I think the main problem is the Dalvik to ART change. AFAIK, no ROM supports ART.
What are your thoughts/opinions?

Given the limited postings, the age of the device - my thinking is that we last few souls are the end of the line. For me 2014 will be the last year for my G2 and will become my nike+ only device. According to gsmarena.com we t-mobile customers have the LG F3Q as the only device with LTE.....what a shame.

As long as it can be rooted, modded and ROMd, I dont care.
If the HD2 got Lollipop
So can we.

I understand at least the T-mobile variety has an unlocked bootloader, and we have root for all, so why aren't we seeing a bit more action in the development section(s)?
I am not a developer just an avid flasher, so I am not keen on what makes one platform more attractive to developers but it seems to be a very popular phone. If this is a dumb question, flame away...
Just wondering out loud...
thanks,

We could do that, I know jcase is having a bounty for the international version of the G3 (see thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/bounty-lg-g3-d855bootloader-unlocking-t2807900)
maybe we should get him a T-Mobile G3 and have him make a ROM.
It would be cool if the tmobile g3 begins rom development now until all other variants get their bootloader unlocked. That way we wont loose much time.
I bought this tablet with pleasure last week, and I saw how much "ROM" There are, in fact there are many!
I wanted to know, according to you in a year or two, the situation will be like? If there is any developer who reads these lines, what do you think? Svilupperesti for another year from now or hope for him?
Little Offtopic: I paid it € 215, is a good price?

Great price!
I'm not a developer, but I hope they'll continue to support this device for 1-2 mire years until it becomes obsolete.

Please contact LG if you own the tablet and ask them about Android L support. I have already done so and they only could say "no decision has been made at this time". The more of us that contact them and ask the question the better chance we have of seeing an Android L release of the stock software.

haha.. I actually work in the same business complex as LG (Englewood Cliff). I wonder if they'll take me lightly if I go there demanding android L.

Just tell them you represent XDA!
When I was contacting LG support for SD card bug, I asked if they are planning for android L, their response was that they will patch SD bug, but do not plan to upgrade android version...but who knows, we must believe. And if not, custom ROM will work
The Google Play Edition will ( or should) be upgraded, as the upgrade will fall into the respective timeframe that they allow for the support of gpe devices. Guess we'll see.

Do it for the team!
Seriously, though, while I think it's a must to nag LG about continuing support, I'm not sure there's enough of a user community to get LG's attention, unless their past track record of updates has changed . . . .
Okay, thanks to all for replies..
About unofficial rom what do you think?
Ps:I have send an email to LG for official update, but the reply is a standard "we don't know".

I see no way the 2015 X gets O officially. But it can be rooted so it will likely be available that way.

It isn't necessary!
Every Android devices can be rooted.
The device should be capable of the upgrade then only any official or unofficial ROMs can be made for it.

I believe that was my point. As for every Android device can be rooted, I'm sure there are examples of that not being so. Right now the Moto Z Force Droid cannot be rooted.
The Z Play get? Would be great
I don't really believe that article (yet).
It now also has a "(received)" behind some devices. Is Android O really already rolling out?!
Also there is not source of any kind provided...

Yup!
But maybe this is correct because Motorola have decided to give Android O to G4 plus and and G5 plus.
well...ill believe it when i see it. they also told us the droid ultra/maxx would be getting successive updates that never happened. know what we got instead? "here, have a discount towards a new phone"

And do you have a source for that information? Or did they just tell you?
Ok stop with these thread already. I know i'm upping the thread for you but this is non-sense.
Even if any Moto phone is getting android O, if at all, it's going to be more than a year from the RELEASE of android O anyway.
Look left. Do you see my avatar? Yeah, I'm gonna be like that before any of this happens.
vietkao, please click unsubcribe for all threads containing Android O in the title according to your statement for at least half a year and let others discuss what they want. It is known there can't be any facts at this time, but like the linked article says, there are valid speculations which devices could be eligible for the update. You may tell that it makes no sense at this time (I think it does, it may change my recommendations to friends and family which device to buy!) and then we may discuss this, but "stop the thread" is not appropriate. Thank you in advance
and XT1635-02 ???
@tute123456, you are aware that XT1635-02 is listed as Moto Z Play in the "probably supported devices list" in the OP, aren't you?

I found some info on the internet regarding stock Oreo-rom released in (some) parts of the world last year. :cyclops:
Is this true and if so, how come I can not find any downloads of this rom?

If that's true then how are people finding it difficult to buy it still?
XDA has sent RN8pro devices to many developers. Have patience and development will happen. Sources are also released already.

I don't understand this.
If you get in first try, it's a problem.
If you don't get in first try, it's a problem. Xiaomi is bad, they use this trick and so many complains.
If you getting in first try is equal to bad sales then you are outstanding analyst. ??
