Hi.
I designed this cradle for an easy USB connection to the watch.
A couple of pictures:
-Without the watch:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxTLcy78OveNMUYtT095Q0ZmOTg/view?usp=sharing
. With the watch mounted:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxTLcy78OveNM0dYWFJXUlZqU00/view?usp=sharing
They are build using a soft material so it will not scratch any part of the watch. The connector and USB cable is sealed with epoxy resin for a long, trouble-free operation.

Looks pretty good, I like how you used the clamp to hold it into place.

Thank you! That was my main concern, as an incorrect connection can ruin a ROM transfer. It's all made with specific adhesives for the material, so it's quite sturdy. It's not pretty, but very functional.

This is a joke right? Tape? 32euro for a taped up... thing?
Or is it melted plastic? Glue? I mean seriously wtf.
There isn't even yet a reason beyond "yeah I did that" to root these yet, unless I missed some huge development.

If you don't like it why even post? These things take time, know how and material 32 euro (about 40 us) sounds like a fair deal to me.
I like it...like it better someone creating one for me than trusting my own hands
i made mine, but i really see why he added the clamp and i need to add one to mine also. its a b!tch keeping it connected i had to hold mine down with one hand and run the cmds with the other.
@OP
Hi bro. Thank you for making this. I'm handicapped and have limited use of my hand and didn't know what to do and how to make this cable yet alone the cradle!! Can you tell me how I can buy this and what is exactly included in the package?
Thank you.

There is a working TWRP recovery and Root..thanks to (shabbypenguin) and many others..
To gain access with the homemade USB cable, one must remove a sticker, that covers the contacts, which is underneath the watch band spring pin on one side..once this sticker is removed, the five contacts are exposed, but one can reinstall the sticker, if carefull when removing..or make another sticker of some type, is what I had to do..

Yes but are the contacts the only thing that causes issue with water, or is there another seal?
I'm worried that the factory seal, not minding the sticker, would also ruin the IP67

One quick question - the pictures of this with the SGN in semi-horizontal position show the table with the screen upside down. Can you flip the SGN so that the screen is the right way and still be able to get the s-pen out ? Sorry - stupid question, I know, but I think this is exactly the case I'm looking for. I need something that can be (almost) horizontal and still be able to plug the charger in at the bottom.
Thanks !

The orientation is with the bottom of the tablet to the hinge of the case. As far as charging. No problem with case open. With case closed Ive taken a scalpel and cut a small slit to allow the power connector access. No biggie.

Thanks, bocosrs. Sorry to be a dummy, but does that mean that, if you have it lying semi-flat, the screen and whole tablet is upside down with the power connector at the 'top'? I really like this case, but have my sgn on my desk charging all day and want it lying flatish. It's not much good if that means it has to be upside down.
Good idea about the scalpel, btw.
Thanks again.

Only if you have the "smart cover" folded like shown in the picture. Otherwise just open like a book and lie flat. Also dont forget that even if the tablet is upside down the orientation sensor will flip the image.

The magnet embedded in the official flip shell is SO SO strong, I am sure it will WIPE your credit cards - my tweezers stick to it and it takes CONSIDERABLE effort to pull them off.
Be careful, and research first.
naah, nevermind the magnetic cards, EMV chips rule
Seriously, it would be nice to have a slim flip cover with a card pocket and magnet. The slimmest one I found so far adds another 10-14mm of thickness, which is too much as for me... Anybody see a thinner shell (maybe combined with a back cover)?
Okay, in this topic I wanna show you guys what I made....
Idea: a wireless charging dock for n5 that sits in the cup holder of my car
After a first attempt, that worked but didnt really look pretty, I decided to 3d print the dock. Problem: I dont own a 3d printer... so I was looking for a 3d printing service on the internet and found makexyz.com. I contacted a guy there, he was really helpful and 3d printed the dock for me. I had to split the dock into 2 parts, but that was no problem. Here the 3d models on sketchfab:
holder: https://sketchfab.com/show/d6ca0a0aee904e39b4d48ff1b720bcb7
base that goes into the cupholder: https://sketchfab.com/show/42dc408f78764a40bc90c66fc42ec61a
Here is the wireless charger I stole the electronics from: http://www.ebay.de/itm/161096854835
Today the parts arrived and I could finally put them together... pics attached
and a short video demonstration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrlEOgxBo_M
edit:
- costed about 22€ to print it
- the dimensions of the holder part are for a n5 with a spigen ultra fit case on
edit #2:
- stl files: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36125051/STLFiles.rar
please note: dimensions for n5 with spigen ultra fit case, the cup holder dimensions are for a seat leon 5f... most probably works with the most VWs, Seats and Skodas
- to print the holder.stl u will need to use support material
- my parts were printed using black ABS plastic
How much did the 3D printed holder cost?
This is very slick - but I must ask, how on earth did you know the dimensions of the wireless charging PCB? I'm guessing you got the charger before hand?
I may do something very similar using some sort of clip mount rather than the cup holder base. Very classy though. I like this a lot.

Maybe just put a dbrand back on for now until they become available? But doesn't the back need to be taken apart pretty carefully? Meaning taking into account the adhesives and screws because LG made the battery not removable? I know you are looking to replace the back, but that also houses the antenna's and other things. If you do, please post and do a write up or how-to!

Mines arrived today! Fit is perfect and is certainly original LG.
Didn't do a DIY but it is fairly straightforward to change it over.
Here are some pics!
The basics were use a guitar pick to pry round the outside. It should click off. There is some small sticky pads at the bottom of the cover so that takes a bit more prying. Then the new cover just clicks on lol

The sides and earpiece are going to very difficult. Assuming LG used the same stuff they used on the Nexus 4 to adhere the display to the frame you will be very likely to damage the frame. The earpiece also seems to be sandwiched between the frame and the glass according to the ifixit teardown pics.
It would be better and easier to find a display with frame for sale and just move the hardware over that way. But with the price of the display with frame you'd be better off selling your phone and buying a red one.

honestly, you'll have a hard time selling it.
As the title suggests. I'm looking for a MagNextor-X Adapter seller that ships to Canada.
There was an ebay seller but ebay error shows this seller can't take payments anymore.
There there's the amazon one but doesn't ship to Canada. UGH
I found them on eBay from a California seller who shipped to Canada in less than a week. Ended up costing around c$60 for two of them (discounted shipping on 2nd item).
Wow that's expensive! $30 / each. Guess that's the rip off you have to settle with for living in Canada

As long as you have the adapter you're good I suppose.
Don't buy the magnector. It doesn't fit flush into the charging port on the z3. U had to return mine and buy something off of eBay.
Sent from my D5803 using XDA Free mobile app
90% of what can be purchased on eBay doesn't charge at full speed and has an inferior magnet. I'd simply modify the adapter with a sharp knife or scalpel if if doesn't fit perfectly.
You can try but the thing that doesn't fit is the metal plate between the two charge connectors and I doubt you are going to be able to modify that. Someone posted a link to an official sony magnetic cable in another thread.

It "Fits" as far as the port snapping into place and charging. However, that's only the metal part, there's also the plastic from the charger that doesn't sit flush against the phone. This allows it to roll up and down and is very weak against this direction of force. So even when just picking up my phone, it slightly disconnects just enough that it stays on, but stops charging until re-seated. These are far from perfect, just acceptable...

So even when just picking up my phone, it slightly disconnects just enough that it stays on, but stops charging until re-seated. These are far from perfect, just acceptable...

Its a magenet, it charges my phone, is only a issue if I am trying to use it while it is charging which I don't. Works well. Personally planning to use a phone with a magnet stuck to the side isn't something I would expect to work perfectly as it is in the middle of the side of the phone and I would want to hold said phone.
you get similar adapter from ebay (chinese seller) for about 2$.
how can you pay 15$ for such a thing?! ....

Link please.
And what you're saying is the easy route... People might also say why pay 500$ for a phone when you can get one with almost the same specs for half a price.
You can really say that about almost everything.

But I am not talking about "almost the same specs" but "exactly the same specs".

One End is Micro USB, the other one is the magnetic charger.
Except these cheap adapters usually charge too slow to be useful. I have a pile of different ones lying around here and just one in ten works fine. The Magnector is actually reliable.
