I wanted to know, according to you in a year or two, the situation will be like? If there is any developer who reads these lines, what do you think? Svilupperesti for another year from now or hope for him?

I'm not a developer, but I hope they'll continue to support this device for 1-2 mire years until it becomes obsolete.

Please contact LG if you own the tablet and ask them about Android L support. I have already done so and they only could say "no decision has been made at this time". The more of us that contact them and ask the question the better chance we have of seeing an Android L release of the stock software.

Just tell them you represent XDA!
When I was contacting LG support for SD card bug, I asked if they are planning for android L, their response was that they will patch SD bug, but do not plan to upgrade android version...but who knows, we must believe. And if not, custom ROM will work
The Google Play Edition will ( or should) be upgraded, as the upgrade will fall into the respective timeframe that they allow for the support of gpe devices. Guess we'll see.

Seriously, though, while I think it's a must to nag LG about continuing support, I'm not sure there's enough of a user community to get LG's attention, unless their past track record of updates has changed . . . .
Okay, thanks to all for replies..
About unofficial rom what do you think?
Ps:I have send an email to LG for official update, but the reply is a standard "we don't know".

Dear XXXXXXXXX,
We are more than happy to be able to provide some clarity to the situation at hand.
Currently, our developers have to work with Verizon to determine when and if a ROM upgrade will be available. Unfortunately, there is no estimated time for availability of any ROM update. Please check the HTC America website for any software updates that may be released, http://www.htc.com/us. Just click on the support link then choose your device.
XXXXXXX, we do apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
To send a reply to this message or let me know I have successfully answered your question log in to our ContactUs site using your email address and your ticket number.

I only care because of source code & this is Verizon telling HTC not to update. It's fairly obvious that HTC had intentions of continued support.

I know it can be hard for people to justify taking 5 minutes to write an email they think is pointless but I would like to encourage you all to. Verizon will not change their mind but maybe we can get HTC to continue support on their site. I dunno. I was polite but informed. I simply said that I knew they had plans for it & that older or similar hardware (desire, evo, etc) had received the update so I know it's not for a lack of compatibility or power. I also mentioned my displeasure at the fact that they would rather cater to Verizon than support current customers & they might want to take a page out of apples playbook in that regard.
Lastly I let them know that this would be remembered on my next purchase.
Above all be polite but informed.
Well I just finished my second reply. Basically restating previous points made in further detail but with an emphasis on the fact that apple can't sue them for emulating their politics free policy on supporting their current customers which is a major key to their success.
Once again I implore all of you to be the squeaky wheel. It worked for the desire community. So please people, lets demand some grease.

We're not even talking about being rooted or not. We're talking about an update that should have been released already that will bring with it more fixes and other Rom components we need to keep development alive for our phone. I used to love CM but it definitely did not blow my mind, lol. Its just Android with another overlay.

1: will motorola phones become the new android standard? No more samsung or HTC nexus phones?
2: will google customer service improve? I haven't dealt with motorola before so I dunno how they handle customers.

Yeah - I'm hoping it's that they strip Blur out. In the absence of that, at least replace the components with leaner services from The Goog.
Let's just hope they don't decide to make Blur into an Android-wide "feature".
Like many users here, I am disappointed by the pace of development. I understand that the T-mobile version is the only one that has a unlocked bootloader and that limits the interest on development as many potential devs have other variants. Many users here (myself included) are not knowledgeable enough to develop anything ourselves. The less enlightened (to put it nicely) non-developers complain like crazy while others sit quietly for a paragon developer to come along. There are a few developers who are doing great work bringing CM11 and DeviantXone to our phones. Either way most of us non-developers really don't have any opportunity to make a difference... until now.
There is a petition that is taking off at change.org. It has already received a response from LG and with more signatures, could lead to a change. The petition is asking for LG to unlock the bootloader of the phone. This should increase the number of developers by a substantial amount. Developing for the LG G3 is much better than developing for just the D851.
Please join Sebastian Jena's campaign: Click here to sign the petition!

I wouldn't call what going on right now a lack of development. We have both stock based and cyanogenmod based Roms. When the cyanogenmod Roms that are out now become stable we will see a lot of ports for our phone. Its not that big of a deal but the petition is a great idea for the rest of the world. Just so you are aware most g3 versions can have stock based Roms but there seems to only be one actively developed ROM at a time over in the generic g3 section because the rest of the world has the same problem us T-Mobile folks do (lack of people willing to step up and learn how to do this stuff). I give it another month at most until we see stable cyanogenmod.
Goes back to 1% who modify their phones vs. Corporate clients who insist on security.... Who do you think cell providers and manufacturers are going to listen too....?

This is a valid point but I am not sure that many corporate clients support android devices nevermind the LG G3. Everywhere I have worked has been iphone and blackberry but the sample size is only 3 so I could be way off about this. Also they usually listen to the loudest of us. Even if we are outnumbered 10 to 1, we still stand a chance as long as we make more noise in support of this than they do in support of the status-quo. Even if you are right though, it doesn't take long to sign up and it is probably the biggest difference I and other non-developers can make so why not try at least?
I'd be fine with signing it, but then I'll get loads of emails from them, which I don't want.

For the record.... How many bootloaders been unlocked by a cell provider after initial release... And modding community is probably outnumbered by 100 to 1 or more likely more..and loud noise doesn't over come revenue stream... Be glad some providers release a dev phone for purchase.

You still may want to edit.your post. You spend far too long complaining about the lack of developing and how no one is deloping and.far less on why the phone should be unlike. Wasn't until the ending that I was like...oh he's not making a petition because no one is developing but to unlock the boot loader....
I also noticed the lack of development behind the G3.
Its a great phone, but if you want a phone with development youll have to get a HTC or Samsung or Nexus.
Even the Samsung devices with locked bootloaders get more development lol.
Sold mine on Craigslist and I hve a Note 4 on preorder awaiting shipment.
There use to be a time where if you were dissapointed in the amount of development being done on a phone you learned how dev. Thats what was great about android. It is an open source system made for you to make it youelr own. Yes times have changed and and not everything is completely open (nothing was ever completely open), but i know there are still ways to learn. Yes you might think your too busy to learn but if you really want more development for this device you will find the time to learn and truly make your device yours.

There is development going on for the g3. Just the tmobile variant. Once the boot loader gets unlocked, it'll probably be easy to port them to the other variants. And it's not LG's fault that only tmobile's boot loader is unlocked. It's the cell provider's that wanted that. If everyone just gives up and moves to different phones, the devs will see no need to try and unlock the other bootloaders.
I signed it , hopefully they unlock it

LG has just informed us via a press release that they will be rolling out the Lollipop upgrade to the LG G3 next week. Starting in Poland. LG is claiming to be first to roll out the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. While Motorola has started their soak test for Lollipop on the Moto X (2014), they haven’t started the official rollout just yet. While LG is starting the rollout in Poland we should be seeing it in other countries shortly later on. For those of us in the US, it’ll be closer to December, due to the carriers.
“LG is absolutely committed to giving our customers the best mobile experiences available and bringing Android Lollipop to G3 owners as soon as possible is a top priority,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The new features and improvements in Android 5.0 will bring a whole new user experience to the G3 and make it even better than it already is.”
Android 5.0 Lollipop brings a ton of new features. But for the LG G3, the most notable ones will be the battery and camera features that Google has added. Like Project Volta. The battery life on the Nexus 6 is pretty good, and I’m interested to see how the LG G3 does with the Lollipop update.
It looks like the developer preview at Google I/O this year really helped out the OEMs as we’re already seeing leaks of the LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S5 and other devices with Lollipop on board and this is the third device slated to get Lollipop this month that’s not a Nexus. Wonder if LG is going to beat the Nexus devices this year? It’s quite possible as the Nexus 5 isn’t going to be getting the update til at least November 12th.
Too bad it will look nothing like Lollipop.

Rooted but not a custom rom here...any idea how the upgrade for us is going to go? Do we need to go back to stock to upgrade?
It doesn't look like Lollipop, IE: it doesn't look like a Nexus device. That's a shocking revelation, and I am appalled. I figured that LG would completely scrap their own UI, and just stick AOSP lollipop on the phone, simply shocking. That said, until ART works with xposed, I'll be rocking KK. Not a big deal either way, and in all seriousness, you folks can't be shocked that LG is keeping their UI, right? Right? Just like every other OEM who skins android.
Got a Nexus 6 ordered so just unrooted and returned to stock awaiting 4.4.4, then will put the LG G3 up for sale.
Damn. And I just ordered my Note 4.
My question is when will there be a stock AOSP 5.0 rom for the G3? This phone is a monster in the spec field, and I want to keep it. I would like to flash a vanilla lollipop rom, however.
So apparently the D855 variant has a leaked build of lollipop booting with no issues...wondering what needs to be done for it to work on the D851? Are the firmwares even compatible?

I dont understand why some folks on xda feel the need to add useless comments in response to a question.. Would it not be better to just (putting it nicely) not respond if you can't help, instead of insulting..
You can consider my comment useless if you want. But you would be better off telling it to someone who cares about what you think.
Can't wait for lollipop!
Would Cyanogen Mod be interested in developing for this phone now that we have unlocked bootloader? Given the choice, I'd love Paranoid Android, but I went hold my breath.
CM is already in development . https://github.com/CM-zenfone2
BrokenROM https://github.com/BrokenROM/device_asus_moorefield
Seems that are only for ZE551ML I hope that will be compatible with ZE550ML
If someone can get pure AOSP or CM working, the ROMs will flow out like water... once a base is established building many ROMs is easy. If we get CM, then look for ROMs like Beanstalk, BlissPop, Carbon, , etc. to follow closely behind. Patience, it will happen...

Awesome! Is there/will there be collaboration with the developers regarding the kernel and device tree from ASUS as well? That would be key to have a fully-working custom ROM in the nearer future (versus the developers having to learn from scratch and sort of fend for themselves, kludging their way along and delaying the end goal).
So exciting!
We post our kernel source, but that's all we can offer, unfortunately. Our software development is done at our Taiwan HQ. But if any devs need anything, just send me a PM and I'll ask our software team.

Hi,
I've got some sort of situation here concerning building the kernel for ZF2 on my own. I downloaded the kernel source from ASUS website and followed the instructions one by one (download the android source code, use the appropriate toolchain, issue the kernel build command using fhd_defconfig, etc.
The phone boots and works good, BUT:
The phone never gets to deep sleep mode because of hsic_s3_wlock (kernel wakelock from USB HSIC). Could you please ask someone from the technical department to check what is causing this or if any config entry is missing? I am really starting to doubt that this is something I can influence at all
