Hey folks.
Coming from LG P930. Found someone selling OG for a good price and I am thinking of getting it.
P930 has an issue with cold weather (I live in the Canadian tundra) and reboots or BSOD when used after it's been outdoors (in jacket) for a while. When I say cold, -20C or below. Has anyone ever experienced that with this phone? Or any kind of reboots? Any issues? Thanks.
Well, optimus G is clearly not for you. A lot of report for the back glass cracking under thermal shock.

I have my Rogers LGOG E971 without a case in my jacket's outside pocket in -40 and no hickups whatsoever.
I have not experience any sleep deaths, random reboots, etc overall. Also, mind you that according to the manual (i believe I read it there) that operating the device under -15 may cause issues.
If you're talking about overall hardware (or let's say case, screen) robustness, lots of reports that the back glass is not top-notch. My brother's LGOG back glass cracked in less than an inch drop on a wood table.
My one was woking good in -27C, but after a reboot the battery level stucked at 19%.
However charging fixed it.
I did a screenshot, but for unknown reason unable to attach it here.
I Used it during the lasts weeks while jogging, so I was running music player, My Tracks and Sports tracker with a bluetooth HxM pluged in for about 40-60 min. during temperature around -20, didn't have any "hickups".
After, I let it rest and temper indoor before using it and I use a bumper. Still no issue, but I'll touch wood!
Thanks all. Will try to check it out personally.
used my 971 to clean snow with music made a video and snapped a few pictures
0 issue, screen was a bit slow to produce images

I've used my Rogers E971 Optimus G with a case (Diztronic TPU, and Avoca Metal) up to about -30C. The glass has no visible signs of scratching or cracking at all. I would get a case if you're worried, that way the glass would never touch or be exposed to a cold surface!
Hello everyone,
few days ago, my sister's almost brand new Desire 816 began taking blurred photos, so I decided to take a closer look to the camera and noticed that thing you can see in the attachment.
I really don't know what happened there, but they do not seem like ordinary scratches. I really don't know how to fix them, and I really don't think this is covered by the HTC warranty.
What should I do know?

i was having same issue few days ago i tried cleaning my lens but it didn't help so the only solution is to buff your camera.. as the body is made up of plastic some amount of carbon comes after a while so all u need is to make it buffed. i don't know from where you get this service in your country. Here in my country there are many shops who use certain compounds or chemicals to buff plastic and make it look like newer , cleaner and scratch free... it does not harm your phone ok search google about buff..... best of luck

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I've had camera phones since 2004 and I've never had such an issue with none of them.
Actually, here in Italy, I really don't now if I can find this kind of shop, but maybe I can do some "do it yourself".
Hello everybody, I just received my g4 yesterday so I had it now for 24hrs and sometimes soft /light touches does not register and I find myself touching the same icon again to make it work .
Coming from Galaxy S6 it seems the G4 sometimes skip a touch or two.
Is that normal? Did anyone else noticed the same ?
Can this be corrected by software updates or is it something wrong with my G4?

Obviously this is the solution but comparing to GS6 and HTC m8 this was never an issue so I am sharing my experience with LG G4 to compare and to find out if this is isolated case or mass issue !
The G4 does not run on super amoled, obviously. The review units seem to have the same 'issue' when compared with other phones. It's the type of screen.

Appreciate your feedback
I just picked up my G4 today and am noticing the same thing. My Note 4 had a setting where you could turn up sensitivity, I have yet to find it on this phone
Give this app a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=br.shop4apps.touchscreenbooster.com&hl=en I installed it and set it to Super Optimized and it seems to be making the sensitivity a little better. I am coming from the S6 so it was driving me crazy with all the missed registrations.
I'm finding it to be the opposite. While scrolling through my app drawer I end up starting up an app

I'm having the same issue, however I am running a Mime tempered glass screen protector. My cousin has also reported the same issue where it is missing taps, he's running a Zagg tempered glass screen protector.
To those with the issue are you also running a tempered glass protector?
I have a tempered glass screen protector. I did use the phone for a day or so before I started using the protector. The outcome has been the same for me either way. 90~95 out of 100 taps and swipes are registered properly but the 5 to 10% missed taps are starting to get really annoying for me. Most of the time I won't notice or care in a non gaming scenario though.
I have used the app posted above and it doesn't seem to really make a difference for me. Very frustrating because everything else about the phone has been great (battery, camera, screen, sound, etc). Debating if it's worth rolling the dice on a new phone.. We are in 2015 and this shouldn't be happening, last time I had a phone that missed taps was like 2011.
I was having a similar touch issue. But I fixed mine--or resolved it. I discovered it while scrolling through the reddit Sync app. I would have to press links twice because it wouldn't register the first time. Then for some reason, I discovered the issue:
IF the screen is moving (as in still scrolling from a swipe) ANY AMOUNT at all, the first touch does not open the intended link/target. Even if the screen scroll has slowed to an absolute crawl, but isn't COMPLETELY stopped, the first touch only 'stops' the screen. If I wait to touch until the screen has come to a complete stop, it works every time. Maybe my previous phones didn't have as tight of a tolerance on how much the screen can be moving before registering touches.
Other than that, the screen may be slightly less sensitive than other phones.
Not sure if this is the same touch issue you're having, but I hope this helps someone.
I came from a Galaxy S3 and have the same issue. It's driving me crazy!
Just to add to the topic I've come from a Nexus 6 and I'm experiencing the same issue. Definitely missed taps.

I am assuming the N6 does not have touch issues like this... I am going to be jumping to it from the G4, I think this is just an unacceptable phone. How is the size / handling of the N6 compared to the G4? That's my only concern...

Honestly I've had every Nexus device and the Nexus 6 I wasn't the biggest fan. It had none of the touch screen issues but the camera was not on the same level and in my experience neither was the battery life.
I also much prefer the size of the G4 and I'm not a fan of AMOLED screens I can't stand the black ghosting that occurs on them.
I've already contacted the Three store here in the UK where I got my G4 and they are happy to exchange but honestly I won't be switching from the G4. We just need more people like on here to make themselves heard and hopefully LG come up with a fix or it comes down to a bad batch.
That's not to say the Nexus 6 is a bad phone but if they can fix the touch screen issues on the G4 there really is no comparison in my opinion.
This was brought up by someone else, but for those that feel the touch sensitivity / registration is not workigng so well, do any of you have a screen protector? Whether it is Tempered Glass or a Protective Film it could be inteffiring with the display?
Also, if you are having problems and have something on your screen for protection, what type of protection is it and what brand? Just figure it is worth a shot asking and seeing if there is a pattern.

I'm using a CaseBase Tempered Glass Protector but my other half is rocking a naked G4 and the issues are still present. I actually already have another Protector on the way from a different manufacture because I initially thought that it could be the problem.
Then I began reading on here and Reddit and discovered we are not the only ones with the issue.

No screen protector for me.
No screen protector here either... it's just super frustrating to have a flagship phone perform this poorly.

I'm actually experiencing both the issue in the OP and the issue you're having where I try to swipe to scroll but it ends up tapping instead, though they happen at different times. There seems to be something wrong with these touchscreens since it seems to be a common problem.
I just got the phone 3 days ago... Today, a glass screen protector came in and I installed it. Of course, I messed up the first time, so I had to clean the screen and the protector since there was dust. There wasn't anything unusual in the installation, I just installed it as I did to my one plus. There wasn't an excess of water or anything. After the installation, the sensitivity was awesome, everything was great and worked great. An hour later, when I needed to use the phone, the sensitivity was lacking and eventually the phone started tapping by itself. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I proceeded with a factory reset believing it was the hardware since my oneplus never had this issue. After I reset, it still keeps auto tapping, and here I am now.
Thanks in advanced!

did you already tried to remove the glass screen protector?
Were you able to find a solution? It's happening with me too!
I think I need some help, running stock just factory reseted phone but problem still there.
When making a call screen goes blank and I can't turn it on after that, can't hang up, can't do anything.
Is there any1 else experiencing this bug?
Maybe your sensor on the front is jacked up?
Nop had it tested in other app.

Try to factory reset it again, or you could investigate if any app you have is causing it.
Hahahahahahahahahahahhah GOT IT.
YOU GUYS WON'T BELIEVE WHAT IT WAS!!!!!!
It's my new tempered glass screen protector..removed it and now works perfect...
Haha, learned something new

Because I recently purchased one from Xtremeguard and it's currently being delivered to me. I sent an email to them and they claim that the tempered glass does not block the proximity sensor. I've read on another forum that this specific brand provided similar problems to what you experienced.
and also the missed touches on screen gets worse with tempered glass
nillkin tempered glass here without any issues. Can you post up a picture of your screen protector? Maybe the cutouts are different. I also had no idea on the screen protector that was installed by LG (which in different markets may have logos, but mine was clear, even had a tab to remove it, but left it on until I got my tempered glass one)
It's the sensor, not the protector

I have the same problem with my LG V10. I have NOTHING blocking the sensor. I just discovered that light level alone will cause the black screen.
I tried calling with a bright light overhead. No black screen.
I caused a shadow over the sensor (NOT blocking it, just a shadow). The screen went black. The same thing happened when I was in the T-Mobile store, with no block and no shadow.
Guys, I had the exact problem. And you DO NOT have to remove your protector, you just need to recalibrate the sensor. There is a tutorial, use the Search.
Did anyone manage to do this with Verizon?
