[Q] A2SDGUI not working on rooted Desire

I have installed the LeeDroid ROM v3.3.3 Port R5 on my Desire and I downloaded the A2SDGUI app from the market. But it gives an error saying phone is not rooted (which it obviously is) or A2SD scripts not found or ext partition not found. How do I make this app run on my phone? I have Superuser installed and A2SDGUI is given permission. Kindly help.
Thanks in advance!
Did you configure your SD Card with a FAT32 and an EXT partition?
Yes I did. I have followed all instructions given for LeeDroid's ROM properly. I used GParted Live CD to make the FAT32 partition and a 1gb ext3 partition on my SD card.
Followed guide on Leedroid thread to get A2SD working?
You know a2sdGUI only works with Dark Tremor a2sd scripts? I dont think leedroid uses Dark Tremor.
@Matdroid
Before installing LeeDroid I had created the ext3 partition. I presume A2SD is working because my apps are installed to the ext3 partition and not in the internal memory. Do I have to do anything else?
@rootsu
Then A2SDGUI wont work on my phone?

Not right now. Not without the Dark Tremor a2sd+ Solution in place.
If you followed leedroid guide for A2SD+, you don't need A2SDGUI.
SwiftKeyed from CyanogenMod with Transparent XDA App
The only reason I was looking for the A2SDGUI was to try to move the dalvik cache to ext partition. Or is it already in the ext partition in LeeDroid ROM? I dont know.
Also inspite of having a ext partition my internal memory is getting reduced bit by bit with every app that I install. I thought I had got rid of the 'lack of internal memory to install apps' problem by having an ext partition. What data is occupying the internal memory now?

Apps still take up the space on Internal memory. Thats the way it is.
You have to flash the dalvik cache script in the leedroid thread, post 1
Like Mat said, if you read the thread, you would know the answer.
I have downloaded the 'move dalvik to sd.zip' file from LeeDroid's thread. I read somewhere that A2SDGUI also does the job so I wanted to try it out. I guess I will just flash the zip now. Thanks for your replies.

As stated many times, A2SDGUI does the work... with DarkTremor's script, but Leedroid's ROM does not have it.
This place can be so much hard work sometimes

Appreciate all you guys taking the trouble of answering my questions. I really have very little knowledge of rooting and stuff. Just venturing in this field. So far I have managed to read the guides posted here and root and install a custom ROM. Now trying to understand dalvik cache and stuff.
Thanks once again.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 7.2 simple2ext or darktremor help

Hey Guys i just installed Cyanogenmod 7.2 on my Gio today. Its amazing and very stable. I first flashed cwm recovery then the rom, then gapps and then the patchv4 afterwards.
Since i cant post in the developers section due to less amount of posts, can anyone tell me what is a2sdtremor and simple2ext about? All i need is something that i can move anything to the sd card and keep more ram and internal memory free, should i install a2sdtremor or simple2ext from the cyanogenmod 7.2 thread? can anyone give me a detailed guide to install it and can i still make ext2 partition and install a2sdtremor or simpleext on this rom or i have to flash the rom again? A Detailed answer about making the partition and installing a2sd tremor or s2ext whichever is better will be appreciated.
Those are scripts that can make a ext4 partition on your sd card, look like internal memory. I recommend simple2ext

so i would have to make ext2 partition manually from pc first then flash cm 7.2 or i dont need to flash again? Can you explain briefly.

It can be buggy if you partition the SD Card from recovery, you need a card reader for this job, btw don't even think to partition when the SD Card is mounted on PC.
Thanks RacerBas and LegoGabi,
I actually do have card reader i can partition from that, what is the difference between ext2 and ext4? which one does simple2ext needs?
Just read in the CM 7.2 topic what partition needs.

Thanks guys i managed to do it with the ext4 partition. Now i have simple2ext enabled on my phone .
Mods can close this topic if they want.
go for s2e , it was especially developped for Cyanogenmod, so if you use CM 7 (7.1 or 7.2 --> s2e) if you want to use other roms than go for a2sd

[Q] Link2sd cannot create mount script after updating CM9 a.8 to a.9

Hello all, I've just updated from Cyanogenmod 9 alpha8 to alpha9. Now Link2sd won't create any mount script, be it ext2, ext3, or ext4. It also won't mount the secondary partition if I copied the old mount script from alpha 8 (/etc/init.d/11link2sd right?). My secondary partition is ext2. My phone is a gsm version with s-on.
Please help teh noob :silly: thanks!
Nvm, clean installed CM9 alpha9 with init2ext+. Everything running great.

I had it the same with CM10. For me format to ext3 helped. You have to try by CWM.

[Q] INT2EXT4+ - Same amount of internal memory

Hi all!
I just created an sd-ext partition (ext4) on my sd-card and flashed the INT2EXT4+ script, but it doesn't seem to work.
What I did:
- Go into recovery
- Mount /system
- Installed the INT2EXT4+ script from my sd-card
- Formatted the sd-ext partition
- Rebooted my phone
I've done this a couple of times, but I still have the same amount of internal memory as before I flashed the script. (Before using this script, I tried using Link2SD but that had the same problem..)
And yes, I have init.d enabled and busybox installed and the script is located in the init.d folder.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Btw, I'm using Maclaw's AOSP ICS Final 2.

Try partitioning in CWM. I got S2E to work on CM7 in this way.

I tried the script/app without repartitioning my SD-card via CWM (I did it via Minitool Partition Wizard, so I didn't have to format my sd-card first) and it still doesn't work.. Should repartitioning via CWM fix the problem?
And btw, in the app description it says "Works on Cyanogenmod........". Since I'm not using Cyanogenmod, this app shouldn't even work, right?
Sorry if I'm being dumb now... :/
Sorry but I don't know if it works on CM rom. Others may know the answer.
I also tried Minitool Partition Wizard but the phone didn't relaize the partition. Then, I tried CWM and it worked.

[Q] Wildfire S SD partition/link2sd problems

Firstly I have read through every thread I can find with same problem but cannot solve this.
I have been partitioning a 16gb microsd card to be able to use Link2sd to move apps for more memory
The first partition is around 15gb Fat32 Primary
but it is the second partition I am having problems with ?
1gb Primary ext 2/3/4 and Fat32 I have tried them all and I still get the mount script error. In link2sd the scond partition is not mounted and does not show up at all in settings/storage or about phone/partition info
Android version 4.2.2
Kernel version 2.6.35.15-OWL-predator-v2.0 -gdb5e2e5-dirty
Cyanogen Mod CM10.1 release candidate v2.1 (owl project)
I bought this phone second hand with cyanogen mod already installed and fully rooted
Please help :fingers-crossed:
Here you go,

Greetz,
I have managed to work my way through this thread and maybe I should try another like mount2sd first then Link2sd like Mikeyd125 posted
"For some custom roms and some phones like samsung galaxy ace plus gt-s7500. Partitioning the memory card using either the method above or using system recovery will not work as Link2sd is unable to create the mount script for the 2nd partition created.
An app from google play called Mount2SD is the solution as it has most of the mount scripts needed. However on installing it, it will uninstall link2sd.
once installed Mount2sd, install startup binaries and set the driver to EXT4.
Reboot phone.
Install Link2SD, create mount script using EXT4 and it will say ' success mount script created'
Leave Mount2SD installed as you have further functionality with it and it is required to manage the 2nd partition.
I searched for this solution a long time, so I thought I would share it "
Do you think this is worth trying ?
