Mates, sorry for another question on this topic, I'm a very newbie and I couldn't orieent in this mess...
I Have an I-mate (still not able to understand whether it's an Andes or Alpine... BTW, what's the difference?)
I tried to connect via bluetooth both to the car handset and to a GPS receiver, but other than bonding the device, no connection was started.
I realize I have to upgrade something, and being extremely prudent in doing so.
I read in some place I need to upgrade to WM5, some other post referring to update Bluetooth but referring to many different stacks.
- Rom Version 1.66.00WWE
- ROM date 02/20/04
- Radio Version 1.1.10
- Protocol Version 1337.18
- ExtROM version 1.66.131
- Microsoft PowerPC V 4.20.0 (build 13252)
- Processor Intel PXA 263
Any help and pointer to files and instruction how to upgrade would be extremely appreciated
I don't have Bluetooth stereo headphones, so what's the alternative quick way of finding out whether the ROM has A2DP? Does the radio version tell us something? (The latest is 1.11, I think.)
EDIT: What I've noticed so far is that all A2DP ROMs have the 1.1x Radio Stack.

No, the radio version has nothing to do with A2DP. This function is provided by the System Operating ROM that Microsoft releases.
Regarding your second statement, the only ROMs so far that I know of with A2DP and AKU2 support is QTEK's latest ROM with radio 1.09.00 and Jwright's Modified ROMs. So your theory that A2DP have radio 1.1x is wrong. Of course, you can change the radio version to whatever you want. Maybe, you got hold of a copy of the QTEK ROM bundled with radio 1.1x, but the OFFICIAL QTEK release is bundled with radio 1.09.00. It does not affect A2DP support no matter what radio version you are using anyway.
and newest dutch tmobile (which has english language)
cktlcmd: Thanks for the info. Well, I've just ordered a Jabra BT620s so I will find out which has what.
OH, and I've never tried any Qtek ROM - I've heard that the i-mate ROMs are more stable.
Hi all
Been readiing through the forum/site on the upgrading of ROm etc.
Q) The ROm reading on my UNiversal is at 1.30.111WWE, which seems to be higher than is mentioned for upgrading purposes. Would I then need to do any upgrade if I was to download the blue tooth a2dp patch?
Which leads me to my main qustion;
Q) Where can I get the bluetooth a2dp patch from?
WOuld anyone be able to assist?
cheers
A2DP is built into most of the new roms.
Download one of the newer roms and a2dp should just be there.
Does anyone know how to make the Broadcomm/Widcomm bluetooth stack work under WM6.5 (I am getting this under build 23518, and haven't tried any other versions of WM6.5, device is Asus A626 pocket pc)? I keep getting message in both the settings manager and the initial bluetooth manager about a missing component or resource. What component could it be referencing, and how can I fix it?

Define the ver of your broadcomm. Normally my old stack (original) from wm6.0 works without issues in 6.5 builds. It's 1.7.1.9701 as far as I remember

You mean - to make my stack applicable for BT MS devices? No, that does not work. It's OEM hardware driver.

Looking for best reception/battery life ratio...
