[Q] INT2EXT4+ - Same amount of internal memory - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Hi all!
I just created an sd-ext partition (ext4) on my sd-card and flashed the INT2EXT4+ script, but it doesn't seem to work.
What I did:
- Go into recovery
- Mount /system
- Installed the INT2EXT4+ script from my sd-card
- Formatted the sd-ext partition
- Rebooted my phone
I've done this a couple of times, but I still have the same amount of internal memory as before I flashed the script. (Before using this script, I tried using Link2SD but that had the same problem..)
And yes, I have init.d enabled and busybox installed and the script is located in the init.d folder.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Btw, I'm using Maclaw's AOSP ICS Final 2.

Try partitioning in CWM. I got S2E to work on CM7 in this way.

I tried the script/app without repartitioning my SD-card via CWM (I did it via Minitool Partition Wizard, so I didn't have to format my sd-card first) and it still doesn't work.. Should repartitioning via CWM fix the problem?
And btw, in the app description it says "Works on Cyanogenmod........". Since I'm not using Cyanogenmod, this app shouldn't even work, right?
Sorry if I'm being dumb now... :/

Sorry but I don't know if it works on CM rom. Others may know the answer.
I also tried Minitool Partition Wizard but the phone didn't relaize the partition. Then, I tried CWM and it worked.

Alright, I'll try that soon then and post the result here!

S-OFF for SD ext?

Hi, I have a rooted myTouch 3G Slide running a custom mod (similar to stock with some tweaks) with S-ON
I wanted to be able to install my apps on the SD card and increase my internal memory with a 2nd partition on my SD card
I know everything on how to make the partition and the swap partition, how to format the partitions, how big to make them etc. I just want to ask:
DO I NEED TO HAVE S-OFF TO BE ABLE TO DO IT?
i recently tired very hard to do it using the Rom Manager and Link2SD as well as some other techniques such as making the partitions myself and using A2SD script with the A2SDGUI application. With just using Link2SD, i got an error that saied it cannot allocate the memory when I tried to create the boot script and when I used the A2SD script, it said that my apps were being sent to the sd card but when i rebooted, all of the apps i linked to the SD were gone and i was not able to get them back.
I've tried looking around the forums and on google but i have not been able to find a definitive answer to my question. Does my device need S-OFF or will I be able to do this with S-ON?
Thank you in advance.
bumpity?
I believe you do
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893706
actually, you don't need S-OFF to move your apps to the ext partition on your sd card. I haven't used any of the apps on market/play store myself, i've always just run the DTApp2SD script. Let me know if you need the zip for that.
@morphuex: the link you provided is for custom MTD, it will allow you to resize your phone's inner storage to fit your need, which does require S-OFF.
Oh, thought that what he was asking, must of read it wrong. :silly:
I've tried to apply dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04 to my device running CM9 beta 3 (Jun 21 2012) version and got unbootable device. It started and got stuck at the white T-mobile screen before CM9 animation.
Maybe this was caused by having s2e installed on the device which was used to move data to sd-ext partition. So just be careful and make a prior backup just in case.
By the way, does anybody know why I get an error message like 'unable to mount /sd-ext partition. unsupported by your device' while i'm trying to make a nandriod backup using CWM recovery?

yes, it means you don't have an sd-ext. if you do it will mount it. it will say the same error on anything that does a backup.
you do not need s-off to move apps to a created sd-ext. when my mt3gs was my daily phone i used simple2ext to manage my sd-ext. worked fine. i was using cm7.2.

This is not quite right. I had /sd-ext partition already created when I tried to make a backup. I did move there data & some apps using s2e app.
The same situation I experience right now. The ext partition does exist, but CWM doesn't mount it in backup process - "can't mount /dev/block/mmcblksomething (file already exists)" error.
Initially I partitioned my sd card using CWM. I created just ext partition only, no swap.
I use an unofficial CM9 beta4 build, rom manager version 5.0.0.8, recovery version 2.5.0.7. Should I try to flash more recent experimental version 2.5.1.4?

yeah, i duplicated that error just now. i fired up my old mt3gs and flashed the cm9 beta4. it does give that error and won't mount my sd-ext.
i honestly haven't read enough about the cm9 for this phone to give an informed answer, sorry. i know that if i flash my backup cm7.2 everything is fine. the only difference on my phone was the rom change. I did all this on rom manager 5.0.0.8, cwm recovery 2.5.0.7.
Thank you everyone for your contributions. i will try the DT app2sd script right now and will keep you guys informed on whether or nor i was able to do it. thank you!
I got a problem. i am unable to partition my SD because the version of CWM for my phone cannot do it..(it doesnt have the option to do it)
i tried doing it from rom manager but i get an error when i try to do it, saying the signature couldnt be verified.

ClockworkMod Touch 5.8.1.5 doesn't backup sd-ext (ext3) (CyanogenMod 7.2)

Hi guys!
I've just created an sd-ext partition to copy there my apps but i've noticed that ClockworkMod Touch 5.8.1.5 can't backup it (via Nandroid); it just says "No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext".
The sd-ext partition is on ext3 format and i've created it using Ubuntu (and Disk Utility).
The phone recognize the sd-ext without any problem. I've mounted and configured it using S2E.
I can even mount the sd-ext using Ubuntu.
I don't have a "mount /sd-ext" option under Clockworkmod.
I'm using CyanogenMod 7.2 on a HTC Desire HD.
I've googled a lot and seen that some people has the same problem but i haven't find a solution; usually they have an ext4 partition that isn't recognized.
Could it be because i've formatted using Ubuntu and not using ClockworkMod itself?
Thank you!
Have you tried asking here? good luck
Or you could try 4ext recovery.

Thank you! I'm going to post there too!
There are so many topics here that's not so easy to orientate
Edit: It seems like i can't post there because i've less than 10 posts
Any other suggestion about where to post?

A friend of mine suggested me that too. If i won't be able to fix the problem with ClockworkMod i'll give a try.
What i'm sorry about is that i've bought ClockworkMod Pro and ClockworkMod Revovery Touch too and i would like to keep using them...
What is the size of the partion you created
It's 2 Gb, with 256 Mb of swap.
Don't know if it matter but the order of partitions is: SdCard Fat32 - sd-ext ext3 - swap
As a conclusion, i've switched to 4EXT Recovery, that i've also used to re-format the sdcard and create an Ext4 sd-ext.
4EXT Recovery is able to backup my sd-ext without any problem!
I have noticed the same thing as well.
Its not only CWM that has the issue also the lastest 4EXT Lastest RC9 (RC8 doesn't have this issue) and TWRP has the same issue as well.

Running data2sd in cm 10

Hey guys, I recently flashed benjamingwynn's cm 10. I really liked the rom but the rom takes up a lot of space. My internal memory is very low, so even if I use link2sd I was only able to install some apps. Then I tried data2sd from the market. I created a storage file but when I try to mount it, there's nothing happening. Is there any way to make data2sd working? Should I follow any other steps?
Thanks in advance!

Data2sd from market? lol.
Data2sd is a script which is only flashed by installing from recovery or rom manager... Get cronmod int2ext+ script and flash it from recovery. It works pretty well.
I can only repeat sukhjit321, you have to flash it in recovery.
Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/?t1r06j60gybhn2t
Put it on your SD card, then install it from recovery just like a rom (delete cache partition and dalvik cache before).
Or try int2ext+ or something else, but you have to flash all of them in the recovery.

Yes, first make a FAT32 partition, and then an ext4 partition (the ext4 is going to be your internal memory, so make it as big as you want)

Use INT2EXT+ its easyer, faster, and reliable. Make a ext2 partition on your SD card using ether a Partition PC Program or a different method, i recommend using MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition and after you make the partition, re-install the ROM but dont start up the ROM now after you install the ROM install INT2EXT+ and now reboot your phone and your Internal Memory should be fine :good: You install the INT2EXT+ like you installed the ROM, just that first re-install the ROM then install the INT2EXT+
MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition Link: http://download.cnet.com/MiniTool-Partition-Wizard-Home-Edition/3000-2094_4-10962200.html
INT2EXT+: Attached
thanks
i did as you told me and i made it ext2 primary then i re-installed the rom and then i ran the script you gave me after installing gapps directly but it didnt work :'( :'( i tried to open link2sd but it said cannot mount script

Did you wipe cache partition? wipe data/factory reset? Download this other attachment I gave you. Then go to recovery, Go to wipe data/factory reset, the wipe cache partition then go to install zip from sdcard --> choose zip from sdcard --> SuperWipeMarvelcEdition it'll say that you should reboot your phone, dont reboot and go and install your ROM and after you installed it, install the INT2EXT2+ that i gave you! But do all that first, then after you did that, then you can start your ROM.
I tried everything for many hours, but every time I did a partition using PC the phone wouldn't read the card and in the end I just formatted the card to factory settings using the PC and tried the CWR partitioning, worked like a charm with Link2SD.

[Q] [RECOVERY] ClockworkMod Recovery [v6.0.4.8]

Hi all, I have a problem with the new CWM.
I trying to get functioned KK (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735775).
1. I have succesfully installed KK rom
2. I have succesfully installed gapps for KK rom
3. Now I want to get more internal memory using the int2ext+ script..but there is the problem..firstly I tried to install int2ext+ but when I rebooted I find out that internal memory is same as without metioned script, so I tried to install int2extV2+..again, no more space in internal memory..so I decided that there is a problem with "no partion"..I tried to find out in mentioned recovery where to partition the card, but I cannot find it, how to solve this problem please? And is necessary to reinstall rom etc. because of "non-succesfully flashed two int2ext scripts"?
Thanks
