magisk:
install magisk.apk (download link above here > and then follow the instructions in the app (the app will ask once for reboot).
now you root!
4. flashing twrp:
install flashify app ( link above )
open the app and accept root permission.
navigate to flash choose recovery image to select the twrp file and then flash.
now you have twrp recovery
5. flash the rom:
move the rom file you downloaded to sdcard (preferred) or to internal storage.
reboot to recovery ( in flashify app you can select reboot recovery )
choose to wipe > format data > type yes and start.
select wipe > advanced wipe > choose :
Dalvik / art cache
cache
data
wipe to wipe.
go to install > install image > nevigate to lineage os file > select > install as system image.
go to wipe > wipe to factory reset.
6. install gapps
move the gapps file you downloaded to internal storage / sdcard
in twrp select install > navigate to gapps file > install > swipe to install.
go to reboot > system > choose do not install (twrp) > the phone will reboot
wallah ! you have installed lineage os on your phone!
Troubleshoot:
when i install the gapps, have error 70!

After installing root; the phone is not running samsung official software.
And android does not start.
version 64 does not work, only 32.

Followed this same root guide and after flashed linage os 17.1 a64_bvN type with recovery. It worked successfully.
Despite not having service ,in the place im in right now, it also works. Both SIM cards work

I successfully installed Linage OS 17.1 on my SM-A105FN.
Everything works, except face-unlock and nfc.
But that is fine and I can wait for a future update that might fix it.

I updated my phone via ota to 10.0
I guess cant downgrade use a lower version, or yes?

Might work but are you a little tech savvy? Because it's quite a long process and took me a day to complete.
Because of all the bootloops and reflashing and so on.
If it's not an issue I'll be happy to help out

install correct gsi image or gapps
Samsung Galaxy A10 is arm32 binder64-ab type (even though in the treble check app is says a only)
and make sure you factory reset after flashing rom. and BEFORE installing gapps

Thank you for the port, awesome job!
In my opinion it needs some improvements, like in sound, we lost quality, and maximum volume in respect to stock one.
Also the notification bar gets a small black bar in the top, stock one was using all the edges.
And maybe a little hand in some animations that runs randomly not smooth.
Apart from that, i think its a really good and stable ROM.
Any ideas in how to safely root, and maybe add it Viper4Android or some audio lib?

Restore Stock google play store

I have rooted my phone and was using greenify. I also greenified play services and so play store stopped working. So I uninstalled every google service/app.
How can I restore the stock play store and google services that came with phone? They are stored somewhere inside the phone I guess.

Download micro Gapps according to your phone's Android version and specifications.
Flash the downloaded zip using recovery and The problem is solved.

@ai.Sanual Can I flash pico gapps for play store only? I just need google play store to install and update apps.
I don't need any background service. I will update them as and when needed.

As it said failed to set-up open Gapps, there may be problem with TWRP. Please use latest TWRP recovery compatible with your phone and also confirm that you downloaded right zip file for your phone.
Drop Your Phone's specs so I can give you correct links.

Samsung J2 Pro 2016 2GB Ram- Android 6. I used this Nano Gapps using install zip button in TWRP.

pico zip is correct but use this version of TWRP here
Also first root your phone by install Magisk v23 zip and then install the Magisk v23 apk file manually. (files attached below)
Then flash gapps zip, you can unroot after installation of gapps zip by tapping uninstall button in Magisk apk you installed before.

I have already rooted through supersu. Should I unroot first or can I directly install magisk? I didn;t get it though why magisk is required. Gapps can be flashed directly using TWRP, no?

I got these errors and super su also is not working now.

even flashing super su is also not working now. I only need to restore boot partition. System partition I don't want to change. Is it at all possible?
Where can I get the stock boot partition? Will my smartphone start if I restore only stock boot partition without restoring stock system partition?

have you installed the recovery i said to install?
unroot super su first then install magisk, btw
try after putting all zip files in internal storage before installation
stock boot image of your phone here you can flash it through TWRP. your phone will start sure.
